Rebirth in Japan: The Heiress Who Conquered the World

Satsuki turned around and raised a hand to point at a car in the exhibition area closest to the entrance.

”This one.”

The salesperson looked over following her gesture.

”Yes, this 348 currently—”

Satsuki’s hand had already continued moving to the side.

Finally, it swept all the way to the end of this row of vehicles.

”Up to this one.”

”I want all of them.”

”Um, alright, this—”

The salesperson’s words came to an abrupt halt.

He stood there, completely silent for a full two seconds without continuing.

The professional smile on his face was still maintained quite perfectly.

Only the corners of his mouth seemed to twitch slightly and uncontrollably.

”Uh...”

He cautiously confirmed:

”Miss Saionji, you mean...”

”All the vehicles currently available for sale on this side?”

”That is right.”

She turned her head and looked over this row of cars again. The red, black, and yellow bodies were lined up in order under the exhibition hall lights, looking much more vibrant than solid black.

Among them was also the 348 that had felt quite nice after she sat inside earlier.

”I like all of them quite a bit.”

She thought for a moment and added:

”Besides, there are not really any sports cars at home to begin with.”

”Since we are already here, let us just buy them together.”

The smile on the salesperson’s face was noticeably brighter than before—if this sale went through, he conservatively estimated he could make over a million in commission.

But perhaps feeling that acting too happy right now was a bit unprofessional, he quickly worked hard to press the corners of his mouth back down.

”Alright.”

”I will immediately prepare the relevant paperwork for you here.”

He bowed deeply.

”Please wait a moment.”

After speaking, his steps as he turned and left were noticeably much faster than before.

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki stood nearby, watching that salesperson practically brisk-walk all the way to the office, then looked at the entire row of sports cars in front of him that had changed owners within just a few sentences.

”If I did not know that your family’s money is basically all earned by yourself...”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki shook his head.

”This is completely standard prodigal behaviour from you.”

Satsuki turned back.

”What is it?”

”Who buys cars like you do?”

”Me.”

Satsuki pointed at herself very naturally.

”...”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki was choked up for a moment.

Satsuki had already started laughing.

”It is not like you do not know.”

She spread her hands helplessly.

”In an old-fashioned family like ours, what kind of fun things could there possibly be in the garage?”

”I made a special trip to take a look around this morning.”

Thinking of that row of cars with almost identical colours, she could not help but sigh.

”Century, President, Mercedes...”

”They are all black.”

”After looking at them for too long, you cannot even tell which is which.”

”And that Porsche of Father’s from goodness knows how many years ago.”

Speaking up to this point, Satsuki even chuckled herself.

”If I do not buy something I like to take back, our family garage is practically going to turn into a government vehicle parking lot.”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki could indeed picture that scene.

The consumption habits passed down for generations in the Saionji Family were inherently different from ordinary upstarts.

Buying cars prioritised status, comfort, reception, and safety.

When it really came to being ”fun,” there truly might not be anything worth Satsuki looking at.

However...

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki suddenly thought of another problem.

”Buying so many all at once, can the main family’s garage still hold them?”

The smile on Satsuki’s face paused for a moment.

”...”

She really had not thought about that.

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki continued:

”Storing them all away properly is definitely something you can do.”

”You can just shove them into any underground garages among your properties in Tokyo.”

He gestured toward the car beside him.

”But for the cars you want to drive yourself, you surely cannot keep them in Minato today and Setagaya tomorrow, only to have someone ship them back whenever you feel like driving them?”

Satsuki frowned.

That was indeed a bit troublesome.

She bought these cars purely for her own amusement.

If she suddenly felt like driving one of them one day, she would first have to make Fujita ask where the car was placed, and then send people to fetch it back...

Just thinking about it made the enthusiasm drop by half.

”Um...”

Satsuki rubbed her chin.

”Now that really is a problem.”

She thought seriously for a few seconds.

Then her eyes suddenly lit up.

”Then let us just build another one near home.”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki looked at her.

”Build a place specifically for storing cars?”

”Mhm.”

Satsuki found it more and more reasonable the more she thought about it.

”Make it bigger.”

”In the future, buying cars will not require worrying about having nowhere to put them.”

Saying this, she suddenly thought of something else, and her smile instantly became even happier.

”And...”

”It can coincidentally count towards today’s target.”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki frowned.

”What target?”

”Spending money, of course.”

Satsuki replied quite naturally.

Seeing that he still had a puzzled look on his face, she then added:

”When Father chased me out today, he said I am not allowed to come home until I spend one billion.”

”...”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki fell silent for a few seconds.

”One billion?”

”Mhm.”

”Today?”

”That is right.”

Satsuki nodded.

”I have been spending since morning all the way until now.”

She said it with a hint of grievance.

”It is really hard to spend.”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki looked at her, at a loss for a moment as to where he should even begin evaluating this bizarre parenting method of the Saionji father and daughter.

Right at this moment, the salesperson who had left earlier briskly walked back over.

A freshly organized stack of documents had already appeared in his hands.

”Miss Saionji.”

”This is the preliminary bill for these vehicles for now.”

”Subsequent registration, insurance, and specific delivery procedures can be handled by our specialists coming to your residence.”

Satsuki took them and glanced over them.

The numbers were arranged at the very bottom.

She silently counted through them.

”One hundred and sixty million...”

Her tone even carried a hint of disappointment.

”Cheaper than expected.”

The smile on the salesperson’s face almost failed to be contained again.

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki could not be bothered to make any comments at all anymore.

Satsuki looked over the numbers once more and casually handed the documents to Fujita Tsuyoshi.

”Fujita.”

Fujita Tsuyoshi, who had been standing not far away all along, immediately stepped forward.

”Present.”

”If we were to build another collection garage near our home, about how much would it cost?”

Fujita Tsuyoshi clearly had not expected the topic to jump here so suddenly.

However, after pondering for just a moment, he recalled the situation nearby.

”There is indeed a residence near the main estate currently up for sale.”

”The land area is also sufficient.”

He made a brief estimation as he spoke.

”If we buy the land together, demolish the existing buildings, and construct a dedicated garage capable of long-term vehicle storage...”

”Plus security, fire protection, dehumidification, and daily maintenance facilities, the overall budget would probably require six to seven hundred million yen.”

Satsuki’s eyes grew brighter and brighter.

”Six to seven hundred million?”

”Yes.”

Fujita Tsuyoshi nodded.

”The actual amount will need further confirmation from the real estate department and the construction company.”

”It is fine.”

Satsuki was already satisfied.

”Let them go negotiate.”

She had just been worrying about how to spend the rest of today’s money, and now this happened to be just right.

The clothes, shoes, and jewellery bought in the morning, coupled with this batch of sports cars in the afternoon, and finally a plot of Tokyo land specifically acquired to build a garage—the target of one billion yen was finally almost accumulated.

Father’s task was finally completed.

Satsuki turned toward Tsutsumi Yoshiaki in an exceptionally good mood.

”Mhm.”

She nodded solemnly.

”That is how it is.”

”Uncle Tsutsumi.”

”I can go home today.”

”...”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki looked at her.

Then looked at that row of sports cars she had just bought.

Finally, he thought about that plot of Tokyo land about to be bought simply to find a place for these cars to live.

After quite a while, he finally spoke.

”If you ask me...”

”With a cash flow like yours where you can casually pull out one billion in cash just to play around...”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki shook his head.

”This title of ’richest person in Japan’ might be more appropriate if given to you.”

”You flatter me, you flatter me.”

Satsuki immediately waved her hands with a smiling expression.

”I still would not dare compare myself to Uncle Tsutsumi.”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki was completely immune to this by now.

As long as the two characters for ”overpraised” appeared in this girl’s mouth, what followed was mostly unlikely to be anything truly humble.

He simply did not take up the comment.

His gaze fell back onto that bill.

”So...”

”You tossed and turned for most of the day.”

”And what you spent the most on in the end was a place for parking?”

Satsuki had already squeezed back into that F40.

Hearing this sentence, she leaned over the steering wheel and thought for a moment.

It seemed...

That really was it.

She bought so many things in the morning.

Bought a whole row of sports cars in the afternoon.

As a result, when added all together, it still was not as expensive as a plot of land next to the main estate used to park cars.

Satsuki could not help laughing.

”Pretty much.”

She reached out and flicked the gear shift.

”However, Tokyo is just like this.”

Satsuki played inside the F40 for a little longer.

Until she had studied the steering wheel, the gear shift, and a few other touchable things around her pretty thoroughly, she finally pushed open the car door with satisfaction.

”Alright.”

Satsuki stood up gracefully, lowered her head to tidy her jacket that had gotten wrinkled inside the car, and swept her slightly loosened hair back over her shoulders.

”The pleasant shopping time has also ended.”

When she raised her head again, her face already wore the familiar smile that Tsutsumi Yoshiaki knew so well.

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki knew at a single glance.

Oh well.

This little girl was starting to think about business again.

He also subconsciously put away that slight expression of just watching the fun from earlier.

Satsuki had already put her hands behind her back.

”Since Uncle Tsutsumi happens to be here.”

She said with a smile:

”Let us go talk about some real business that we will both be interested in.”

”Oh?”

Tsutsumi Yoshiaki indeed became interested.

”What new good project do you have this time?”

”It does not quite count as a project.”

Satsuki was already walking toward the direction of the VIP room.

After walking a few steps, she suddenly stopped and looked back at Tsutsumi Yoshiaki following behind.

”I just wanted to ask Uncle Tsutsumi...”

”Would you like to come with me and carve up a bit of what is in your older brother’s hands?”
