My Living Shadow System Devours To Make Me Stronger

Chapter 1140: Chapter 1141: Scram

The adventures of Ric the Great had only begun. The world was bright and full of colors.

Ahh, suddenly his stomach grumbled.

Ric the Great suddenly realized it was lunchtime, and by now Lilith would be calling him to come eat.

However, he was in the middle of nowhere.

Then he shook his head.

He had to press on. A man must never back down, and if he returned now, his master was going to laugh at him.

Now that was terrifying, getting teased and bullied.

Not on his life.

So he figured he might as well put his hunting skills to the test. After all, he was taught everything by Damon. He could survive anywhere.

Then he realized he didn’t bring any hunting gear, rations, or supplies, only the pager with a lot of money linked to it.

Then he suddenly realized what good was money in a forest. Was he supposed to transact with the trees?

”I need to find a monster to eat,” he muttered.

A child his age would not want to be anywhere near a monster. However, he was not a normal child.

He started looking for footprints and a trail to follow. After half an hour of searching, he found some monster footprints.

Then he began to follow.

The trail was getting more visible. After a while, he realized the monster must have left in a hurry.

It was just one of them. A lot of monsters here had fled for some odd reason.

Godric bit his lips and the sun was setting. The closer he got to the trail, the monster would just flee.

”Hmm, what’s going on here? Are the monsters here spineless or something? Haha, they must have felt my powerful aura.”

He wasn’t wrong. However, he also wasn’t right. The monsters had been running from a powerful aura, but it wasn’t Ric’s. It was the aura of the Seventh Class Shadow Drones that were following him, one of which was on his shadow.

These shadow drones were given a directive to protect him, so naturally they would scare off any monster. As for whether Godric would starve as a result, well, they didn’t think it was an issue, after all Damon was also watching him.

Meanwhile, Damon wore a wicked smile on his face, seeing Godric really struggle.

He couldn’t wait for the boy to give up and come running home so he could laugh at him and pick on him for not being able to handle the real world.

Ahh, he even had a long list of things to say.

Meanwhile, Godric was raised by Damon. He was just as stubborn. As if he would go back and be the butt of Damon’s jokes.

”Higher ground. I need higher ground.”

He raised his hand and then leapt into a tree.

When he reached the top of the tree, he looked around. It was getting dark now, however he spotted something, smoke.

It seemed there was a large campfire ahead, and whoever it was was not trying to hide.

He suspected there were at least a hundred of them.

”Bandits.” He narrowed his eyes. After all, he knew his master would never set camp. They lived only in the shadows and left no traces of themselves.

Besides, what self-respecting person would set up base here in the mountain? It had to be bandits.

Suddenly, he had an idea.

What if he went there and stole some supplies?

Yes, the more he thought about it, the better the idea sounded.

”Hahaha, in your face, master!” He lunged down from the tree and leaped towards another tree.

What he failed to notice were the giant flags swinging in the dark that carried the crest of House Brightwater. If he had any sense, he would know trying to steal from a great house was suicide.

It looked so close from the tree, but it was actually quite far. They were on a whole other side of the mountain range, so Ric spent more than three hours running, climbing, and falling.

It was dark and he could barely see. However, years of being in the tomb meant he was used to darkness, and he could see well in shadows. In fact, he liked the shadows.

Eventually, he managed to reach the side of the mountain they were on and hid in the bushes. He was covered in scrapes and bruises, his clothes were torn, and he had leaves and branches in his hair.

Even so, he didn’t stop. He even forgot he was hungry for a moment until he smelled the fresh and delicious fragrance coming from the campfire, where a few armored soldiers sat while others patrolled the area.

As soon as the scent hit him, his stomach grumbled.

Then he looked at them.

”Hmm, must be some high-level bandits. They even have the crest of a noble house,” he said.

Then he frowned.

”Heheh, this is a noble house, huh. Well good, I can rob them clean. I mean borrow from them. I’m just returning wealth back to the people. It’s what a good person would do.”

Then he smiled evilly.

Besides, I’m just a kid. The law can’t hold me accountable, that’s my master’s problem. He’s my legal guardian.

Then he began to sneak toward where the pantry would be. He could see it now.

Entering was easy, well no surprise. The knights were suddenly called towards the central tent for some reason. He didn’t think too much about it, and finally he was in.

There was food, lots of it. He stuffed his face, took some of every type of meat, and began to fill a sack.

After eating, he would take his sack and leave on his mission.

Hehehe, he ate and drank.

And then after a while he was done. Then he lifted his sack of food.

However, something wasn’t right. There was so much food here, was taking one sack really okay?

No, of course not. I have to give back to the people.

He began to fill other sacks.

This type of greed was reminiscent of someone. I wonder who he would have learned that from.

After a few minutes, he had the original sack, which was the smallest, and ten large sacks.

”Heheh, now I’m ready.”

No, he was not. Someone needed to tell this greedy little gremlin he couldn’t carry that much.

He turned to pull the sacks when a voice spoke.

”Who are you?”

His face sank, then he turned around to find a girl with golden hair looking at him with an angry expression.

He saw it was only a girl his age, so he scoffed.

”Not your business. Scram, I’m busy.”

”You’re busy? You steal from me and tell me to scram? Ohhh, you are so dead.” The ten-year-old girl smacked her fist into her palm.

Ric suddenly had a really bad feeling about this.
