Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1299: Chapter 426: The Grand Scene of the 3 Towns Martial Arts Competition, Marriage Alliances and Integration

The affair of Ji Hong’s siblings is surely considered a major event in Hongmen City;

But placing it in the entirety of Great Xia, it definitely won’t cause much of a stir.

To put it bluntly, apart from the Dragon Martial Army, Xu Family, Zhao Family, and a small portion of people who have some connection with Ji Hong’s siblings or know them, most people who hear about it won’t pay it much mind.

Great Xia is simply too large now.

At the Cold Yuan Banquet at the beginning of the year, Director of the Military Department Yuwen Dao officially unveiled the latest map of Great Xia. Currently, Great Xia’s total territory spans 23,000 square kilometers, and the population reaches as high as 2.66 million. Excluding the 22 districts of the Outer City, there are 65 external posts.

Each of the 22 districts of Xia City has a population of over 100,000; the population of the 65 external posts varies, but even the smallest post has more than 2,000 people, and larger ones like the established city of Long Mountain have populations of 100,000, and even more extreme, like the port city of Hongmen, where the population is over 300,000 and continuously climbing.

With such large territory and population, isn’t it normal for something to happen daily?

Although Great Xia has changed drastically, the dangerous undertone of the Ice Abyss World has never changed. Even today, in the 22 districts of Xia City, there are still frequent occurrences of missing and dead individuals who venture outside; this happens even in Xia City, protected by the Holy Tripod and thoroughly guarded, let alone the external posts.

In fact, if not for Ji Hong’s top-grade battle body talent and his identity as a soldier of the Dragon Martial Army, his defection wouldn’t even become a hot topic, and his sister Ji Jiang’s death wouldn’t have possibly spread at all.

Since last May, Great Xia formally moved eastward to establish exchanges with the Eight Towns and integrate into the southern slope of Moao Mountain, the entire camp has seen a rapid development phase. Following the opening of the port in July and the post-war Three Towns Integration proposed by Xia Hong in September, this wave of development was further fueled.

The overall development of the camp is intricately linked to individuals.

Just the opening of Hongmen alone contained countless opportunities for pursuit of wealth, visible to anyone with a bit of wit.

Not to mention the subsequent integration of the Three Towns.

For individuals, as long as they keep up with this wave of camp development, enhance their cultivation, strengthen their capabilities, change their social class, and totally reverse their fate to become part of the mid-to-high tier of Great Xia, it is certainly possible.

Across Great Xia, from the high tiers to ordinary hunting and collection teams, everyone is busy and immersed, with daily tasks overflowing, hardly anyone would have the time to pay attention to Ji Hong’s siblings.

Therefore, the siblings’ popularity only lasted over a month in Hongmen City before it gradually ceased to be mentioned.

As time slowly passed to May, following the spread of a more exciting and sensational news, the affair of Ji Hong’s siblings was utterly forgotten.

......

The ninth year of Great Xia, May 8th, night

Hongmen, South City Archway

A team of over twenty young men and women gazed at the bustling South City Main Street, their faces filled with shock and emotion.

”Isn’t the number of people a bit overwhelming?”

”I feel it’s more than our Town City people!”

”Didn’t Second Uncle say, when we came, that Hongmen has a population just over 400,000?”

”Just looking at this section, there must be over 100,000!”

”Earlier in the Town City, I heard people say that the liveliest place in the Nine Towns now is Hongmen City. I didn’t believe it initially, but now I do.”

.........

Xiahou Qingqing, hearing the surrounding voices of surprise, showed a smile and explained, ”It’s because of the population density. Hongmen’s total area is only 25 square kilometers, barely a tenth of our Town City, yet its population is already half of ours, so naturally, it appears livelier than our Town City.”

Upon hearing her explanation, everyone immediately understood.

”Wow, look over there, so much delicious food!”

The youngest in the team, Jiang Yining, had already focused on the food stalls on both sides of the main street, her eyes shining with excitement, which made everyone chuckle and tease her.

”Ah Ning, I’ve heard there are at least a thousand kinds of delicious food in Hongmen. We’re staying here for over a month, enough time for you to try them all.”

”Won’t that turn you into a little fatty?”

”Haha, no worries, Ah Ning isn’t afraid of gaining weight.”

”By the time Ah Ning goes back, might even be too plump for Third Uncle to recognize.”

”Hahaha...”

”Shoo, shoo, shoo, you guys are the ones who’ll turn into little fatties!”

Jiang Yining, just over fifteen this year, was naturally spirited. Being teased by her older brothers and sisters, she instantly retorted but then remembered something, she turned to look at Xiahou Qingqing, her eyes rolling mischievously as she playfully remarked, ”Qingqing Sis, isn’t your fiancé a bit inconsiderate? We’re so many people visiting, yet he hasn’t shown up at all.”

”Yes, yes, didn’t Xiao Hen promise last month in Jiangxia that he would treat us to a meal when we arrived in Hongmen this month? Where is he? Where is he?”

”Qingqing Sis, quickly call your fiancé here.”

”Yes, call him over quickly.”

......

Being teased collectively, Xiahou Qingqing’s face suddenly turned red, stammering for quite a while, unable to respond.

”Apologies for keeping everyone waiting, sorry!”

But soon, someone came to her rescue.

A young man wearing black summer clothes, with a handsome face, hurriedly walked over from the direction of North City. Seeing the group from Jiangxia, he immediately smiled, cupped his hands, and apologized.
