Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 612: Chapter 260: Medicine Workshop Upgrade, Population Surge, and Resource Easing

”Are these bottles made of porcelain?”

Xia Hong didn’t look at the elixirs immediately but focused on the four bottles used to hold them. Each bottle was only fist-sized and came in four colors: green, blue, yellow, and red. Their surfaces were shiny and adorned with exquisite beast-shaped patterns, immediately making him think of porcelain.

Cheng Feng was startled for a moment and said, ”Porcelain? I’m not sure. This is a new material developed by the Craftsmen Department last month. I heard it’s made from kaolin transported from over in Wuyuan. It looks quite stunning and has become very popular among the women in the camp recently. Due to limited raw materials, the output is low, and the price in the Camp Supply Department is not cheap. Just this small bottle for holding elixirs costs 400 Contribution Value points, and it’s not even guaranteed you can get one.”

Indeed, fired from kaolin, it’s truly porcelain!

Xia Hong took the bottle, and a look of amazement immediately rose in his eyes. He had been away for only a bit over four months, yet the camp had managed to produce porcelain.

It’s not that porcelain is so precious, but crucially, it can serve as a carrier and symbol of civilization and also marks that within Great Xia, there’s no longer a sole focus on food and clothing; a small portion of spiritual needs has already emerged.

This is probably the first genuine luxury item in Great Xia!

Xia Hong quipped silently to himself, then opened the four porcelain bottles, from which an exotic fragrance immediately wafted into his nose, and his eyes lit up upon seeing four different elixirs.

Seeing Xia Hong open the porcelain bottles, Cheng Feng immediately followed up with introducing the elixirs:

”The leader gave me eleven types of herbs during the day, which should all be very precious. It amazingly resulted in thirteen elixir formulas. The four porcelain bottles contain the most useful four types, namely Sun Resistance Pill, Beast Spirit Pill, Blood Essence Pill, and the most precious, Yangyuan Pill...”

Eleven types of herbs, yet synthesized into thirteen formulas.

It was evidently due to the various herbs previously recorded by the Alchemy Workshop interacting with these eleven herbs that resulted in so many types, proving that the eleven herbs brought back this time could each serve as a main herb in a formula, which explains why Cheng Feng said these herbs were very precious.

As Cheng Feng continued with the introduction, Xia Hong became increasingly excited.

The Sun Resistance Pill, primarily composed of Zhu Yinhua, grants anyone who consumes it the temporary ability to act under sunlight, for one hour in the Logging Realm and over two hours in the Earth-digging Realm;

The Beast Spirit Pill, mainly composed of Red Sun Fruit, Linglong Fruit, and Intermediate Beast Meat, enhances the Earth’s ability to absorb Beast Meat, considered an upgrade to the Beast Essence Pill, with an effect ten times stronger, a Holy Item for cultivation in the Earth-digging Realm;

The Blood Essence Pill, primarily composed of Double-colored Liquid Spirit Fruit, Panxiang Leaf, and Intermediate Beast Blood, enhances the Earth-digging Realm Limit’s absorption efficiency of Beast Blood for reshaping skin;

”Finally, the Yangyuan Pill...”

When it came to the last elixir, Cheng Feng paused before continuing:

”Earlier, I requested three pounds of Jade Bone from the leader just to refine this elixir. Its formula is the most complex, not only encompassing the eleven herbs the leader gave me but also incorporating seven relatively precious herbs we have in the Alchemy Workshop. Combined with three pounds of Jade Bone, only then could a furnace be refined producing approximately nine finished pills all here. Unexpectedly, it should be the Spirit Pill for cultivation at Cold Resistance Level the leader mentioned!”

Xia Hong carefully poured the elixir from the last red porcelain bottle, inhaling the exotic fragrance it emitted, and a look of intoxication appeared in his eyes.

The Yangyuan Pill was fiery red with traces of black veining, resembling being encased in magma, and felt hot to the touch. Without the strength of a Cold Resistance Level skin membrane, contact could potentially cause burns.

”The only flaw of the Yangyuan Pill is that its refinement demands a substantial amount of coal stone; I used 50,000 pounds yesterday altogether.”

50,000 pounds, nothing!

Normally when simmering Jade Bone Medicine requires 70,000 pounds to one pound of Jade Bone; refining a furnace of Yangyuan Pills with 50,000 pounds of coal stone is extraordinarily economical.

”Gulp...”

Without hesitation, Xia Hong swallowed the pill in his hand and, right in front of Cheng Feng, closed his eyes to begin experiencing the medicinal power of the Yangyuan Pill.

His skin began to sound with vibrations as the blood and flesh beneath were being torn and rearranged by the medicinal power, powerful enough not to be completely absorbed, and even kept penetrating through the skin membrane outward.

Increasing amazement filled Xia Hong’s eyes, with his face gradually manifesting sheer delight.

”Triple, no, nearly quadruple! The medicinal power of a single Yangyuan Pill is at least four times that of a pound of Jade Bone Medicine, nothing short of miraculous!”

The herbs Cheng Feng used for refining the elixirs were all sourced from Xia Hong, so Xia Hong was well aware that refining a furnace of Yangyuan Pills consumed only materials equivalent to three pounds of Jade Bone Medicine.

What does this mean?

Using the materials for simmering three pounds of Jade Bone Medicine at the Great Xia Alchemy Workshop can produce nine Yangyuan Pills, with a single Yangyuan Pill’s medicinal power being three to four times that of Jade Bone Medicine.

”Not only does the medicinal power have three to four times the impact, but the absorption efficiency of flesh is far superior to directly simmered Jade Bone Medicine. If Yangyuan Pills are continuously refined, henceforth, the cultivation efficiency at Cold Resistance Level in Great Xia will exceed that of all other camps!”

In a state of sheer joy, Xia Hong looked down at the other three pills, his expression becoming increasingly fervent.

”Beast Spirit Pill, Blood Essence Pill, Yangyuan Pill, and Beast Essence Pill—all elixirs for cultivation from Logging Realm to Cold Resistance Level. Great Xia has them all. As long as the production of these elixirs can be guaranteed, the cultivation speed through these four stages in Great Xia will surpass most other camps.”
