I Grind to Martial Saint

”Might I ask what business brings Faceless Master to the Great Vajra Temple so late at night?”

Huaisan asked softly.

”I have come to retrieve something,”

the Faceless Monk said softly.

”What is it?” Huaisan’s brows knitted as he secretly gathered his energy, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

”Something that should have been mine all along,” the Faceless Monk said with a slight smile.

JINGLE JINGLE JINGLE~~~

At this moment, the Zen Staff in his hand began to shake frantically again.

But the Faceless Monk clearly hadn’t moved at all.

And when Huaisan looked over, his face instantly paled in shock.

He saw that the staff wasn’t hung with metal rings at all—they were clearly bizarre human heads.

These heads belonged to men and women, old and young. They were withered and grotesque, constantly sneering at him.

An unprecedented sense of horror instantly filled Huaisan’s heart.

”You’re a Demon Monk!”

Huaisan growled, just as he was about to make a move.

POW!

The Faceless Monk swung the Zen Staff in his hand lightly, directly smashing Huaisan’s head to pieces.

”Amitabha....”

The Faceless Monk looked at Huaisan’s corpse and smiled faintly.

The next moment.

Countless streams of black qi poured out from his body, shrouding the entire Great Vajra Temple!

....

Han Yuan was in his meditation room, burning the midnight oil, when his expression suddenly shifted.

He sensed that something was very wrong.

’This is the Great Vajra Temple... Logically speaking... this shouldn’t be happening.’

At first, Han Yuan suspected he was just imagining things.

Because this was the Great Vajra Temple, a place watched over by Monk Xu Hai.

Let alone Evil Spirits, not even an Evil Demon Seed would dare cause trouble here.

”Meow~”

”I smell a very disgusting aura!”

The Orange Cat, who had been sound asleep, suddenly woke up.

”Fat Thief, you sense it too?” Han Yuan frowned.

”Yes... And this smell isn’t just disgusting. It also makes my heart pound.”

The Orange Cat’s gaze grew uncharacteristically grave.

’Looks like I wasn’t mistaken after all.’

Han Yuan opened the window.

Only then did he discover that the outside was shrouded in a thick black fog, plunging everything into a deep, eerie darkness.

’Something has really happened...’

Han Yuan took a deep breath.

He first put away the Nine Mountains Heart Guarding True Skill, slung the Heaven-Defying Saber onto his back, and then led the Orange Cat out the door.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, he instantly felt a thick malevolence spreading wantonly throughout the Great Vajra Temple.

”Fat Thief, we really need to be careful this time.”

Han Yuan said in a low voice.

’To dare to pull a stunt like this right in the Great Vajra Temple... an Evil Demon Seed wouldn’t be enough. Only a Source Evil Seed could do this.’

”Meow~”

”I know.”

The Orange Cat nodded.

Han Yuan first followed the corridor toward the main square of the Great Vajra Temple.

At this moment, the Great Vajra Temple had become dark and treacherous. Black fog was everywhere, so thick that not even moonlight could penetrate it.

Han Yuan moved cautiously through the Great Vajra Temple.

The black fog not only obscured his vision but also seemed to muffle all sound. Han Yuan couldn’t hear anything at all.

The entire Great Vajra Temple seemed to have fallen into a dead, gloomy silence.

However, as he approached a Buddha Hall, Han Yuan saw the corpse of a monk.

The monk was leaning against a wall, his facial features a bloody mess, his appearance completely unrecognizable.

But Han Yuan could feel a strong, lingering evil aura from the body.

’It seems it really is a Source Evil Seed...’

Han Yuan said softly.

With that, he didn’t linger and turned to leave.

Just then.

The monk’s corpse on the ground suddenly flashed with an evil light in its eyes. It rose silently, its fingernails growing frantically as it swiped viciously at Han Yuan’s neck.

At that very moment.

The Orange Cat on Han Yuan’s shoulder abruptly turned its head and spat out a Black Flame Bomb.

BANG!

The monk’s Evil Corpse was instantly knocked back several meters, its entire body erupting in black flames.

In moments, it was completely reduced to ashes.

”These contaminated corpses are such a pain... If we don’t clean them up, they’ll become a huge disaster sooner or later.”

Han Yuan said without even turning his head.

”No problem!”

”Lord Meow is a pro at this stuff.”

The Orange Cat laughed.

The two continued on their way.

Along the way, they encountered many more monks’ corpses.

Han Yuan didn’t even need to act; the Orange Cat could deal with them directly.

When he arrived at the main hall’s square of the Vajra Temple, he saw that the place was in utter chaos.

Several Innate Grandmasters from the Great Vajra Temple were leading a group of monks in a fierce battle against a horde of bizarre Evil Spirits.

They were Evil Corpses that seemed to have appeared from nowhere, possessing immense strength and powerful explosive force.

There were even a few exceptionally ferocious Corpse Kings.

The two sides were fighting with extreme intensity.

Corpse after corpse had already fallen to the ground.

Just as Han Yuan was about to draw his saber and join the battle,

Monk Kongneng, with whom Han Yuan had interacted before, shouted, ”Donor Han, go to the Demon Suppression Tower!”

”That’s the real target!”

Hearing this, Han Yuan’s expression changed as he instantly understood something.

He nodded at Monk Kongneng and turned to rush in the direction of the Demon Suppression Tower.

Fortunately, he had been to the Demon Suppression Tower once before and knew the way.

”Han Yuan, what’s wrong with the Demon Suppression Tower?”

The Orange Cat asked.

”Do you remember Master Xu Shi once told us that the Vajra Temple was also suppressing a piece of Source Seed Shredded Meat?”

Han Yuan said quickly.

”I remember....”

”I get it!”

”The Source Evil Seed attacking the Great Vajra Temple tonight is after that Source Seed Shredded Meat!”

The Orange Cat said, suddenly enlightened.

After Han Yuan’s reminder, it finally understood.

”That’s right... because Master Xu Shi also said before... these Source Evil Seeds desperately crave Source Seed Shredded Meat.”

”Once they devour it, their power will increase wildly...”

”If I’m not mistaken, that Source Seed Shredded Meat is probably being suppressed inside the Demon Suppression Tower.”

”That’s why Monk Kongneng told me to go over immediately.”

Han Yuan said in a grave tone.

”Then let’s hurry over.”

”It’ll be trouble if that Elder Monk Xu Hai can’t hold on.”

The Orange Cat nodded.

The man and cat shot toward the Demon Suppression Tower like a bolt of lightning.

RUMBLE!!!

As Han Yuan got closer to the Demon Suppression Tower, he heard a series of terrifying roars.

In addition, they were accompanied by flashes of golden light.

The terrifying aura made even Han Yuan tremble.

Han Yuan moved forward another few hundred meters and finally got a clear view of the situation.

He saw Monk Xu Hai transformed into a giant over three meters tall with bulging, knotted muscles. His body glowed with golden light as he wielded a Demon-Subduing Pestle, repeatedly smashing it toward a completely black monster!

The monster was also over three meters tall. Its head had no facial features, its skin was pitch-black, many bone spikes protruded from its spine, and it wielded a Human Head Zen Staff.

BANG BANG BANG!!!

The Demon-Subduing Pestle and the Human Head Zen Staff continuously clashed, creating explosions like thunderstones and sending out visible shockwaves.

The sight made even Han Yuan’s scalp tingle, but it also ignited the fighting spirit in his heart.

But just then.

A voice entered Han Yuan’s mind.

”Donor Han, I must trouble you to enter the Demon Suppression Tower...”

”The Source Seed may have sensed the Source Evil Seed’s aura and is undergoing a mutation.”

”On the Ninth Layer, one of our Great Vajra Temple’s patriarchs is on guard. I don’t know what the situation is right now. Please go and check on it.”

The one who sent the message to Han Yuan was, of course, none other than Xu Hai.

Hearing this, Han Yuan nodded and turned to rush toward the Demon Suppression Tower.

And at that moment, the stone gate of the Demon Suppression Tower slowly creaked open.

Just then.

A foul, rotten stench washed over him.

A Corpse King with a hideous face and rotting flesh all over its body suddenly lunged out from the shadows, its withered black claws swiping violently at Han Yuan’s head.

”You’re courting death!”

Han Yuan growled and directly drew the Heaven-Defying Saber from his back.

It had been a long time since he had used his saber; the long-lost feeling washed over him again!

Han Yuan gripped the Heaven-Defying Saber with both hands and let out a low shout. The deep, dark blade fell like a silken ribbon of darkness, carrying the terrifying momentum to shatter mountains.

SCHLICK!

The Corpse King let out a bloodcurdling scream in mid-air as Han Yuan sliced it clean in two with a single strike.

The instant the two halves of the corpse hit the ground, the Orange Cat opened its mouth and spat out a Black Flame Bomb.

The corpse immediately caught fire, emitting a scorched, foul odor as it turned to ash.
