Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 495: Chapter 393: Breaking Through to Sky Knight

The thunderclouds dispersed.

The light of dawn scattered the darkness, along with the terrifying, world-ending pressure.

Raylo stood quietly on the edge of the high ground, his hand tightly clutching the Heart of the Giant Beast, which was still beating powerfully.

A vast torrent of Life Energy surged from the heart, flowing through his palm and nourishing every corner of his body.

This energy was so pure and warm that his body, exhausted from continuous battle, was rapidly recovering.

But his heart was anything but at ease.

In his mind, the silent thunderclouds, the Thunderboltous Giant Serpent that stretched across the sky, and the backs of the Duke and Lord Astra as they fought the Sea of Thunderbolt played over and over.

That was the true pinnacle of Power in this world.

Before a cataclysm, all are but ants.

If the Duke hadn’t been on the front lines, forget about seizing the Heart of the Giant Beast—when the Thunderbolt Sea fell, the entire army of the Thunder Dragon Duchy, tens of thousands strong, would have been annihilated in the Thunderstorm, reduced to ash in an instant.

Raylo clenched his fists. The desire for Power burned in his heart like a blazing Flame.

He looked down at the Heart of the Giant Beast in his arms, and a bold idea rose uncontrollably in his mind.

’I can’t wait any longer.’

’With the immense energy from the Heart of the Giant Beast, this is the perfect time to break through to Tier Four Sky Knight.’

’I need Power—now! Immediately!’

”Ed, Alex!”

Raylo called the two men over.

”Here, my lord!”

Ed and Alex immediately stepped forward.

”Relay my orders. Have the Giant Legion and the Moonlight Knight Order take over the perimeter defense of the camp. No one is to come within half a step of my tent.”

Raylo said in a low voice.

”I’m going into seclusion to achieve a breakthrough.”

”Seclusion?”

Ed was taken aback. ’At a time like this?’

”This is the best time,” Raylo said, patting Ed’s shoulder.

”Yes, my lord!”

The two accepted their orders and left, immediately beginning to set up the defenses.

Raylo said no more and strode into his tent.

Inside the tent.

Raylo sat down cross-legged and carefully placed the Jade-like heart in front of him.

He could feel the Life Energy contained within the Heart of the Giant Beast, raging and turbulent like an erupting volcano.

He took a deep breath, centered himself, and brought his condition to its peak.

Moonlight lay on the rug by the entrance. The two rascals, Coal Ball and Lightning, were being well-behaved for once, guarding the entrance with their leader, Moonlight.

Raylo extended his hands and slowly placed them on the Heart of the Giant Beast.

OMM!

An unimaginable, torrential power, like a bursting dam, instantly surged into his body!

Raylo’s body jolted violently, and a faint CRACKLING sound came from all the bones in his body.

’This energy is too immense!’

It completely ignored Raylo’s guidance, rampaging violently through his meridians as if trying to tear his body apart from the inside.

Intense pain instantly swept through him. Beads of sweat the size of beans broke out on his forehead, but he gritted his teeth, desperately held on to his consciousness, and circulated his Fighting Spirit with all his might, trying to guide and tame the frenzied energy.

The Sea of Fighting Spirit inside him was now churning with monstrous waves.

The gaseous Fighting Spirit was thrown into chaos by the foreign Life Energy, spinning and compressing wildly.

Before this brutish Power, the Barrier of a Peak Earth Knight was like paper-mâché, easily torn open.

But Raylo knew it wasn’t enough.

The most crucial step from Tier Three Earth Knight to Tier Four Sky Knight is ”Qi Sea Transformation Liquid.”

Only by completely compressing and condensing the entire Sea of Fighting Spirit from a gaseous state into a liquid one could the breakthrough be considered truly complete.

This step had blocked countless exceptionally talented Knights, who spent their entire lives unable to cross this threshold.

The amount of energy required was simply too immense.

The so-called Breakthrough Potions worked by using the massive amount of energy contained within them to help a Knight overcome their bottleneck.

And now, the Heart of the Giant Beast had given him this chance.

’Bring it on!’

Raylo roared in his heart. He gave up on trying to restrain the energy and instead threw open his Sea of Fighting Spirit, allowing the torrent to pour in.

The pain intensified, and his consciousness began to blur.

He felt as if his body were a balloon being continuously inflated, on the verge of exploding at any moment.

Just as he was about to lose his grip, a single drop of golden liquid quietly formed in the center of his Sea of Fighting Spirit.

’It worked!’

Raylo’s spirits soared.

As if on cue, the entire gaseous Sea of Fighting Spirit began to rapidly condense around that single golden drop.

One drop, two drops, ten, a hundred...

More and more golden liquid formed, soon gathering into a small lake at the bottom of his Sea of Fighting Spirit.

And the lake’s surface area was still expanding at a visible rate.

This process was far gentler than breaking through the bottleneck, more like a natural, inevitable transformation.

The pain in Raylo’s body rapidly subsided, replaced by an unprecedented feeling of fullness and control.

He could clearly feel his Power undergoing a monumental, qualitative change.

If his previous Fighting Spirit was an ethereal mist, what he had now was like heavy mercury.

The energy contained in every single drop of liquid Fighting Spirit far surpassed what he had before.

An unknown amount of time passed. When the last wisp of gaseous Fighting Spirit had been converted into liquid, Raylo’s Sea of Fighting Spirit had completely transformed into a golden ocean.

The liquid Fighting Spirit swirled slowly in the lake.
