Chaotic Sword God

Chapter 3988: New Troubles

“Pavilion master, do you know how long the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor has remained in the Sword Region of Violet Heavens?” Jian Chen asked after some thought.

“Three years after the matter near the Skyscraping World ended, the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor appeared in the Sword Region of Violet Heavens. Apart from leaving once a few days ago, he basically did not set foot away from there.” The pavilion master glanced at Jian Chen deeply and said, “And the reason why he left a few days ago was also connected to you. The disturbance you caused on the Jade’s End Heaven has caught the attention of quite a few people.”

When he heard that, Jian Chen immediately felt very glad. Fortunately, he had left the Jade’s End Heaven immediately, or he might have been discovered.

He was confident that the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor must have scoured every corner of the Jade’s End Heaven after travelling all the way there.

“He only went to the Jade’s End Heaven a few days ago. Now, he’s already back on the Reverent Observance Heaven. It’s not like the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor is lacking a sovereign god artifact. Why is he so persistent about obtaining my possessions? I’ve even begun to suspect that he knows the twin swords are on me.” Jian Chen felt rather pained as well. Of all the places the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor had to watch, it just had to be the Sword Region of Violet Heavens, which prevented him from retrieving the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain.

“If it were any other sovereign god artifact, the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor would want to get his hands on it, but he would still care about his reputation. However, the recovery sovereign god artifact on you is different. The Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor wants it more than anyone else. In the near future, he will face a tribulation of life or death. If he has the recovery sovereign god artifact, then his chances of surviving the tribulation will greatly increase.”

“That’s only the first reason. The second reason is also because he’s noticed how you’re relatively close with the Heavenly Star Palace. He’s afraid that the Heavenly Star Palace will gain a sovereign god artifact as a result, which also forces him to come after you.”

“As a result, your grudge with the Immortal Feather sect is not as simple as killing a few great elders anymore. The situation has already become even more complicated.”

“However, with the fact that you killed a few great elders of the Immortal Feather sect, the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor won’t sully his name too much even if he comes after you personally, even if he robs you of your sovereign god artifact. Even if the other courts of heaven participate and compete for it, their actions will not be as justified as the Immortal Feather sect’s,” said the pavilion master.

Jian Chen fell silent. He had already begun thinking about how to draw the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor away.

The Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor had to leave the Sword Region of Violet Heavens. No, just leaving the Sword Region of Violet Heavens was not enough. He had to travel far away from the Reverent Observance Heaven. Only then did he have a chance at retrieving the Energy-gathering Divine Mountain in the Sword Region of Violet Heavens.

At this moment, the pavilion master sighed gently and said, “You were far too brash with the matter on the Jade’s End Heaven. You shouldn’t have destroyed the cauldron of pills that Daowei Huanru wanted to get refined. Even if Daowei Chengqing once set up a trap for you in the sacred land of the Observance Heaven City, you shouldn’t have angered Daowei Huanru.”

“That’s because Daowei Huanru really does care about you. Even though I donʼt know the reason for it, I can feel that Daowei Huanru has no ill intentions towards you. I firmly believe that even if she found out the twin swords were on you, she would not do anything detrimental to you.”

“If you can obtain Daowei Huanru’s support, then it would be a piece of cake for you to retrieve the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens’ Energy-gathering Divine Mountain.”

“Pavilion master, the Illusionary Ancestor is the second ancestor of the Waymight clan after all. The Waymight clan is after the twin swords,” Jian Chen said sternly.

“It is different between people,” the pavilion master said slowly. After a slight pause, he said extremely cautiously, “And I suspect that Daowei Huanru already knows the secret that the twin swords are on you.”

“That’s because Daowei Huanru has been more attentive in her investigation than any other expert. On top of that, she possesses an additional avenue of information compared to other experts, which is the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance.”

When he heard that, Jian Chen furrowed his brows. The Illusionary Ancestor already knew about the existence of the twin swords?

If the Illusionary Ancestor had obtained some information from the elder princess of the Heavenly Palace of Great Radiance, then it would not be so surprising if she knew about the existence of the twin swords.

Although it was not very likely for the elder princess to disclose his secret of the twin swords according to his understanding of her, the Illusionary Ancestor was a reputed expert who had made a name for herself a long time ago after all. Her knowledge and insight was definitely beyond Fang Jing’s. Who knew if she could deduce some clues.

However, despite knowing about the twin swords, the Illusionary Ancestor still chose to keep his secret. She did not try to take the twin swords either, nor did she tell his secret to Daowei Fatian.

Why did the Illusionary Ancestor treat him in such a special way?

That doubt had lingered in Jian Chen’s mind for a very long time. He struggled to find an answer.

After a moment of thought, Jian Chen said slowly, “I am indeed indebted to the Illusionary Ancestor. However, if I could choose again with what happened on the Azure Light Mountain of the Jade’s End Heaven, I would still make the same choice. The Master of Profound Secrets must die. If I didn’t have the ability to kill him, then so be it. Since I did, then even letting him live for a day longer in this world brings me guilt towards the deceased disciples of the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens.”

“As for the Illusionary Ancestor’s loss, I can only hope that I will have the opportunity in the future to repay her…”

The pavilion master laughed. “If you want to repay Daowei Huanru, I’m afraid you’ll struggle to find the opportunity now, as her strength has soared once more. She’s already reached the Ninth Heavenly Layer. She’s completely on par with heavenly emperors.”

“What? The Illusionary Ancestor’s strength has already reached the Ninth Heavenly Layer? The tribulation of decline has already ended for her?” Jian Chen was both surprised and overjoyed.

When he heard Jian Chen mention the tribulation of decline, the pavilion master furrowed his brows slightly. “According to my understanding of her, her tribulation of decline should not have ended so quickly. Moreover, the tribulation of decline this time was more severe than any of the previous times. Surprisingly, not only did it end prematurely, but her secondary body successfully reached the Eighth Heavenly Layer as well.”

“Even if her secondary body has reached the Eighth Heavenly Layer, merging the two bodies is not easy, yet when she reappeared again, her primary and secondary bodies had already merged together, breaking through to the Ninth Heavenly Layer.”

The pavilion master’s voice was filled with amazement as if he also found this unbelievable. At the same time, there was a hint of pity in his voice, pity for Jian Chen that he had failed to gain her favour.

Jian Chen and the pavilion master conversed for four whole hours. From the pavilion master, Jian Chen learnt many pieces of useful information.

After these four hours, Jian Chen and the pavilion master bade farewell to one another. Afterwards, he was sent back to the inn through the same method as he had arrived.

The Observance Heaven City was absolutely safe. Even Ninth Heavenly Layer Immortal Exalts did not have the courage to stir up trouble here. However, catching the attention of one in the Observance Heaven City would still lead to tremendous problems when leaving.

As a result, in consideration of Jian Chen, the pavilion master did not make him leave through the main entrance. He personally sent him away.

Returning to the inn, Jian Chen walked over to his bed and sat down. He sank into his thoughts. Various names like Fang Jing, the Chaotic Star Heavenly Emperor, the Heavenly Emperor of Sword Radiance, and so on flashed through his mind. He pondered about how he would deal with the Soaring Immortal Heavenly Emperor who watched the Sword Region of Violet Heavens closely.
