One Trait Draw Per Year Even Simulations Count

[Year Eleven, age thirty-seven.]

[The all-out offensive by the rebel armies on Fortune Star has begun.]

[In these past years, because you set the example and directly decapitated the core leadership of the Winged God Church on Fortune Star, the various branches of the Winged God Church fell into chaos and scattered across the region.]

[This gave the uprisings across the land the fertile soil they needed to erupt.]

[You are the Grand Marshal of the rebel army, but you are not the only rebel force.]

[Rebel armies have sprung up all across Fortune Star.]

[There are many people with leadership talent, but often they simply never had the chance to shine.]

[Now that the opportunity has arrived, rebel armies have sprouted up everywhere like bamboo shoots after spring rain.]

[But without exception, they all want to merge under your banner and accept your leadership.]

[But you can’t do that.] [There’s no way you could lead a force of over a million people all at once.]

[Even if you did, for the majority of that force, you could only guarantee their food and clothing.]

[To improve combat effectiveness, strengthen ideological education, and equip every soldier with full gear.]

[That’s simply not achievable at this stage.]

[So your directive to the rebel armies across the land was for them to develop independently.]

[Those with immortal roots in their ranks could be sent to White Porridge City headquarters for training. If they didn’t want to come, or wanted to train their own people, that was fine too. You wouldn’t force it.]

[If they could send over a soldier with an immortal root, you would allocate a batch of provisions and weapons to the local rebel army.]

[Naturally, anyone with an immortal root would definitely come to pledge themselves to you. Those rebel leaders had no resources to train cultivators anyway, so keeping them served no purpose.]

[Might as well trade them for resources.]

[Over time, the tens of thousands of rebels in your headquarters basically all possessed immortal roots and could cultivate.]

[That was just the development of these past years.]

[With the start of the full-scale war, your direct rebel force pushed deep into various regions to engage in battle, continuously absorbing scattered local rebels and civilians along the way, causing their numbers to swell rapidly.]

[The equipment production lines in the rear were working around the clock, smoke billowing from their chimneys, so that every soldier in your army could be outfitted with a full set of gear.]

[Your rebel forces split into four routes - east, south, west, and north - converging with local rebel armies to jointly eliminate the local branch churches of the Winged God Church and eradicate the alien forces oppressing the human race.]

[Before every large-scale battle, you would personally strike first, slaughtering all active cultivators above the Core Formation realm in the area. Even though some stragglers always slipped through the net, as long as the numbers were manageable, it wasn’t a big problem.]

[As for Qi Transformation realm cultivators, there were quite a few of them, but the rebel army needed these experience packs.]

[If they just rolled over everything with no resistance at all, the rebel army would never get proper training.]

[Resistance means sacrifice.]

[But you believe this is necessary.]

[Without the tempering of blood and tears, a soldier’s character can never be forged.]

[Ideological education is just theory. Theory must be put into practice before it can be engraved into one’s very bones.]

[The magical artifacts and spiritual treasures meticulously designed by Myriad Treasures Child Goddess played a huge role in the uprising war on Fortune Star.]

[The Rebel Army Crossbows in the soldiers’ hands alone had killed countless Qi Transformation realm cultivators.]

[And the Rebel Army Ten-Man Crossbow, that devastating spiritual treasure-class weapon, had even achieved the terrifying feat of killing Core Formation realm cultivators.]

[The Rebel Army armor also protected the soldiers well, greatly reducing the mortality rate.]

[Gunpowder smoke rose on all sides, and the flames of war stretched across the land.]

[The rebel headquarters and the local rebel armies, driven by the horns of war, captured cities and took fortresses along the way, eliminating alien reactionaries and liberating the human populations across the land.]

[In the midst of this raging global war, more and more humans enlisted and joined the army, contributing their strength and their lives to this great human uprising on Fortune Star.]

[The old, the weak, the women, and the children stayed in the rear to handle logistics - growing crops, raising silkworms, weaving cloth. Everyone was doing what they could.]

[You were pretty busy too.]

[Busy hunting down alien cultivator experts across the land and then swatting them dead with a single palm strike.]

[Year Twelve, age thirty-eight.]

[As the rebel armies continued to win victory after victory, the resources they could acquire grew more and more abundant. Many rebel forces now had their own territories.]

[Some rebel leaders sent a petition urging you to take the throne, hoping you would declare yourself emperor and rule over the entire human race of Fortune Star.]

[You rejected the proposal and replied to the rebel leaders across the land, telling them that while you wouldn’t take the throne, they were free to declare themselves kings.]

[The war on Fortune Star would eventually come to an end.]

[This planet was bound to enter a governance phase eventually.]

[Conquering a kingdom is easy; governing it is hard.]

[You figured it was time to raise gu.]

[Let the rebel armies each declare themselves kings and see how well they governed their own territories.]

[In the end, you’d pick a common sovereign for them, or they could control the intensity of their conflicts and fight it out to produce one themselves.]

[All of that was a matter for later.]

[Compared to the grand plan of this simulation of yours, the internal problems on Fortune Star were not your primary concern.]

[Year Thirteen, age thirty-nine.]

[The rebel armies on Fortune Star now had eighteen Heavenly Kings and sixty-four Earthly Kings.]

[These were titles given to them by the common folk. The kings themselves didn’t distinguish between Heavenly and Earthly Kings. They simply styled themselves as King Pingjiang, King Guoshan, King Wu, King Yue, and so on.]

[It was just the common people ranking them by their strength and the size of their territories.]

[The Winged God Church and the alien races, on the other hand, called them Rebel Kings.]

[The main forces of the Rebel Kings were mostly composed of mortals, with very few cultivators, giving them extremely limited combat power.]

[But the one hundred thousand soldiers of your direct-command army were extremely formidable.]

[Because not only were they all cultivators, they had full equipment and the richest combat experience as well.]

[You dispatched these one hundred thousand across the land to assist the Rebel Kings in battle, preventing them from being wiped out wholesale by alien cultivators.]

[Even so, news would still occasionally come out that some Rebel King had been annihilated to the last man.]

[Fortune Star was no small place either. You couldn’t possibly look after every corner and every single person.]

[As the great wheel of history rolls forward, there will always be those who accidentally fall into the water.]

[The restoration of Star Harbor began the same year the full-scale war broke out.]

[Now it had been completely rebuilt, reconnecting Fortune Star to the interstellar channels.]

[Xiang Xing, clad in a suit of silver heavy armor, stood by your side, gazing at the seven-colored rainbow pillar that pierced heaven and earth, his eyes burning with fighting spirit.]

[”Grand Marshal, the war on Fortune Star is almost over. We’re going to attack Lingwei Star next, aren’t we?”]

[”Correct. If you count the years, the main headquarters of the Winged God Church should already know something’s wrong on Fortune Star. So the enemy will be prepared. We’re facing a hard battle.”]

[”Didn’t the Grand Marshal say we have a secret weapon to deal with them?”]

[You smiled mysteriously.]

[”That’s right... By the way, last time I asked you to go be a Rebel King. Why didn’t you go?”]

[The Rebel Kings on Fortune Star kept changing, and that was actually because some of them were originally your own men.]

[Through observation and judgment, you sent out those who possessed both cultivation aptitude and leadership ability to develop on their own.]

[”Xiang Xing only wants to serve by the Grand Marshal’s side. I have no interest in being any kind of king!”]

[”Alright then. Come on, let me show you our secret weapon.”]
