Chapter 493: Chapter 429 Heretic King_1

Facing the wrath-filled Shepherd’s Staff, Matthes finally took a step back, but his shadow strangely remained in place.

Thick blood gushed continuously from the shadow. Fresh red muscles and sinews swiftly grew, intertwining and tangling around a pure white skeleton. In an instant, they formed the outline of a human figure. Bone wings unfurled behind it, and pure white feathers grew rapidly. A divine Halo rose above its head, showering down pure white light. Then, it illuminated a patch of ghastly flesh. This seemingly perfect shell, with intact organs and symmetrical muscles, burned with vigorous Source Fluctuation. Yet, from head to toe, not an inch of skin covered it. All the muscles, dripping with blood, lay exposed under the Halo, as if the skin had been savagely stripped away, leaving such a grotesque appearance.

Its grey-white eyeballs swiftly rotated. Two golden pupils lit up, fixing on Osiris, who was within arm’s reach. A hand with clearly defined muscles rose, fingers spreading wide.

BOOM!

An invisible barrier materialized in front of the fingers, colliding forcefully with the Shepherd’s Staff’s blow.

Immediately after, the Skin-peeling Angel took a step forward. It drew upon the blood spilled by the Double Helix Secret Meter and grew rapidly. After three steps, it had transformed into a giant no less formidable than Osiris. Raising its arms covered in thick blood, it suddenly grasped Osiris’s steel wrists, grappling with steel.

”Sorry, but I don’t have time to play games with kids, The Fly King,” Matthes said indifferently, removing his hat. He continued coldly, ”Let this man-made angel, Casimora, keep you company... I have other business to tend to.”

At that moment, the graceful, middle-aged gentleman suddenly disintegrated. He turned into an endless torrent of black blood that swept toward the inverted giant tree, instantly engulfing it. In the blink of an eye, fragments of the double helix crystal fell from the sky like a torrential downpour. They grew rapidly, proliferating wildly. They morphed into crisscrossed Long Spears, wrapped with the Terrible Power bestowed by Nowhere, deeply embedding Matthes’s lifetime of created laws and frameworks into the body of the Remaining Evils of the World. The crystal prison instantly sealed the Remaining Evils of the World within its confines.

In the distance, the Vice Principal’s wrist lifted again. The scissors fell, and everyone’s vision blurred, then blurred again in quick succession.

CRASH! A ghastly crack formed in the Vice Principal’s scissors.

A cold laugh came from the depths of the Abyss in Nowhere. Time clipping has its limits, after all. Sometimes, even the sequence doesn’t matter; as long as a few key phases aren’t interfered with, the outcome will always be on their side.

Within the bloody waters of the crystal prison, Matthes’s face emerged, looking indifferently toward Osiris. Then, countless double helix crystals pierced through the Skin-peeling Angel’s spine. Threads of light surged within them.

As if a long time had passed in an instant, the Skin-peeling Angel’s flesh quickly decayed, emitting a foul odor. Yet, the beastly face gradually revealed from beneath the flesh became increasingly hideous. It raised its head high and slammed it ferociously into Osiris’s head.

Huai Shi’s vision suddenly went dark. He felt a terrifying shock extending from Osiris’s sensory transfer, causing a stream of pitch-black blood to flow from his mouth and nose. It was just Source feedback. Huai Shi was already struggling to hold on against such a massive entity. Ultimately, he, the pilot, was mismatched with Osiris in terms of inherent power, making it difficult for him to fully unleash Osiris’s capabilities.

The decaying angel looked up, unperturbed. It let go of its grip and pulled a slender bone knife from between its rotting wings. Then, it thrust forward, driving the blade deep into Osiris’s belly.

Huai Shi’s vision blurred once more. He felt dizzy, his ears ringing.

”Can you hold on, Huai Shi?” Beelzebub’s anxious voice came through.

”Shut up, you’re annoying!” Huai Shi shouted angrily. ”Do I look like a preschooler to you, needing to whine twice after just a little bump?”

”Heh, acting tough at this time won’t lead to anything good,” Beelzebub said.

”What’s it to you?” Huai Shi swallowed a mouthful of blood that tasted like rust, took a deep breath, and forcibly regained consciousness. ”Just watch my performance!”

It’s not like I’m going to die, Huai Shi thought. Besides, I’m used to death. A mere dizziness is nothing.

In the throes of intense pain, Osiris roared. Disregarding the wound in its abdomen, it began a furious charge against the decaying angel.

You like stabbing people? Huai Shi examined the decaying face and placed Osiris’s hand on the bone knife that had pierced its shell, grasping the knife handle and the decaying angel’s palm together. He clenched tightly.

A shattering sound erupted as the hand, along with the handle of the bone knife, were crushed to pieces. Casually pulling the broken blade from its abdomen and tossing it aside, Huai Shi, through Osiris, lifted a hand, aiming straight at the Skin-peeling Angel’s forehead.

LEFT HOOK!

Amidst the thunderous roar, the Skin-peeling Angel shook violently. Countless pieces of rotten flesh flew off, exposing the hideous beastly face underneath as it staggered backward.

”Come on, brother!” Huai Shi clenched his fists tightly and pressed forward. ”Let’s spar!”

RIGHT HOOK!

BOOM!

Amidst the deafening noise, the Skin-peeling Angel’s two eyeballs flew out of their sockets as it raised its hand, creating another invisible wall in front of it. And Osiris’s Shepherd’s Staff swung up once more, targeting the wall in front of it and sweeping across!

A loud boom echoed, the void trembled, and the invisible wall cracked. Then, before it could start repairing, the Shepherd’s Staff smashed down again in the same spot. Swinging with brute force as if wielding a baseball bat, Huai Shi crudely utilized Osiris’s immense power, not minding the feedback and impact it brought. For the third time, he swept it out!

The invisible wall crumbled apart. Terrifying airwaves spread, and the Shepherd’s Staff smashed onto the Skin-peeling Angel’s forehead, cracking its skull. The Underworld Giant roared, stepping forward, its foot descending in a crushing stomp. It completely pulverized one of the angel’s legs, while its other foot was firmly planted on the angel’s chest. The Shepherd’s Staff hung down, aimed at the wildly struggling, twisting beast’s face.

”Don’t move,” Huai Shi said coldly. ”Judgment has begun, monster.”

In Osiris’s hands, the Shepherd’s Staff swung up. After a few hasty movements in the chaos, it was lifted behind its head, aiming for the Skin-peeling Angel’s head. Thunder roared and whooshed as the staff swung down!

The sound of Space Break erupted like a sonic boom. A shattered head flew towards the endless Abyss, never to be seen again. Good shot!

In its place, the headless corpse rapidly collapsed, turning into countless droplets of blood spraying everywhere. The crimson Osiris looked back, a sinister smile on its face, at the inverted giant tree within the crystal cage.

”You want this?” The Underworld Giant advanced step by step, trampling the Group Star underfoot. The twin rods in its hands slowly unfolded. ”Why didn’t you say so earlier? Let me help you...”

From within the shadows, a spider-like Giant Beast suddenly shot out, entangling itself with Osiris. But immediately after, it was torn to shreds. Only a few severed limbs remained, trampled into the mud as Osiris advanced, unrestrained.

”Do not get in the way, The Fly King.” A giant, detached, and cold eye emerged from the pool of blood, staring down the slowly approaching figure. ”Just an Afterimage of Osiris, what can it accomplish?”

”Even if you’re ungrateful, that should be enough—” With Matthes’ chilling words, a great disturbance burst forth once again within the Chaos.

In the dark Abyss above their heads, a terrifying blaze shot towards them like a meteor, striking rapidly. A dazzling thunderstorm erupted from amidst it. A gaunt old man fell from the sky. Bare-chested, his muscles twisted around his frame like iron wires, hunchbacked and ferocious. Thirty-six menacing black Halos loomed behind him. They fluctuated as his fingers casually swept through the air, the Heaven Drum resonating, unleashing Terrible Power and thunderous light many times greater than a Heaven Collapse from his emaciated frame.

The once The Crowned One, ’Indra,’ had returned to the world of men. But this time, he was no longer the pivotal leader in the India Genealogy but the ’Heretic King,’ solidified and tainted by the Abyss! Under successive reinforcements from Golden Dawn, this one man alone suppressed four Fifth Stage Sublimators from the Astronomical Society. He effortlessly raised his other hand and snapped his fingers at the distant Jurisdiction Bureau warships.

A thread-thin bolt of lightning burst from his fingertips. It stretched for millions of miles in an instant, piercing straight through the warship and extending millions of miles further into the distant Abyss. Then, a terrifying blaze erupted from that slender line of thunder. It expanded rapidly, swallowing everything in its path and leaving an indelible afterimage in everyone’s eyes.

With one strike, the Rainbow Bridge’s Border transit station was utterly shattered. Even as replacement ships swiftly ascended, a brief gap in battlefield support appeared. Finally, he turned back, looking towards Osiris.

In an instant, countless piercing alarms sounded. Huai Shi was startled. For the first time, he felt such a strong aura of death—despite being shielded by Osiris’s Armor, he still shuddered. He saw the old man slowly lift his eyes. He could see no whites or pupils, only a spread of raging Abyssal thunder. When Huai Shi looked at him, the old man was also looking back.

The old man raised a hand, forming a seal before his eyes. His lips moved silently.

”—MOO!”

Huai Shi’s vision darkened. It felt like a bolt of thunder had been forcibly stuffed into his brain. Despite the Judgment Armor, the Heretic King’s divine might was exerted unobstructed upon Huai Shi’s Soul, causing his consciousness to shatter instantly and heavily injuring his Soul. In a daze, he vomited a large mouthful of blood.

The shrill alarm rang out again. Osiris fell backward, crashing to the ground.

The expressionless Heretic King stepped forward, preparing to eliminate this lingering threat. But then he heard Matthes’ voice from behind, ”Just a prancing joker. It doesn’t matter if you leave him be. Besides... Auden should leave something behind.”

The Heretic King indifferently withdrew his gaze.

”Then let’s go,” the gaunt old man said with a wave of his hand. ”You’ve already delayed for far too long.” Accompanying his words, a light like a Heaven Ladder fell from Nowhere, enveloping the Group Star. It locked onto the crystal cage containing the Remaining Evils of the World and the barely alive Rotten Dream, dragging them all as they began to ascend rapidly, packed up and taken away.

Meanwhile, a white dove, as if lost, flew into the center of the battlefield.
