Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

At the same time Qing Yi and Chun Hua were waiting for another opportunity to escape from the collapsing spatial formation, deeper within the spatial formation, a middle-aged man smiled brightly as the space all around him and a few others trembled violently as ancient formation symbols flashed in and out of existence. ”Finally, the damnable spatial formation is running out of strength to sustain itself! Thought I was going to be trapped in here for the rest of my life. Good thing someone like you ended up trapped in here, or we might never have had the opportunity to do anything to this damnable formation.” His words earning a small smile from the surrounding people, who similarly began expressing their gratitude towards a hunchback old woman standing next to the middle-aged man.

”No problem, I was trapped in here as well and without destroying this formation, I might have also been trapped in here until my natural lifespan ran out. Not to mention, without the assistance of everyone, it would have been impossible for me to damage such a terrifying spatial formation.” Humbly denying the praise, the hunchback old lady smiled slightly. Knowing very well that without the person standing before her, it would have been impossible to do anything to the ancient spatial formation.

After all, the ancient spatial formation had been created by an ancient cultivator that had at the very least reached the Star Creation Realm and was someone who had not only reached the Origin Realm in the Dao of Space, but also the Origin Realm in the Dao of Formations. An existence that was undoubtedly only a single step away from reaching the Venerable Realm.

Even now, the only reason why she had been able to successfully break the formation of such a terrifying individual had to do with the assistance of the middle-aged man before her who was a senior figure at the Star Creation Realm that had ended up trapped within the ancient spatial formation tens of thousands of years ago.

Without the assistance of such a powerful figure, she would simply have had no way of ever damaging the ancient spatial formation with her own strength only recently having reached the Later Stages of the Celestial Immortal Realm. Even if the formation itself had suffered critical damage over the long years since it had first been established.

As for why someone at only the Late Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm had been able to help someone at the Star Creation Realm and the other powerful figures around damage such a powerful formation? It had to do with her being a formation master specializing in the Dao of Space. Allowing her to slowly, over a few thousand years since encountering this group of powerful figures trapped within the ancient spatial formation, track down the location of formation pillar that these powerful figures had just destroyed. Destabilizing the overall formation that had now lost one of its primary anchors.

Still, this was far from enough to take down such a powerful ancient spatial formation and the main reason why it had started collapsing had to do with a buildup of flaws over the years that had resulted in a disastrous chain reaction following the destruction of a foundational formation pillar. Leading to the overall collapse that was now taking place.

”Still, we can’t get too excited yet, there is still a few weeks until the outer parts of the formation collapses and even longer for the inner parts where we are. At least a few months from what I can tell before we can get out of here.” Even then, the old formation master knew that they weren’t yet out of danger and informed the group accordingly to ensure they didn’t get their hopes up too much.

”Haha, what are you saying? A few months is nothing! I have been trapped in here for over 69.000 years, a few months is nothing.”

”A few months? I thought it would take another thousand years before this thing collapsed enough for us to get out. After all, we are at the core of the formation. Not like those few who wandered around the outer edges of the spatial formation and only got caught up in the outer boundary.”

”True, the outer boundary gave everyone a sense of security in being able to leave and made us wander deeper inside, who knew the outer boundary was just designed to serve as a warning and the true depths of the spatial formation would be this horrifying?”

”At least you only made it to this part of the ancient spatial formation. If you entered the true core, it wouldn’t just be you wandering around in circles for a few thousand years, but your life would truly be in danger. The only reason I’m alive is because senior saved me in time before a spatial wave swallowed me…” As the group began happily discussing how they would be able to leave in another few months, a single mention of the true core of the ancient spatial formation caused everyone to fall silent.

They had originally wanted to go deeper into the ancient spatial formation to look for a way out but had been stopped by the senior at the Star Creation Realm when he encountered them. Informing everyone about the terror that was the true core of the ancient spatial formation, a place filled with countless deadly spatial traps that even left an experienced Star Creation Realm cultivator like him shivering in fear.

Of course, convincing everyone was easier said than done, so during the years, they had also visited the edge of the true core region where the spatial anomalies and traps were clearly visible from afar, their palpitating presence causing everyone to shiver in fear.

In the end, this alone wouldn’t have been enough to stop a group of Celestial Immortal Realm and Profound Immortal Realm cultivators from taking the chance to escape from a place they believed they would be trapped in forever. The appearance of the older lady skilled in the Dao of Formations and the Dao of Space had been the saving grace of the group. Pushing everyone towards another safer way out of the ancient spatial formation that had been trapping them.

Even if escape ended up taking thousands of years to successfully accomplish, a few thousands of years was nothing to this group of people who had already stepped beyond the Dao Seed Realm and had a lifespan of five million years before they would inevitably have to face the heavenly tribulation that would either kill them or allow them to breakthrough to the Venerable Realm.

Not to mention, with the older lady on hand, they had also been able to more easily navigate through the spatial formation and locate others who had been trapped like them, something that helped convince the group that the older lady would truly be able to successfully track down a foundation formation pillar… And in the end, it succeeded.

Now the only thing left was waiting, something this group was more than happy to do.

As for the dangers they would face as the spatial formation collapsed? None of these people were worried, as they were not just confident in their own strength being capable of resisting the spatial turmoil, but also the Star Creation Realm senior’s ability to help everyone out when the time came.

All of them had grown to trust each other during the years they had been trapped, though the one to benefit the most from the situation they found themselves in was undoubtedly the senior at the Star Creation Realm, as he had made sure to take full advantage of the situation to recruit a few of the Celestial Immortal Realm and Profound Immortal Realm cultivators that were wandering cultivators.

Something that under normal circumstances was incredibly difficult to accomplish, as wandering cultivators at that level rarely ever joined a major power and were more so free spirits who enjoyed wandering around the world exploring and searching for opportunities to grow their strength.

Any wandering cultivators who wanted to join a major power generally did so upon reaching the Dao Seed Realm or below, while those that didn’t and made it all the way to the Celestial Immortal Realm or even the Profound Immortal Realm if they had the opportunity remained independent or became a part of the Explorer Union.

In fact, to the Star Creation Realm senior, the tens of thousands of years he had been trapped within the ancient spatial formation was more than worth given the fact that he had been able to recruit several Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators and even two at the Profound Immortal Realm to join him once they successfully made it out of the ancient spatial formation.

Not to mention, he had more than enough time to test them and ensure they were sincere in their request to join the major power behind him. The few with insincere intentions having already disappeared over the years without anyone’s knowledge…
