Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Having already concluded that Lu Dongli was going to be his seventh disciple after the little illusion she had passed through, Xuan Hao decided to first go and check the remaining two potential disciples before she woke up. Knowing that it would take at least a few days for her soul to properly adjust to the vast quantity of new memories that had been created by the illusion she had gone through. Even with the assistance of his power to ensure that her soul could handle the influx of information, it wasn’t something that could be completed in a short time.

Reaching the small kingdom that was several times weaker than the kingdom Lu Dongli came from, with no one hidden ancestor at the Domain Lord Realm and only four old seniors at the Nascent Soul Realm backing it, Xuan Hao didn’t take too long to find the arrogant little prince that he had come in search of.

Originally when he had first found this young man or maybe accurately, young boy, he hadn’t wanted to take him on as a disciple due to his arrogant behavior, it was only after he realized that the child was far younger than he outwardly appeared that he decided otherwise. After all, from a glance, he looked like a hulking brute close to his thirties, but his true age wasn’t had barely reached double digits. Making the arrogant behavior excusable considering his identity and the simple fact that his arrogance didn’t harm anyone but was more so him using his identity to show off.

To test this little brute, Xuan Hao had originally planned on using his Dao of Illusions like he had with Lu Dongli, but on his arrival to the royal capital, he decided otherwise as there was another opportunity for him to test out this little one that didn’t require him to trap him in an illusion.

The test in question being how this young one was going to respond in a few minutes when his trusted companions betrayed him during an outing from the capital, as he easily saw through the few shady individuals that had convinced this little prince to leave for the outing and show them his strength.

The origin of these few shady individuals is not too difficult to guess, as they came from some of the surrounding kingdoms and other powers who felt threatened by the fast rise of this little prince and wanted to cut him before he could grow into a threat.

Of course, the family of this little one also understood this and had someone protecting the little prince from the shadows at the Core Formation Realm, but the other side clearly knew this and were prepared, as there were two Core Formation Realm cultivators already in hiding waiting to ambush the group.

Normally, this shouldn’t be enough to assassinate the little prince, as the Core Formation Realm cultivator always had the ability to grab the little prince and drag him away while calling for help from the Nascent Soul Realm seniors in the capital city, but this was also something the group had prepared for ahead of time. Meaning that this little prince might very well lose his life if he was unable to hold on long enough for his seniors back in the capital to respond.

Observing the little prince as he thought about this, Xuan Hao found a comfortable spot above the small entourage and pulled out a few snacks to enjoy the show below. Confident that he was more than capable of interfering in case there was a need with his current strength at the Land Creation Realm.

…

”Your highness, the demon beast was spotted in the cave a few hundred meters from here, we need to be cautious from now or it might spot us and run away.

”Hmph! You don’t have to tell me; I know that already!” Raising his head confidently as he said this to one of the followers he had recruited a few years ago when he had first awakened his divine physique and had his strength surge far beyond his peers, Jiang Li felt his confidence reaching a new height as the followers around him all began showering him in praise about how mighty he was and how the demon beast was no match for him.

He didn’t feel anything was wrong with any of this, as the demon beast in question was only at the Second Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, while he had just established his third foundational pillar inside his dantian. Bringing him to the Third Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm… And that was without mentioning how much stronger he was than his peers thanks to his special divine physique.

Even faced with a demon beast that had reached the Peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm, he wouldn’t feel any fear, let alone this little demon beast that had only reached the Second Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm.

The main reason why he had decided to go on this small trip outside the capital was because one of his most trusted followers had urged him and told him that it would be good chance for him to show off his strength in front of the new followers who hadn’t seen him truly show his might.

Unsurprisingly, he was more than happy to follow along with this suggestion and had only been convinced of how useful this method was to show off his might after the increasingly respectful looks he got from the newer followers after dealing with a few weaker Qi Condensation Realm demon beasts along the way. Making it easy to imagine just how amazed and awed these new followers would become after seeing him easily take down a powerful Foundation Establishment Realm demon beast.

The thought alone made him grin happily, a sight that didn’t escape his trusted follower, who in turn sneered out of sight before silently signaling to the group of new followers who had been praising the little prince nonstop so far. Earning a small nod of understanding, these followers slowly shifted a bit closer to the prince. Forming what looked like a small semi-circle from above. Keeping a certain distance and ensuring that everything looked natural, as everyone present understood that there was a Core Formation Realm cultivator watching from the shadows.

In case something felt off, that person would undoubtedly jump in and directly take away the little prince no matter how much the person in question complained.

Because of this, the so-called trusted follower of the little prince had already been outside the capital with the little prince several times, some situation not so different from the current one. Ensuring that the Core Formation Realm cultivator watching from the shadows wasn’t too on guard when faced with a situation that had already happened in the past.

Not to mention, the Foundation Establishment Realm demon beast that the little prince was supposed to hunt down was truly in a cave a short distance away, something that the Core Formation Realm cultivator in the shadows should have already confirmed. Making the entire situation more legitimate.

As for the two Core Formation Realm cultivators lying in ambush? They were skilled assassins and had hidden themselves deeply ahead of time. Only revealing themselves when it was time to strike. Even as one of the people in charge of this assassination, he had no idea where they were hidden, lest he accidentally give away any signs that might make the one hidden in the shadows feel something was off.

All he knew was that he had to make the little prince fight with the demon beast like originally stated, as for when the assignation was going to take place? He had no idea and had to be ready to move the second those two Core Formation Realm cultivators revealed themselves…

”Ha? So, this is the demon beast that has been causing trouble for the little village nearby? Indeed powerful, but no match for me!”

Whoosh-!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

And as he led the group of fake followers in cheering on the little prince, the battle with the Foundation Establishment Realm demon beast officially started. The little prince doing his best to show off as he took his sweet time clashing with the demon beast. Not wanting to finish it off too quickly, as he began toying around with it relying on his superior strength.

”Ohh! As expected of his highness!”

”How powerful! Indeed, worthy of his title as the strongest prince!”

”So amazing! Prince is so cool!”

Along with this, the group of followers had to keep up their disguise and cheer the little prince from the back, something that caused the little prince to smirk arrogantly as he continued dragging on the battle to hear the awe filled praise of these new followers of his. Feeling that his trusted little follower was indeed correct that this was the best way to nurture new followers and ensure their respect.

Whoosh-!

”Watch out your highness!”

But as he was lost in his own thoughts, he suddenly heard a loud voice calling out to him along with something stabbing towards him from below at a terrifying speed that gave him little to no chance to react to the sudden ambush attack…
