Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Boom-boom-boom!

As most of the people present in the noble district all began escaping towards the edge of the Soul Sacrifice Formation to get as far away as possible from the battle between the cardinal and the demonic cultivator, the only people left behind to watch the fight were a few of the more powerful Domain Lord Realm Experts that didn’t escape to the edge and instead kept their attention on the fight taking place.

”If there is a chance, we should all try our best to lend the cardinal a hand in dealing with this demonic cultivator!”

”””…”””

As this suggestion was made by a Domain Lord who had entered the Seventh Stage of the Domain Lord Realm, the rest of the Domain Lord’s all looked at each other for a short moment before nodding in agreement to what the Seventh Stage Domain Lord said.

Deep down, all of these people understood that their chances of survival would be close to zero if the demonic cultivator won and successfully managed to use the Soul Sacrifice Formation to break through to a higher realm.

After all, there was no way that the demonic cultivator would let all of them go after breaking through. Especially considering that he had a Soul Sacrifice Formation around…

For this reason, all of the Domain Lords present agreed that they should take action to help the cardinal if a chance presented itself.

…

Looks like everyone here is ready to join the fight the moment the opportunity presents itself…

Watching the group of Domain Lords who remained close to the place that the fight was taking place, Xuan Hao could not help turning his attention towards the cardinal and the demonic cultivator fighting at the centre of the noble district.

At this point in time, the centre of the noble district that had once been filled with all sorts of estates and other buildings had already been reduced to rubble. The only few buildings and estate that remained standing were the largest ones that were protected by powerful formations strong enough to withstand the battle between the two existences above the Domain Lord Realm.

Those should be the main estates of those large noble families like the Hollow Thunder Family and the Earth Dragon Clan…

Narrowing his eyes as he thought about this while looking towards the few remaining buildings at the centre of the noble district, Xuan Hao could not help feeling curious about just how strong these noble families were.

Not to mention the fact that no one from any of these large noble families had appeared to help the cardinal, Xuan Hao had a feeling that they were related to the appearances of the demonic cultivator inside the capital city.

After all, no matter how strong the demonic cultivator was, Xuan Hao didn’t think that he would have the ability to lay down the Soul Sacrifice Formation over more than a hundred years without getting discovered by the large noble families who essentially had estates located directly above the locations of the different parts of the formation. Especially considering how easy it had been for him to discover the demonic formation hidden beneath the large estate belonging to the Hollow Thunder Family!

Even if they might not have discovered the demonic formation at the start, they would have surely found out about it after more than a hundred years.

”Ha… Looks like I ended up getting caught in a rather troublesome situation by following after that young master from the Hollow Thunder Family…” Muttering this to himself as he realized that the different large noble families were involved in the construction of the Soul Sacrifice Formation, Xuan Hao could not help regretting that he had followed after the young master from the Hollow Thunder Family.

BANG!

As the sound of the cardinal getting smashed into the ground echoed out from afar, Xuan Hao and the rest of the Domain Lords present all got a clear look of the current state of the cardinal.

From head to toe, the more than three meter tall man was covered in blood with one of his arms missing. Even if it was not possible to discern the current state of a Soul Ascension Realm Expert from physical injuries alone, it was obvious to everyone present that the cardinal was already close to loosing against the demonic cultivator… And this was only after a little more than 20 seconds of fighting!

At this point, it was obvious how big the difference in strength between the cardinal and demonic cultivator was. Even if the Soul Sacrifice Formation was not likely to last more than a minute under the constant attack of the capitals guardian formation, the cardinal was not even likely to survive for another 30 seconds in his current state…

Whoosh-!

As everyone were feeling a wave of despair wash over them after seeing the state of the cardinal, the demonic cultivator directly swung his massive axe down towards the cardinal inside the crater that had formed around him after he had smashed into the ground-

Swish-!

BANG-!

However, before the axe of the demonic cultivator could reach the cardinal who had yet to recover from the impact, a small silver sword appeared out of thin air beside the massive axe descending towards the cardinal before striking it with a power that caused the already surprised demonic cultivator to momentarily lose control of the axe as it ended up not hitting the cardinal.

Whoosh-!

Understanding that he had been given another chance at life, the cardinal quickly jumped out of the crater before distancing himself from the demonic cultivator while recovering his injured body at a speed visible to the naked eye.

”WHO!?”

Different from the cardinal who was filled with happiness after having escaped a certain death situation, the demonic cultivator was filled with killing intent as a terrifying divine sense swept through the entire noble district trying to locate the person who had made a move just now.

However, no matter how hard he searched for the person responsible for the attack just now, he could not find the other party. The most he could find was the silver sword that had attacked him having been discarded on the ground after the sneak attack just now.

This… Just who is it that made a move? The only people present outside the cardinal that have some ability to interfere in the fight are those insects in the Domain Lord Realm… But… The strength behind that sword was clearly above the Domain Lord Realm! Don’t tell me… Was it one of those noble families that decided to save the cardinal!? Hmph, I knew trusting them was not a good idea!

Narrowing his large pair of blood red eyes, the demonic cultivator turned his attention towards the only remaining buildings left inside the centre of the noble district.

Obviously, the strength of a Domain Lord was far too weak to have stopped his attack in time just now, the only people with the ability to stop him were the people from the large noble families!

Whoosh~

Transforming back into a normal looking old man, the demonic cultivator understood that he would not be able to kill the cardinal in time before the Soul Sacrifice Formation was broken by the capital’s guardian formation.

Even if he was confident in killing the cardinal who had only broken through to the Soul Ascension Realm just recently before the Soul Sacrifice Formation could be broken, the same could not be said if he had to deal with another Soul Ascension Realm Expert who was hiding in the shadows.

Riiiiiiiip-!

Taking out a mystical scroll that gave of an aura that made the void around it shake, the demonic cultivator ripped the mystical scroll in half before the space around him ripped apart and formed a stable spatial tunnel that easily by passed the capitals guardian formation.

”Hmph! Good! Even if I only have a few hundred years left, I will be sure to remember what happened today!”

Not wasting any more time after that, the demonic cultivator entered the spatial tunnel before disappearing from the noble district filled with an unbearable killing intent that made some of the weaker Domain Lords close to the battle collapse on the ground shaking in fear.

BOOOOOOOOOOOM-!

Having lost the support of the demonic cultivator, the Soul Sacrifice Formation that now only operated with the help of the small energy batteries that had been used to activate it and bait over the cardinal broke apart almost instantaneously under the attack of the capital’s guardian formation.

”Everyone, out of the way!”

”Haha! Freedom! I actually survived!”

”I will never return to the noble district again! It’s far more dangerous compared to the rest of the capital!”

As the Soul Sacrifice Formation covering the noble district broke apart. The people who had escaped to the edge of the formation did not waste a single second as all of them tried their best to get as far away as possible from the noble district.
