Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Watching the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family slowly dragging his weak body towards a large pair of doors at the end of the underground passage that had been opened by the shadowy figure just a few seconds earlier, Xuan Hao could not help wishing that the shadowy figure would return and help carry the young master. After all, with the young master’s current speed, it would at least take him half an hour to make it to the end of the unground passage... And that is not considering whether or not his body would be able to survive for that long...

I really don’t want to waste that much time watching this young master...

As the thought of watching the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family for the next half hour as he slowly made his way towards the large pair of open doors, Xuan Hao inevitably turned to look towards the large pair of open doors that the young master was making his way towards.

The quest given by the system is only about finding out about what the young master is up to. Not following him around... If I’m not wrong, the so-called transformation he wants to go through should be the thing that the quest wants me to find out about!

Swish~

Deciding to ignore the young master after realizing he had no need to follow him around any longer, Xuan Hao silently moved around the young master before reaching the large pair of open doors that the shadowy figure had disappeared inside of just a few seconds earlier.

”This... A formation? No... A demonic formation!?”

Standing in front of the large pair of doors, Xuan Hao could not help showing a surprised expression on his face after seeing a demonic formation on the other side of the large pair of doors.

Even if he already knew that some people inside the Sky Empire like General Guan, dared cooperate with a demonic sect, he didn’t expect for the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family to do this.

Not only was he cooperating with a demonic sect, but he had even gone as far as to hide a demonic formation inside the capital city of the Sky Empire!

Cooperating with a demonic sect in secret outside the capital was one thing, building a demonic formation inside the capital city of the Sky Empire was another.

No matter how high a mighty an old noble family like the Hollow Thunder Family was, Xuan Hao did not doubt that the imperial family would take action against them the moment they found out what the seventh young master was doing!

Is the transformation that the young master talked about earlier perhaps using this formation to turn himself into a demonic cultivator...?

Feeling like he was getting closer to understanding what the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family was planning, Xuan Hao began to carefully inspecting the formation that covered ever part of the underground room. Ignoring the shadowy figure motionlessly standing in a corner of the room looking towards the entrance.

At the very least, the shadowy figure had no way to find him. Even if its strength had reached somewhere around the Fourth Stage of the Domain Lord Realm according to Xuan Hao’s quick inspection, it was still just an artificial puppet that had no divine sense or domain to support it.

Whoosh~!

Knowing that there weren’t anyone inside the large estate that would be able to sense his divine sense after seeing that only the shadowy figure was inside the room on the other side of the large pair of doors, Xuan Hao decided to partially release his divine sense to cover the entire estate.

”Hm?”

Covering the entire estate with his divine sense, Xuan Hao could not help frowning as he looked towards the demonic formation that had been carved into the floor, walls and ceiling of the underground room in front of him.

At first he had just thought that the demonic formation would be used to help the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family to transition from a normal cultivator to a demonic cultivator... But after his divine sense engulfed the entire estate, he discovered that there was another three similar underground rooms with similar demonic formations inside of them.

Not only did the other three underground rooms also have an artificial puppet similar to the shadowy figure guarding it, but there were also three other people in a similar state as the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family slowly making their way towards the demonic formation at the end of the secret underground passage that they were inside of!

”I see... The demonic formations are all connected together forming a single large demonic formation! If I’m not wrong, after the four demonic formations are activated, they will drain the cultivation base of the people activating it to serve as energy for activating the larger demonic formation!” Muttering this to himself as he observed the situation through his divine sense, Xuan Hao could not help looking back towards the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family.

From what he could understand with his limited understanding of formations, the ’transformation’ that the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family talked about, should be him becoming a human shaped energy source for the larger demonic formation.

With this in mind, the constant break through in strength that the young master was experiencing together with three other unfortunate souls, should be to have them store as much energy as possible before they in the end would get turned into human shaped energy batteries to fuel the activation of the larger demonic formation.

Thinking about it like this, the artificial puppets standing guard at each of the four smaller demonic formations were likely not only there to defend the demonic formations, but were also there to make sure the human shaped energy batteries didn’t escape after finding out what was happening to them!

Even if the artificial puppets would not fare well in combat against a normal Domain Lord who could use a domain to fight, they would be more than strong enough to keep any of the human shaped batteries from leaving...

[Side Quest: A Wild Young Master Appears! (Complete)]

[Description: The young master of the Hollow Thunder Family that is enemies with you friend Yi Min suddenly appeared in front of you and seems to be in a hurry... How suspicious... Investigate what caused the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family to act this way.]

[Reward: Divine Will Scripture]

”Ah!?”

Just as the thought about the fate of the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family and the rest of the unfortunate souls that were in the process of transforming into an optional state for helping activate the larger demonic formation appeared in his head, the quest from the system appeared in front of him. Showing that he had been correct when it came to the sad fate of the young master of the Hollow Thunder Family and the three other unfortunate souls.

Even if he could not understand what the larger demonic formation would do after it activated with his current understanding of formations, this did not matter when it came to the quest. After all the goal for his quest was not to find out about the large demonic formation hidden beneath one of the Hollow Thunder Family’s estates. Instead, it was to find out about what the seventh young master of the Hollow Thunder Family was up to...

”Hehe, as long as I complete the transformation, I will no longer be left behind by my older brothers and I will finally have chance to become the next head of the family!”

”...”

Listening to the ramblings of the young master as he got closer and closer to the demonic formation, Xuan Hao could not help shaking his head. Already imagining the despair that young master would go through after finding out that he had been turned into a human shaped energy battery.

Even if he wanted to help him, there was nothing he could do with his current strength.

Increasing the capacity of someone’s dantian that had the ability to carry the energy of an early-stage Foundation Establishment Realm Expert to suddenly having to carry the energy comparable to someone in the Peak of the Nascent Soul Realm was not without consequences!

Be it the young master’s dantian, body or soul. All three of them were on the verge of collapse and could not be saved without the help of some godly expert!

Other than this, the demonic formation that the young master was walking towards would also be able to artificially keep him alive as it drained the energy out of his body in an extremely painful manner over the period of a few minutes...

No matter what, they young master was not going to survive, something that was certain to end up alerting the Hollow Thunder Family!
