Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

”Hah… I actually managed to get away without getting seriously injured!”

Having come to a stop a short distance away from the ancient city ruins after discovering that the rabbit demon beast decided not to continue chasing after him outside the ancient city ruins, Chu Yang examined his surroundings before finding a place to recover the qi he had used to fight with the rabbit demon beast earlier.

Even though he had managed to escape in the end, the rabbit demon beast was far stronger than he had expected, almost completely exhausting him after only 10 seconds!

If not for the fact that it didn’t chase him after he left the ancient city ruins, Chu Yang was almost certain that he would lose to the rabbit demon beast… Of course, this was also considering he only tried escaping and didn’t waste any of his energy trying to fight back against the rabbit demon beast.

After all, fighting back against the rabbit demon beast would only result in him being stuck in the same place. Giving the rest of the Core Formation Realm demon beasts more than enough time to catch up and gang up on him together!

To be honest, Chu Yang had been quite surprised that the Core Formation realm demon beasts had not managed to catch up with him during the 10 seconds that the rabbit demon beast had managed to hold him in one location.

However, Chu Yang just blamed this on the fact that there should still be some discontent among the demon beasts after having fought just a few minutes earlier. This infighting should have been what had caused the delay for the other Core Formation Realm demon beasts!

At least, that was what Chu Yang thought given the conclusions he had drawn after seeing the two large groups of injured demon beasts at either side of the massive crater.

Never would he have expected that the reason why the Core Formation Realm demon beasts had been slower to show up was because they felt fearful towards the strength, he had displayed by surviving the rabbit demon beast’s sneak attack.

Even if they had only hesitated to move for a few seconds, this was more than enough time for Chu Yang to escape from the rabbit demon beast’s grasp and jump over the outer walls of the ancient city ruins. Ensuring his own safety and at the same time ensuring a beating by the rabbit demon beast for them…

Fwoosh~

”This should be enough.”

Standing back up after spending a few minutes recovering the qi he had spent during his escape from the ancient city ruins, Chu Yang began making his way back towards the Small River Town. Leaving behind the ancient city ruins.

The reason why he decided to make his way back to the Small River Town instead of heading directly back towards the Flying Sword Sect, was because Chu Yang did not want to risk once again losing his way while travelling on his own.

For this reason, he wanted to make use of the Explorer Union of the Small River Town and try get an escort mission towards the Flying Sword Sect.

Even if the Explorer Union was pretty bad in the Small River Town, Chu Yang thought that he should at the very least be able to get an escort mission out of the small town to another town closer to the Flying Sword Sect… Hopefully that town would have a more functioning Explorer Union as well.

Investigating the spiritual fruit trees at the Small River Town was no longer something Chu Yang wanted to waste time on, as at this point in time, he just wanted to return back to the Flying Sword Sect and get his master to check out the situation.

Although he did not think the devil immortal jade missed any of the exotic energy when it forcefully refined it, he could never be completely certain about this. Getting his master to check it for him was the best option for him.

Not to mention, he was already rather happy with the things he had gained from his adventure outside the sect, a new spear, books on what he expected to be ancient spear techniques and more importantly… His cultivation realm had improved all the way to the Fourth Stage of the Core Formation Realm!

Even if Qing Yi had managed to break through to the Core Formation Realm when he returned, he would still be able to easily win against her with his current strength!

No matter what, there was no way Chu Yang would let himself get overtaken by her!

Whoosh~

Leaving the forest that the ancient city ruins were located inside, Chu Yang moved back to the small river and followed it back towards the Small River Town.

At least, with a river to follow, he would not have to worry about getting lost.

…

”Well then, I will get going… Are you sure you are fine with having Song Jia around in your current state…?” Getting ready to leave after having spent a few hours talking with Elder Song about not only the spirit stone mine but also the future direction of the sect, Xuan Hao could not help asking this as he glanced towards Song Jia gently sleeping on a couch next to them.

”It’s fine, I already recovered enough to move around normally! Although… Fighting is definitely not possible for another few days, I can still look after the little one by myself!” Gently leaning over to caress the head of the sleeping Song Jia, Elder Song smiled gently at her while saying this.

Even after having been injured by failing to make the demonic medicinal potion just a few hours earlier, Elder Song was in no way showing any weakness in front of Xuan Hao.

If not for the fact that he could clearly sense that he was injured, Chu Yang would doubt that there was anything wrong with the current Elder Song.

”I understand… But if you need anyone to look after her while you are recovering, you can always contact me.”

”Haha, I will be sure to remember that in the future!” Laughing happily when he heard what Xuan Hao said, Elder Song soon calmed down before watching as Xuan Hao took his leave.

Soon enough, Elder Song was left alone together with the sleeping Song Jia beside him.

Fwoosh~

Not wasting any time after Xuan Hao left, Elder Song directly began absorbing the qi from the world around him, as he used it to repair the internal damage done to his body by the explosion of the cauldron earlier.

As for the injuries to his soul from extracting his own lifespan over the past dozen years… That would not be so easily repaired and would require not only a long time, but also precious potions, spiritual herb or natural treasures that could help recovering the injuries to his soul.

At least the Purification Pill given to him by Xuan Hao had allowed him to not only breakthrough to the Nascent Soul Realm, but also allowed him to recover some of the worst injuries to his soul.

…

”Hm… I didn’t expect to get held up for so long with Song Jia’s matter all of a sudden, the lecture I planned to hold for never ended up taking place…” Muttering this to himself as he slowly made his way back towards his pavilion under the light from the moon above, Xuan Hao could not help shaking his head.

Making sure Elder Song’s granddaughter Song Jia was safe, was far more important than completing the sect quest from the system.

Not to mention, during this time, he also realized that it might not be a good idea to just suddenly hold a lecture without first informing the new disciples that he was actually going to hold a lecture.

If he really did that, he might end up with no more than a handful new disciples at his lecture…

”Now that I think about it, how does the Feng Chen and the others inform the rest of the sect about something important? They always seem to have spread any news they want spread throughout the sect in less than two days’ time…”

Feeling curious about this as he made, he walked along the mostly empty path leading down from the area where Elder Song was living and into the more busy part of the sect where most of the restaurants and other entertainment facilities were located, Xuan Hao could not help glancing towards a few disciples happily making their way into a large building that looked like a restaurant he had seen before while outside the sect.

The clear difference between this one and the one outside the sect, was that the one in the sect was clearly far larger compared to the one he had seen outside. Another difference would be the fact that any restaurant inside the sect would be run by either the servant quarters or the sect’s elders. In rare cases, some of the senior disciples also ran their own shops and places, though it was rather rare, as most of them had no time to do something like that.

”Hm… Asking the disciples should be a good idea. Although, I will have to change my appearance, so I won’t get recognized the moment I enter the place.”

Whoosh~

Coming to a decision and feeling like it would a more entertaining way to find out about how to quickly inform the rest of the disciples about his upcoming lecture, Xuan Hao changed his clothes and appearance before following the group of happy disciples inside the large restaurant.
