The Protagonist Stole My Spiritual Roots? The Heroine, Give Me a Good Birth!

140: Forget to breatheChen Xuan even felt that Shen Xirou’s voice was somewhat familiar, but he just couldn’t recall where he had heard it before.

”Then, Empress Dowager, have you thought it through?” Chen Xuan stopped thinking and walked directly in front of She Jingxi.

She Jingxi’s face instantly flushed. She knew what Chen Xuan meant. Putting aside whether she agreed or not, Shen Xirou was right there. Even if she agreed, she absolutely couldn’t agree in such a situation!

”Cough, cough, I didn’t ask you to come here to treat me today, but her!” She Jingxi pointed to Shen Xirou beside her.

”Young Miss Shen?” Chen Xuan was puzzled.

”No, don’t call me that anymore. Just call me Madam!” Shen Xirou’s face also slightly reddened when she heard this young man still calling her Young Miss.

”Alright, does Madam Shen have any illness?”

”She suffered some injuries years ago, and after recovering, she still had internal injuries. Her cultivation regressed instead of advancing. Many doctors saw her, but they were all helpless. I saw that you have some medical skills, so I decided to let you take a look!”

”I see! Then, Madam Shen, please give me your hand so I can take your pulse!” Chen Xuan said.

”Wh-what? I, I have to give you my hand?” Shen Xirou was startled when she heard Chen Xuan’s words.

”Of course. Without taking your pulse, how can I diagnose your ailment?” Chen Xuan smiled.

”This, this, isn’t this inappropriate?” A look of difficulty appeared on Shen Xirou’s face. Given her status, how could she and this young man in front of her...

It wasn’t that she looked down on Chen Xuan, but it was truly too inappropriate!

”There’s nothing inappropriate about it. It’s just taking a pulse, Madam Shen, don’t overthink it!” Chen Xuan said seriously.

Seeing this, She Jingxi also smiled and then comforted her, ”Xirou, just let him check your hand. He’s a doctor; he won’t have any ulterior motives.”

Hearing She Jingxi’s words, Shen Xirou relaxed a little, but she still hesitated.

”Don’t worry, I’m just taking your pulse, Madam. I will never do anything disrespectful to you!” Chen Xuan saw Shen Xirou’s concerns and emphasized again.

Shen Xirou looked at Chen Xuan’s sincere smile and couldn’t help but blush. She hesitated for a moment, but still extended her slender hand.

Chen Xuan also reached out and gently held Shen Xirou’s wrist. Then he gently placed his fingers on Shen Xirou’s pulse, carefully feeling her pulse.

However, at this moment, Shen Xirou’s heart rate suddenly accelerated, and her face became increasingly red, as if she was shy.

Although Chen Xuan felt a bit strange, he still concentrated on listening to Shen Xirou’s pulse, trying to find the problem with her body.

But unfortunately, Shen Xirou’s constantly accelerating heartbeat made it difficult for Chen Xuan to continue.

”Cough, cough, Madam Shen, please don’t be too nervous. If your heart beats too fast, it’s hard for me to diagnose your problem!”

”Ah?!” When Shen Xirou heard Chen Xuan say this, she was so ashamed that she wanted to find a hole to crawl into.

It wasn’t that she had to be like this, but she truly hadn’t seen outsiders for too long. Now, facing a handsome young man of the opposite sex, her social anxiety had reached an unimaginable level!

”Uh, Madam Shen, you really don’t need to be nervous. You can breathe while I’m taking your pulse!” Chen Xuan immediately released Shen Xirou’s wrist. She was so nervous that she had forgotten to breathe. He estimated that if he held on for a little longer, this woman would faint.

”I... can I not be treated?” Shen Xirou turned her head and looked at She Jingxi piteously.

”No, you’re already here, and Imperial Physician Chen has already taken your pulse. How can you give up at the very end? Take a break and then try again!” She Jingxi refused her on the spot.

Chen Xuan watched the interaction between the two and only felt that Madam Shen was too adorable. If he were with her... he probably wouldn’t know what it would be like. No, the more he thought about it, the more excited he became. He had to make time to try!

And Shen Xirou, hearing She Jingxi’s words, looked at Chen Xuan with some difficulty.

”Madam Shen, please don’t be nervous. I understand your situation. Why don’t you take a few deep breaths first to calm yourself down?” Chen Xuan gently reminded her.

Upon hearing this, Shen Xirou took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and began to try deep breathing.

Gradually, her heart rate slowed down, and her breathing became much steadier.

Then she bit her lip and extended her hand towards Chen Xuan, forcing herself to suppress her inner nervousness.

Chen Xuan gently held Shen Xirou’s wrist and began to take her pulse.

Soon, Shen Xirou’s cheeks again flushed slightly, whether from nervousness or shyness, but fortunately, it wasn’t as exaggerated as before.

Seeing this scene, She Jingxi also felt a little emotional. She knew that Shen Xirou had always been a very strong woman, but now she was even blushing, which was truly a rare sight.

Chen Xuan carefully felt the Qi within Shen Xirou’s body and found that her Meridians were somewhat disordered, and her Qi was also a bit weak.

Chen Xuan released her hand and looked at Shen Xirou.

”Madam Shen, you indeed have internal injuries that have not yet healed. I can perform acupuncture for you, and then assist with medication, and you will recover quickly.”

”Really? That’s wonderful!” She Jingxi exclaimed with joy upon hearing this.

”However, Madam Shen still has a significant problem!”

”What? What problem!” Shen Xirou was extremely nervous.

”Melancholy in the heart, Qi stagnation in the chest! You have very severe Qi stagnation!” Chen Xuan said.

”What does that mean?” She Jingxi was a little confused.

”It means that Madam Shen has been in a very... depressed, sad mood for a long time. Over time, this will form, which is very bad for both body and mind!”

”Then, what should be done?”

”To completely resolve this problem, Madam Shen may need to adjust her own mindset. However, if Madam Shen doesn’t mind, I can prescribe some formulas to soothe the liver and regulate Qi, hoping it will be of some help to you.”

”Additionally, Madam Shen, the state of your mood has a great impact on your body. If you can maintain a happy mood, it will also be of great help in treating your internal injuries.”

”Understood, thank you, Imperial Physician Chen!” Shen Xirou looked deeply at Chen Xuan.

She hadn’t expected that the state of her mood could even be discerned by the person in front of her. This medical skill was truly remarkable!

”Alright, then quickly deal with the internal injury problem!” She Jingxi urged.

”To treat Madam Shen’s internal injury, I need to perform acupuncture on her. During the treatment, Madam Shen may feel some pain, and I hope you can endure it.”

”It’s fine. As long as this illness can be cured, I can endure any hardship or pain!” Shen Xirou said firmly.

”Good, then let’s start now!”
