The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne

Evalyn’s anger flared instantly when she heard those words. She respected the Hero of Darkness as one of humanity’s heroes.

However, if he acted this selfishly, she couldn’t accept it.

Evalyn turned to the generals, whose faces were somber, and said firmly, ”I’m giving you two choices—follow my orders, or follow the Hero of Darkness’s orders. Decide quickly!”

Lucas was startled by her words. He was the Dark Hero—one of the two heroes of humanity.

How dare an ordinary human speak to him like that?

However, Lucas did not rush to confront her. He wanted to see for himself what choice the generals would make.

Upon hearing her question, the generals exchanged glances. By protocol, they were supposed to follow Lucas’s orders.

After all, he was a hero. His authority was absolute.

However, his earlier order was practically the same as needlessly sacrificing the soldiers to the demon army.

They didn’t want to do that.

Several minutes passed, yet no one answered. The silence only made Lucas angrier.

They should have chosen him, not stood there in silence like this.

”All of you…” he was about to scold them when one of the generals raised his hand and interrupted him.

”Sorry, Dark Hero. Your order doesn’t make sense. I can’t follow it.”

When the general spoke up, the others quickly agreed.

Lucas’s face turned red, and his breathing grew heavy.

”Great… really great!” he said angrily, pointing at Evalyn beside him. ”You’re all complete fools for listening to this woman! Fine! I won’t be part of this battle!”

After saying that, he turned and walked away, leaving the generals in confusion and fear.

If Lucas didn’t join, the situation would become dangerous. Inside Infernos City, there was a powerful demon general named Lilithra.

She was a three-meter-tall spider-shaped demon. Her strength was beyond question.

None of them could defeat her except Lucas.

But Evalyn quickly calmed them down.

”No need to worry. Let me take the lead.”

She hadn’t expected Lucas to act so childishly. Now she understood why her ancestor, Rei, had been able to win Princess Roseline’s heart.

In terms of maturity, demeanor, and mindset alone, Lucas was far behind him.

The generals had no choice but to agree.

”G-General Lilithra! The human forces have surrounded the City of Infernos! What should we do!?” a demon soldier reported, his voice trembling.

A giant spider emerged from the darkness. She was three meters tall.

Her eight legs were sharp, and her large black-and-white abdomen loomed beneath her.

However, unlike an ordinary spider, her upper body was that of a beautiful woman with eight eyes.

Her waist was slender, and her breasts were full enough to tempt any man who saw her.

But because of her terrifying presence, no one dared to think anything improper about her.

Lilithra walked toward the soldier and stopped in front of him. She lowered herself to his level, then lifted his chin with a long, sharp index fingernail.

”Why are you so afraid? Aren’t they just a bunch of weak humans? Don’t worry. Since they were bold enough to attack the City of Infernos, I don’t mind destroying them,” she whispered, her warm breath brushing against the soldier’s ear.

The soldier’s body went rigid. Instead of feeling anything else, he was filled only with fear.

Lilithra pulled away and continued casually, ”Release the orcs we’ve been holding captive. Let them be the ones to greet those savage humans. Afterward, summon the troops and prepare for battle. We’ll wipe them out.”

”A-As you command, Demon General Lilithra!” the soldier replied respectfully.

He quickly turned and ran off to carry out her orders.

Lilithra watched his retreating figure with a playful gaze.

”I wonder… which hero will come to face me? The Hero of Light or the Hero of Darkness? Or perhaps…”

A faint smile bloomed on her face. ”Neither of them? That might be even more interesting.”

She licked her lips, her gaze carrying a charm capable of captivating any man who met it.

”Warrior Evalyn, we’ve moved four trebuchets to the center. What’s next?” a general named Lucien asked.

Evalyn stared at the four trebuchets in silence. She was thinking about how to enhance the explosive power of the stones that would be launched.

Suddenly, she seemed to remember something and asked, ”Is there a mage in your forces?”

Lucien and the other generals were startled, then exchanged glances.

”There is, Warrior Evalyn. But their level is only at the Sage stage,” one of the generals replied.

”Good, that’s enough. Please have them set fire to the stones we’re going to launch at the fortress. Can you do that?” Evalyn asked earnestly.

The generals were surprised but quickly understood her intention.

”We can! Just give us a moment!” the general replied before turning away to relay the order.

Not long after, four large stones prepared for launch were engulfed in bright red flames.

”Fortify them with strengthening magic!” Evalyn commanded.

The mage nodded and cast strengthening magic over the four burning stones.

Evalyn stepped back, raised her hand, and ordered, ”Fire!”

The soldiers cut the ropes holding the trebuchets.

Whoosh!

The four flaming stones shot toward the towering fortress of Infernos City and struck it.

BOOM!

The explosive force was devastating.

”Again!” Evalyn commanded.

BOOM!

BOOM!

Attack after attack was launched at the fortress. Eventually, on the tenth strike, the colossal fortress collapsed completely.

”Wow!” the soldiers exclaimed in amazement.

That massive fortress had been destroyed so easily. The soldiers turned to look at Evalyn in awe.

However, Evalyn remained completely unfazed by their stares.

To her, it was something anyone could have done.

She didn’t understand why no one had thought of it before.

But that didn’t matter. Now that the wall had been destroyed, it was time to attack.

Evalyn mounted her horse and raised her sword.

”Charge!”

She kicked her horse’s side, and it immediately surged forward.

”Attack!” The generals and soldiers followed at once.

The second-largest assault in human history had officially begun.

…

”It’s dark… I can’t see anyone. Please… I’m scared…”

In a dark and silent place, a little girl pleaded in a hoarse, weak voice.

She lay on the ground in a pitiful state, her body covered in fresh whip marks that still hadn’t healed.

Her frame was small and frail, clearly from years of poor nourishment.

But what was truly heartbreaking wasn’t just her appearance—it was her eyes. A faded white blindfold covered them, and faint traces of blood had soaked through.

She was completely blind, trapped in endless darkness.

”I’m scared… someone… please… help me…” she whispered weakly.

Then, faint footsteps echoed in the distance.

They stopped right in front of her.

A gentle voice then reached her ears.

”Do you want to live?”
