”Do you remember when we first met?” My wife kept looking at the fountain with a small smile on her soft lips.

”How could I forget” I answered back with a sigh of nostalgia as I remembered the banquet we had both attended.

”You were wearing that fluffy dress” I laughed but stiffen when I saw Dawn’s green eyes narrowing in my direction.

”I thought I told you to refrain speaking of that monstrosity” She smiled sweetly but I was definitely sure that if I continued then she would definitely hit me.

”.....” I pretended to admire the fountain while keeping silent which seemed to please my wife very much.

”I still haven’t forgiven my mother for that dress” Dawn muttered while rolling her eyes with a helplessness in her voice.

”Annabel said that you picked it~” I started to speak but immediately shut my mouth when Dawn turned toward me with a smile.

”.....” She didn’t even say anything while continuing to stare at me for a few seconds as if daring me to keep on going.

”She picked it” Dawn spoke in a very clear voice making me nod my head in agreement even though I knew she was lying.

”And stop calling my mother by her name” I couldn’t help but flinch though at her next words that made me look away.

”I don’t care if she told you to do it” Dawn reached over and poked my shoulder with eyes full of annoyance.

”The woman has zero boundaries” She rolled her eyes once again and I couldn’t help but nod at her words.

’She’s not wrong....’ I muttered in my head while thinking of Dawn’s mother who was a very outgoing woman.

”I was trying to have a sweet moment and now it’s ruined” Dawn proceeded to scrunch her nose and let out a deep sigh of irritation that made me feel kind of bad.

”It was the King’s birthday banquet” I said as I closed my eyes for a few seconds remembering the distance past.

The family I had transmigrated into was located inside the Cornell kingdom. My mother was only a countess in the past but held a significant amount of influence due to her martial prowess. The King was very wary of her because of that and always tried to keep my mother in check on way or another. He was the one who sent an assassin to kill me when I was an infant, The one who caused a civil war to break out due to his greed and the one who forced me to drown in blood to get stronger.

Such things weren’t important anymore since I had killed that old man long ago.

It was during a banquet for the King’s birthday that I saw Dawn for the first time.

She was a gorgeous young woman who drew the gazes of everyone in the hall.

Not only due to her beauty but also because Dawn’s father was one of the three Duke’s of the kingdom.

”We crossed gazes across the banquet hall” I smiled as I looked toward Dawn whose lips had formed a warm smile.

”I was hoping you would ask me to dance” She pouted slightly while leaning over and hitting her shoulder softly against mine.

”I would have if Kaiden hadn’t first” I vividly remember my best friend basically running toward Dawn with heart filled eyes.

”Don’t remind me of that” Dawn rolled her eyes and kept her shoulder pressed against mine while leaning on me.

”He wouldn’t stop talking about you for like a week” I replied which made my wife scoff and scrunch her cute button nose.

”You know he’s still in love with you” I don’t know why I brought that up but the words left my lips before I realized.

”.....” Dawn turned toward me and her green eyes stared into mine for a few seconds as if trying to see something.

”I’m well aware” Eventually she shook her head while letting out a deep sigh that was filled with annoyance.

”Whenever I run into him he won’t stop talking for what feels like hours” Dawn raised one of her hands and brushed the golden locks out of her face while speaking.

”Lusting after your best friends wife is deplorable but with a womanizer like Kaiden it’s not particularly surprising” She shrugged her shoulders as if it was no big deal but I could tell she was definitely annoyed by it.

’If I had to pick a man for Dawn to sleep with then it would definitely be Kaiden....’ I licked my dry lips while such a disgusting forced its way into my thoughts.

’My best friend and my wife....’ I felt my heart skip a beat as I imagined it until I Dawn suddenly snapped her fingers in front of my face.

”What are you thinking about?” She asked while raising one of her eyebrows with a smile on her soft lips.
