Star Martial Era: The Way of Star Light Cultivation

Chapter 1880: Chapter 791: The Twenty-Year Pact and an Attempt

He understood this and admired it greatly.

Without the guidance of the ancestors, Tianzhang the Su Family would not have thrived to this day, nor could it rule the Dongxuan Star Realm like the Emperor.

”Since you trust your grandfather’s vision, then promise him one thing,” said True Monarch Tianzhang.

”Grandfather just needs to ask, not even one thing, ten things, a hundred things—your grandson will surely promise to do it, even at the cost of his life,” said Su Xuan earnestly.

”That’s good.

This matter is quite simple.

Grandfather hopes you can suppress your resentment for twenty years!

Even if you hold grievances against grandfather’s decision now, even if your grandfather’s decision implicates Xu Jin, grandfather wants that resentment sealed for twenty years, as if it’s been sealed away.

When you see Xu Jin, you must pay respect to him joyfully and willingly as a junior!

If Xu Jin makes any request that you can fulfill, you must do it. If you can’t fulfill it, you must exhaust all means until you cannot anymore.

Moreover, even if Xu Jin does not ask—if there’s anything beneficial to him—you must take initiative to do it.

Can you do it?” True Monarch Tianzhang instructed solemnly.

Su Xuan listened to his grandfather’s instructions with a startled expression, but seeing True Monarch Tianzhang’s seriousness, it seemed he was not joking.

”Grandfather, as I said, as long as it’s a request from you, your grandson will fulfill it, even at the cost of his life.

Your three requirements don’t even need me to risk my life; what can’t I accomplish?

Grandfather, I can do it!”

Su Xuan first gave a definitive answer but then asked, ”But grandfather, I want to know why?”

”Why?”

Hearing this, True Monarch Tianzhang slowly shook his head, ”I know why, but if I tell you now, you won’t understand!

In twenty years, looking back, then you’ll know why!

Now, I want you to promise, with your status as the direct eldest grandson of the Su family, that you must achieve this.”

As these words were spoken, Su Xuan’s expression changed. After adjusting his breathing several times, he promised True Monarch Tianzhang as the eldest grandson in the direct lineage.

Seeing this, True Monarch Tianzhang nodded in satisfaction, ”As long as you do it, in twenty years, you’ll take my place in leading the Su family.

And after my century passes, my True Monarch Blood Crystal will be collected by you to refine and given priority for use!”

Su Xuan’s expression changed, anxious, ”Grandfather, this...”

”This will be my future command!”

Upon hearing this, Su Xuan’s expression turned stern, ”Grandfather rest assured, your grandson will surely accomplish this. From today, your grandson will have no more resistance to Xu Jin’s position as an uncle. Even in public, I will respectfully address him as uncle and strictly carry out your three requirements.”

”Very well.”

True Monarch Tianzhang lightly nodded, ”Xuan’er, you must remember, a temporary win doesn’t mean anything. To laugh last, to survive last, that’s the true victory!”

”Your grandson understands.”

”Go now...”

A similar scene played out between True Monarch Bixuan and Lu Zhen.

Of course, the content of their dialogue was completely opposite.

”Ancestor, when sparring with Su Xuan, I used less than eighty percent of my power and already won over him, but I felt Su Xuan used his full strength.

By the time of the annual Dao Heir assessment, I will surely be able to wash away past shame, defeat Su Xuan, and at the very least, secure a third place,” Lu Zhen said confidently.

Upon hearing this, True Monarch Bixuan nodded in satisfaction, ”That’s good! Securing the third spot here, after enlightening oneself with the True Monarch Blood Crystal and the Emperor’s Dao Secret Realm, combined with Mr. Ding’s intensive training for you, your chance of entering the Imperial Palace as a Saint Heir should exceed eighty percent.

Then, there’s a possibility of becoming a True Monarch.”

”Rest assured, ancestor, I will cultivate diligently day and night.”

”Take this.” As he spoke, True Monarch Bixuan presented a starlight-encircled item.

”Ancestor, this is?”

”This is an Innate Treasure Material I purchased at a high price recently; you incorporate it into your Lifebound Suppressing Artifact, which should further enhance its power.

At that time, whether it’s the annual assessment or the unpredictable Imperial Palace Saint Heir election, it will greatly increase your chances of success!” True Monarch Bixuan said.

”Thank you for the treasure, ancestor.” Lu Zhen immediately knelt in gratitude.

A few breaths later, watching Lu Zhen leave, True Monarch Bixuan sighed helplessly, comparing him with Lu Huang, Lu Zhen still falls slightly short.

But he also did not have more options.

Within the Ritual Officer’s chambers of Yutang Royal City, Princess Zhu Linxiao personally carried water over in the evening to attend to Xu Jin, constantly warming the water with Star Power and massaging gently with her delicate hands.

Xu Jin looked at this scene, enjoying it.

Back on Blue Star, among friends, they would often joke about spending thousands or tens of thousands on a wife, who wouldn’t wash your feet, whereas spending a few dozen or a hundred bucks just meant someone else’s wife would do it.

This is fundamentally why many men enjoy foot massages.

Unexpectedly, here, having his own wife wash his feet became a reality.

A fortunate event indeed.

As she attended to Xu Jin’s feet, Zhu Linxiao simultaneously recounted interesting events happening within the Dongxuan Star Realm.

It was akin to a daily news broadcast.

Also serving as Xu Jin’s key channel to understand daily changes in the Dongxuan Star Realm.

Soon, Zhu Linxiao spoke of Lu Zhen’s banquet of heroes, and even mentioned the spar between him and Su Xuan.

”Oh, Su Xuan was defeated by Lu Zhen by a narrow margin?”

”Yes, husband, that’s what’s being said, but the Lu family tends to remain a schemer! I reckon that in the upcoming Dao Heir assessment, there’s an 80-90% chance that Su Xuan will lose, falling out of the top three,” Zhu Linxiao casually analyzed.

”Su Xuan will fall out of the top three?”

Xu Jin’s heart stirred slightly; he immediately grasped the intricacies.

Su Xuan rejecting Heavenly Patrol True Monarch’s transfer was essentially True Monarch Tianzhang taking a stance, aligning with Xu Jin.

The pity is that the Dao Heir assessment tests individual strength, it’s one-on-one, no way for Xu Jin to help Su Xuan even if he wanted.

If it were group combat, Xu Jin wouldn’t mind assisting Su Xuan, thus favoring True Monarch Tianzhang, cementing their collaborative relationship.

But now the problem is, he can’t help.

Just that.

It was the start of a new year, Dongxuan Star Realm went on a grand vacation, celebrating the New Year.

On January 2nd, Xu Jin received notice that his application for early access to climb the Tao Rules Heavenly Road was approved through the Dongxuan Star Realm’s central meeting.

Granted Xu Jin’s request for an early climb of the Tao Rules Heavenly Road.

Of course, other Dao Heirs with multiple chances to climb the Tao Rules Heavenly Road, such as Yuan Chengfa, Su Xuan, and Lu Zhen would also participate.

After all, opening the Tao Rules Heavenly Road once also requires an expenditure of energy.

On January 3rd, a Tao Rules Heavenly Road dedicatedly opened for the four of them.

As for any of them falling out of the top four, that’s just an early enjoyment of this year’s Tao Rules Heavenly Road enlightenment opportunity.

This time, Xu Jin chose to climb the Gold Series Law Heavenly Road.

Yet, before the climb, Xu Jin suddenly had an idea.

An urge to make a bold attempt!
