I Have A Cultivation World

Chapter 28 - 28: 28: Primordial Yang Sword l

Although the Earth Star has entered the era of immortal cultivation, everyone’s lifespan has significantly increased, there are still natural life limits.

The Imperial Medical Academy has conducted a substantial amount of research on lifespan.

After sampling the lifespan limit of a hundred thousand regular cultivators, they concluded the maximum lifespan for each realm’s cultivators.

Qi Practitioners generally have a lifespan of two full cycles of the Chinese Zodiac, which is 120 years.

Foundation Establishment cultivators live for four cycles, 24.0 years.

Gold Core cultivators live for eight cycles, 480 years.

Nascent Soul cultivators double that, at sixteen cycles, or 960 years.

Of course, these figures aren’t absolute and can vary from person to person, but this is the average lifespan of standard cultivators.

If one practices a special cultivation technique, or correctly applies health preservation techniques, or consumes lifespan-extending spiritual medicine, then it’s possible to live a couple more zodiac cycles.

As for god-transcending cultivators, due to the lack of examples and insufficient samples, the Imperial Medical Academy didn’t release any information on that front.

However, based on the previous lifespan pattern, it should be thirty-two cycles, which equals 1920 years, a lifespan of two thousand years.

Chen Mobai’s greatest dream was to successfully achieve Foundation Establishment before the age of 60.

The Imperial Medical Academy also conducted research on cultivators breaking through major realms, and concluded: the rate of success in a breakthrough is highest before one’s lifespan is half over.

For example, Qi Practitioners wanting to establish the foundation are better off trying before the age of 60. Once past this age, no matter how they maintain their Qi cultivation, all kinds of bodily functions will begin to decline drastically.

Originally, Chen Mobai felt that he only had a 1% chance of establishing his foundation before 60, and though he now had the opportunity of the Mysterious Turtle Shell, he felt the possibility was merely 10%.

With the universal cultivation in Celestial Sword, there are three hundred million cultivators.

Those who can ultimately cultivate to the ninth level of Qi Practitioner are one in a hundred.

Among them, those who can successfully establish the foundation are again one in a hundred. The Imperial Medical Academy found, through data analysis of these successful cases, that over ninety percent succeeded establishing their foundation before the age of 60.

Once past 60, without enough vigor and essence, successful foundation establishments are either those with opportunities or are divinely favored.

Establishing the foundation is hard enough, and Core Formation is even harder. The success rate for this realm is one in a thousand.

As for the realm above Core Formation, the Nascent Soul, it hardly needs mentioning. It’s possible that not one appears across several eras.

Celestial Sword’s current Nascent Soul Masters are antiquities accumulated over a thousand years and a hundred eras.

Chen Mobai, with his average talent, had originally neither assurance nor expectations of establishing a foundation before 60, and if he were to additionally spend over a decade cultivating the Three Suns Body, he felt that he was basically done for.

So even though he cherished the “Pure Yang Scroll”, after considering many factors, he felt that he was best off honestly cultivating the “Five Elements Cultivation”.

Qing Ping was a good example right before Chen Mobai’s eyes. Using this most popular Qi cultivation technique, he was able to charge toward the goal all the way, and if he could form the Nascent Soul, then transitioning to the Jade Purity Scripture wouldn’t be a bad path to immortal cultivation either.

Old Man Ding was the bad example, a warning to emulate.

After admonishing himself silently, Chen Mobai suppressed the impulse to go out and trade the large Qing Emperor for the “Pure Yang Scroll: The Qi Cultivation Manual”.

However, even though he thought this way, he couldn’t help but download the tutorial video of Master Shao Yang explaining the cultivation of ‘Pure Yang Daoist Body’.

At least it would help pass the time during today’s class.

“Perfect timing to have a class with Old Man Ding today, I can ask him about the Three Suns Body.”

Murmuring to himself, Chen Mobai pressed the return key to the city.

Office.

“Teacher Ding, you are a disciple of the Pure Yang Academy, can you tell me the difference between the Great Dao Academy and the Four Daoist Academies?”

After class, Chen Mobai, following his usual practice, fell back one step, and while turning into the office to ask for advice on how to crack the Thunder Method Prohibition, he casually asked out of curiosity.

“In fact, according to the size of the student body and the strength of the faculty, the top-ranked Ten Academies are already not much different from the Four Daoist Academies.”

Old Ding loved to teach, and after listening to Chen Mobai’s questions, he shared what he knew.

“So, the difference lies in the cultivation techniques?”

Chen Mobai asked again, trying to steer the conversation towards the “Pure Yang Scroll”.

“The Primordial Elemental Academy and the Pure Yang Academy also possess a Divinity Transformation School, which is no less venerable than the traditions of the Four Daoist Academies.”

Old Ding shook his head.

“So what is the real difference?”

Chen Mobai didn’t dare to bluntly bring up the matter of cultivating the Pure Yang Body, so he could only continue along the line of Old Ding’s words.

“The Four Daoist Academies boast the oldest traditions, and each possesses a God-Transcending cultivator. The founders of the Ten Academies also originated from the Four Daoist Academies, so even if they momentarily surpass the latter, they all stay humble and dare not claim to be the Fifth Daoist Academy.”

“So, what exactly are the Divinity Transformation schools of the Four Daoist Academies?”

These were speculative topics commonly discussed online. Everyone offered different opinions, and Chen Mobai assumed that Old Ding knew the answer. To bring the topic back to the Pure Yang Academy, he kept pressing.

“Those are the highest secrets, only the uppermost figures would be clear about it. However, the dual saints of the Immortal Gate, one originated from the Dance Tool Dao Academy, and the other had studied in the Repairing Heaven Institute in his youth. He is still the honorary dean in name.”

The origins of the two God-Transcending old ancestors were well-known to all.

“However, I do know that the Pure Yang Academy possesses a Rank- 5 high-grade Primordial Yang Sword, which can also be classified as a God-Transcending foundation!”

Just as Chen Mobai was worrying about how to steer the conversation back, Old Ding himself began to talk about matters pertaining to the Pure Yang Academy.

“Among the entire Immortal Gate, there are only three Rank-5 high-grade flying swords. This Primordial Yang Sword was the result of the Primordial Yang ancestor burning his entire Dao Fruit before his death, thus reaching enlightenment. It is now a sentient weapon.”

“The Primordial Yang Ancestor’s eldest disciple used to control this sentient flying sword. They could slay anyone below the level of God-Transcending cultivator with a single strike.”

“However, the minimum requirement to operate this sword is at the Nascent Soul cultivator level, and if one refines it for a prolonged period, it will severely drain one’s essence, which is detrimental to cultivation. Therefore, when I entered the academy, this sword was already sealed and conserved. It is now revered in the hall, and I had the good fortune to pay homage to it once.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Mobai only felt sadness.

A majestic Rank- 5 high-grade flying sword was actually sealed up because there was no one to refine it.

“Isn’t it said that those who cultivate the Pure Yang Body are full of vigor? Why wouldn’t they be able to refine a Primordial Yang Sword?”

“That’s only possible if one fully accomplishes the cultivation of the Pure Yang Body. Even a Nascent Soul cultivator with a Nine Yang Body cannot withstand the spiritual energy drain of the Primordial Yang Sword day and night. Since they already worry about not having enough energy for their own cultivation, how could they possibly spare half of their daily cultivation energy for the sword?”

Old Ding rolled his eyes, and his words made Chen Mobai empathize greatly.

If it were him, he would absolutely refuse to give up half of his hard-earned daily cultivation energy for the Primordial Yang Sword before reaching the Grand Dao level, even if this sword was a God-Transcending artifact.

Considering that only a Nascent Soul cultivator can refine this sword, and that Nascent Soul cultivators view Divinity Transformation as their primary objective, how could they be willing to waste half of their cultivation time on a single sword?

“Isn’t it said that without long-term care and energy supply a magical weapon will degenerate in quality? Wouldn’t this waste the sacrifice of the Primordial Yang Ancestor?”

“Don’t worry, each Rank- 5 artifact is an invaluable cultural asset of the Immortal Gate. Every year, the Immortal Gate remits a certain amount of spirit stones from the national bank, allowing the Pure Yang Academy to preserve the Primordial Yang Sword without letting it degrade. It’s just a pity that the spirit stones allocated are earmarked for this purpose only. Otherwise, the Pure Yang Academy could at least save its students who are cultivating a Pure Yang Body half the time..”
