The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 1789: Chapter 1789: Though Far Away, Must Be Punished

As soon as Duanmu Supreme finished speaking, Jing Yan couldn’t help but laugh.

Jing Yan’s gaze slowly shifted from Duanmu Supreme to scrutinize each of the high-level Supremes who came with Duanmu Supreme.

”Fellow Daoist Jing Yan, what are you laughing at?” Duanmu Supreme’s expression was somewhat unnatural.

Facing Jing Yan, he indeed lacked confidence.

”I just find Fellow Daoist Duanmu’s remarks somewhat amusing. Could it be that Fellow Daoist Duanmu thinks this war was initiated by either me, Jing Yan, or the Sky Creation City Alliance?” Jing Yan’s smile faded, and his gaze intensified.

”Of course not. We all know that this battlefield was orchestrated by Jin Haiwang, who formed the Fire Worship Alliance and declared war on the Sky Creation City Alliance.” Duanmu Supreme said.

”Since Fellow Daoist Duanmu knows the cause of this war, why make such statements? Fellow Daoist Duanmu, have you gone to see how many innocent cultivators of the Sky Creation City Alliance perished in this war? Ha, within the Alliance Territory of Sky Creation City, before my return, dozens of Boundary Domains were breached, and countless cultivators died or were wounded. Shouldn’t this matter be settled clearly?” Jing Yan’s tone grew much heavier.

Duanmu Supreme fell silent.

”Fellow Daoist Jing Yan, we all know that the Sky Creation City Alliance suffered immense losses in this war. However, now that the Fire Worship Path has been eradicated, its territory will also be under the control of the Sky Creation City Alliance. Even Jin Haiwang and others have perished. Don’t these already suffice to compensate for the losses of the Sky Creation City Alliance?”

”Precisely! This war has developed to such an extent that all sides have suffered heavy losses. If we continue to entangle, it will only lead to more deaths. Fellow Daoist Jing Yan, why not step back for a moment and let it go?”

Several of the high-level Supremes who came with Duanmu also spoke up.

Upon hearing these words, Jing Yan snorted coldly, staring at the high-level Supremes who spoke.

”You Daoists say it nicely. Can I understand your meaning as this: that I can now go to your territory, kill as I please, then leave with a pat on the back and a word of apology, and then you wouldn’t pursue it?” Jing Yan said unceremoniously.

”You...”

”Jing Yan, how can you speak like this?”

”We do it for the Chaos Universe, for the countless lives!” Several high-level Supremes showed anger on their faces.

”Enough!” Jing Yan shouted forcefully.

”This matter does not need further discussion, and this war seems unrelated to you; you and I have nothing to discuss. Ha, if you were as altruistic as you claim, you should have stopped Jin Haiwang from invading the Sky Creation City Alliance from the start. Now saying these words, don’t you think you’re too late?”

”Let me make it clear to you: anyone who offends my Sky Creation City Alliance shall be pursued and punished, no matter how far!” Jing Yan said powerfully.

Jing Yan’s words made Ao Tian, Xiao Ye, and other senior members of the Sky Creation City Alliance all boil with excitement.

Anyone who offends my Sky Creation City Alliance shall be pursued and punished, no matter how far!

Even Lady Nu Zhen, Fu Qu, and Shiyang Supreme were deeply moved, feeling invigorated by Jing Yan’s dominance.

Jing Yan is truly a leader.

Now the leader of the Sky Creation City Alliance is unquestionably Jing Yan. It is believed that under Jing Yan’s leadership, the Sky Creation City Alliance will undoubtedly rise rapidly, becoming one of the most powerful forces in this Chaotic Universe.

Duanmu Supreme gave Jing Yan a profound look, his face gradually returning to that of a kindly and amiable old man.

”Since Fellow Daoist Jing Yan has made his decision, the old man will say no more. I hope Fellow Daoist Jing Yan will not regret his decision in the future. Well, we won’t disturb you any longer, farewell!” Duanmu Supreme stood up, cupped his hands towards Jing Yan, and then turned straight away to leave.

The high-level Supremes who came with him also stood up and left.

They parted on bad terms!

The purpose of Duanmu Supreme and others’ visit was mainly to persuade Jing Yan to stop and not continue to clear out Jin Haiwang and others’ subordinates. But their visit was obviously a failure; Jing Yan did not give them face.

Jing Yan did not give them this face, and they had no choice.

Use force? Naturally not! Jing Yan alone is enough to make everyone wary, let alone that he has Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix by his side. Now everyone knows that Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix is practically inseparable from Jing Yan. Anyone who poses a threat to Jing Yan will definitely face resistance from the Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix first.

Who dares to confront Jing Yan and Nine Heavens Divine Phoenix in this Chaotic Universe? Who can contend against them?

Relying on numbers? That won’t work either! Lady Nu Zhen is not easy to provoke either.

When they tried to persuade Jing Yan to back down, Lady Nu Zhen didn’t say a word, which made her stance very clear. Lady Nu Zhen obviously wouldn’t stop Jing Yan from continuing to hunt down the subordinates of Jin Haiwang and others, and might even help him.

In short, their visit did not yield any results.

Jing Yan watched Duanmu and the others leave without standing up to see them off; it was no longer necessary. Initially, Jing Yan thought about giving Duanmu some respect so that future encounters would be cordial. But Duanmu and his people still wanted to interfere at this time; did they really think Jing Yan has such a good temper?

Talking about doing it for the Chaos Universe, that’s nonsense. If there were no selfish interests at stake, it would be strange. There are considerable interests under the subordinates of Jin Haiwang and the six high-level Supremes. If Duanmu and others could make Jing Yan stop, it’s conceivable that they would definitely benefit greatly from it. Their words, though grand-sounding, are essentially for personal gain, aren’t they?

”Just a bunch of hypocrites!” Jing Yan said contemptuously.

Although Jing Yan didn’t name them directly, everyone present knew who he was referring to.

”Jing Yan, are you planning to clear out the forces under Jin Haiwang and others?” Lady Nu Zhen asked.

”Yes, I don’t intend to let them go. Of course, I won’t annihilate them entirely; that would mean killing too many. I’ll only target some of the key members.” Jing Yan nodded.

”If you need help, just say the word.” Nu Zhen also nodded.

”Lady Nu Zhen, and Fellow Daoists Fu Qu and Shi Yang, you need not act in the upcoming matters. Ha, if you really follow me to hunt down the subordinates of Jin Haiwang and others, Duanmu and his group might not treat you well in the future.” Jing Yan waved his hand.

”Who cares!” Fuqu Supreme said indifferently.

”Let’s forget it. You will inevitably have to deal with those people in the future; it’s best not to tear faces with them. Besides, the subordinates of Jin Haiwang and others don’t have anyone significant; I can handle it easily on my own.” Jing Yan shook his head again and said.
