Li Mengxia was gearing up for a significant fight. “Damn it, how dare that bastard disguise himself as Celestial Master Zuo and commit so many hateful acts.”

If I don’t kill him this time, my surname is not Li! Celestial Master Zuo, is there anything that I can do? Please tell me!”

…

The fake Celestial Master Zuo had not stayed in Fucang Association over the past two years. According to rumors, he claimed that the Fucang Association was too small as The Lord’s wife would need a palace which was similar in size to his palace.

Someone proposed to destroy the surrounding area of the building and rebuild the place. However, the fake Celestial Master Zuo denied the proposal. He wanted to keep this palace as it was. He chose another place and hired ten thousand labors to build a new one. It was two times bigger than the Fucang Association. No one knew the layout inside the building as the ten thousand laborers mysteriously disappeared after they had finished building the palace and no one had seen them ever again. Of course, no one dared to ask. According to rumors, a minister who had asked about this incident died very shortly due to illness.

Li Mengxia had also secretly investigated the incident, but she was unable to get past the door to enter the palace. According to her, the palace was like a maze that was filled with traps. The wall surrounding the palace was very high, and it was hidden in a constant fog. One would get lost as soon as they entered through the wall of the palace.

Li Mengxia and her followers were unable to enter during their last attempt and almost got lost in the fog. When Li Mengxia storied about this to Di Fuyi, they had already reached the capital of the Feixing Kingdom.

It had been eight years since Di Fuyi, and Gu Xijiu last stepped into the Feixing Kingdom. The capital had significantly changed, and it was even more magnificent than before!

During their journey, they saw many refugees and dilapidated houses. However, they never expected to see such a bustling capital, and not even a beggar could be found.

Li Mengxia whispered, “The fake Celestial Master Zuo asked Rong Jialuo to drive out all the poor people from the capital. Only those from the middle class or the rich were allowed to stay so that the capital would look more prosperous. However, these people do not have a good life too. The royal family had been collecting taxes from them once every few days. The middle-class families have become extremely poor even though it has only been less than a year. They were being driven out of the capital…”

Gu Xijiu frowned. “How can those people allow themselves to be exploited so willingly?”

Li Mengxia barely smiled and said, “What can they do even if they are not willing to pay their taxes? They would be forced out of the capital if they failed to pay. It is the only peaceful place around here. Even though the taxes are ridiculously high, at least their lives are secured. Many of the people who did not want to pay their taxes had left town. However, most of them were found dead in the paddy fields after two days. Moreover, their belongings had been plundered…”

Gu Xijiu understood that the royal family was murdering these people. She could not help but sigh. It was such a tragic fate when a madman was in control!

It was rather hard to enter the capital as they needed customs clearance documents, identity card, and many other different things.

Fortunately, Li Mengxia had a broad network of allies within the capital, and she had made arrangements accordingly. Besides, Gu Xijiu was an expert in make-up, so the three of them had been disguised as a wealthy man and his family members.

Di Fuyi was now a handsome, wealthy man while Gu Xijiu was his pretty concubine.

Li Mengxia was their lady bodyguard. She had a pair of bright eyes which made her look very energetic.

The three of them entered a restaurant and ordered a table full of dishes. Li Mengxia had been on the run for several months now, and she had not gotten a chance to eat meat since she fled. When she saw the dishes on the table, she became very excited and immediately ate them all.

Suddenly, someone shouted from outside while the three of them were eating, “Celestial Master Zuo is here, kneel!”
