Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Wolf Father’s Shock.

Su Lin, due to his huge exertion of physical strength,

ate again no less than ten pounds of musk ox meat before slowly stopping.

After that,

he rested for a while,

and when his strength had recovered quite a bit,

he set off with the entire wolf pack.

Not only did Wolf Sister,

cousin and Grey White Little Wolf probably miss their mother.

They all grew up fast,

and would certainly surprise Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom upon their return.

Especially cousin,

who transformed almost overnight,

had already become a full-grown Arctic wolf,

with strength and size that were no less than her mother’s.

Furthermore, cousin had not even reached two years of age,

and still had the potential to grow, even break through to a level 5 Arctic wolf.

“Awooo!”

At this moment, Su Lin, with a long howl,

began gathering the members of the wolf pack,

leaving only Little Lone Wolf behind in the cave to stand guard.

Little Lone Wolf was solitary by nature and preferred being alone.

Thus, Su Lin did not bring him along.

“Awooo!”

…

As the echoing response of wolf howls sounded,

the members of the wolf pack all gathered, following behind Su Lin.

When they heard they would be going to see the original pack,

they all showed their excitement.

Among them, Wolf Sister was particularly excited, howling eagerly.

This time, Su Lin was bringing three hundred pounds of grizzly bear meat for Wolf Mom and Wolf Dad.

As for musk ox meat,

Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom, having led the pack for so many years, had certainly eaten it before.

But grizzly bear meat,

was likely something they had never tasted.

This time, he would bring it back for Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom to try something new.

Xiao Hui was close to breaking through to level 5,

and he was very strong,

having embarrassed himself several times in front of the leader,

so this time he wanted to salvage some pride by dragging the grizzly carcass behind on his own.

Cousin wanted to help, but Xiao Hui refused with persistent howls.

Seeing this, Su Lin,

gave a low howl, signalling cousin to keep up.

As for Xiao Hui, this blockhead,

indeed needed to do more work to temper his nature.

Now, Su Lin was leading the four wolves behind him, slowly heading towards the cave where Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom were.

Initially,

when they left the pack, they were five.

Now, on their return,

they were still five, but during that span of about six months,

their strength had improved dramatically.

Even the weakest, Wolf Sister and Grey White Little Wolf, were solidly advancing towards level 3 strength.

“Awooo!”

All the way,

Wolf Sister jumped around excitedly,

as lively as ever.

However, just as Su Lin led the wolf pack out of their territory,

they ran straight into a grizzly bear.

This grizzly bear, known for its calm nature, was accustomed to eating roots, moss, and insects.

Now,

its bulky body laid on the ground, greedily consuming the moss and insects.

Particularly insects,

which, with the arrival of the warm season,

the few insects in the Arctic became active as well.

For these nutrition-rich little creatures, the grizzly bear had a great appetite.

And this grizzly, it merely glanced at the wolf pack and showed no reaction.

When it came to wolves, as long there was no feud,

grizzlies usually couldn’t be bothered with confrontation.

Besides, they could hardly catch them,

and who knows, after a futile chase and depleted energy, they might even fall prey to the wolves.

So, under normal circumstances, in the Arctic, the two species coexisted peacefully.

Especially,

during the increasingly abundant warm seasons,

with plenty of food,

hunters, no longer under the harshness of polar nights, were quite restrained.

This grizzly bear not only had not provoked the wolf pack,

but even moved its cumbersome body,

to another place to forage on the tender roots and fruits of shrubs.

This made Su Lin, who had been somewhat on guard, also relax.

This grizzly bear looked very gentle in nature and not very aggressive.

Of course,

it was unknown whether it was because it smelled the scent of its kind’s carcass behind that it was so sensible.

After the grizzly left,

Su Lin, leading the members of the wolf pack,

took no much time to arrive at the cave where Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom were.

“Awooo!”

He howled loudly,

the resonant howl,

notifying Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom that he was back.

After the howling commenced,

it was not long before,

the silhouettes of Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom appeared at the mouth of the cave.

Following that,

Cousin, Grey White Little Wolf, and Wolf Sister all began to howl as well.

The mother of Grey White Little Wolf and Cousin in the wolf pack,

quickly appeared at the entrance of the cave as well.

Seeing their own pups not far away, they too howled excitedly.

This caused the howling sound,

to rise and fall,

ceaselessly filling the air.

“Awooo!”

Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom were the first to rush over.

Having just arrived, they saw that Su Lin, who was already larger than Wolf Dad,

had grown even bigger.

Coupled with his tail, he now had a body length of nearly three meters.

Such a figure,

was definitely conspicuous among the Arctic wolves.

“Awooo!”

Seeing that their own pup had grown stronger,

Wolf Mom was excited, coming over to lick Su Lin’s fur.

Upon seeing Wolf Mom approach,

Wolf Sister too, in a burst of joy, leapt and pounced on Wolf Mom.

Eagerly sniffing the familiar scent of Wolf Mom.

As for Grey White Little Wolf and Cousin, they were all recognizing their own mothers, expressing their surprise and elation to each other.

Now, Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom,

were in not too bad a condition.

It was apparent,

that in this period,

Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom also had some substantial gains.

And Su Lin, with his careful observations, discovered that

Wolf Mom had actually broken through to level 5,

who was the only female Arctic Wolf at level 5 that he had seen so far.

This showed that,

the Potential Potion used on Wolf Mom was indeed effective.

Besides,

Wolf Dad’s strength had also progressed,

although he hadn’t reached level 7, he was still a formidable presence within level 6.

And while many pups were licking their mother’s fur,

Wolf Dad, with his sensitive sense of smell, quickly picked out a hint of grizzly scent amongst the myriad of odors.

Following this scent,

he saw Little Grey struggling to drag the grizzly carcass.

Wolf Dad approached,

carefully sniffed with his nose, and confirmed that it was indeed the carcass of a grizzly bear.

He even keenly smelled out that,

this was precisely the grizzly bear that had clashed with the wolf pack during the polar night.

This caused Wolf Dad to howl in astonishment.

He knew that whenever his pup came, he might bring some food,

but he never would have imagined that the food would be a grizzly bear!

And not just any grizzly, but that cruel, tyrannical one that wanted to shred any Arctic wolf it saw, a powerful specimen!

Wolf Dad had led the wolf pack to fiercely confront this powerful grizzly bear,

and the final outcome was

the entire wolf pack beaten and returning with loss!

It even resulted in injuries to two of the pack members.

But now,

that brutal and powerful grizzly bear from before

had become food, brought over by his own pup.

For a moment,

Wolf Dad, looking at the grizzly carcass and then turning to glance at Su Lin’s robust two-meter-plus figure,

felt that

the strength of his own pup seemed to have reached a level beyond his comprehension.
