Chapter 2194 Successor of the Prophet Progeny

A loud voice rang in the middle of the snow-capped mountain. It was filled with excitement.

A young man with a slightly sturdy figure flew from afar and arrived in front of two young men who looked identical. They were clearly twins.

The young man’s eyes were gleaming as he asked excitedly, “Nangong Chen, Nangong Yi, did you hear the rumors about Duan Ling Tian?” The young man with a sturdy figure did not wait for the twins to reply before he said, “Let me tell you this. Duan Ling Tian is my junior brother!” He became more and more excited as he spoke. It was as though he wanted everyone to know he was acquainted with Duan Ling Tian.

This young man with a sturdy figure was none other than Gu Li who came to the Upper Province of the Dao Martial Saint Land with Duan Ling Tian back then! Moreover, he had joined the Fire Worship Sect with Duan Ling Tian. However, he had left the Fire Worship Sect later because of the Seven Absolutes Sect’s Third Absolute, the Kratos Progeny. He knew he was extremely lucky for being selected as the successor of the Third Absolute, the Kratos Progeny!

I thought I’ll be able to surpass Junior Brother Ling Tian once I master the Seven Absolutes Sect’s Third Absolute, the Kratos Progeny, and after going through the Six Absolutes Heaven Defying Fate Changing Grand Formation. Who knew he would surpass me again.’ This was Gu Li’s first thought when he learned about Duan Ling Tian becoming a Guardian in the Fire Worship Sect and was ranked 18th on the Supreme Saint Ranking. Moreover, he was widely acknowledged as the number one prodigy in the Dao Martial Saint Land.

Gu Li was, naturally, happy for Duan Ling Tian. In fact, he was so happy that he had instantly gone to see the Nangong twins, the successors of the Seven Absolutes Sect’s Didymus Progeny, to tell them about Duan Ling Tian. He even tried to show off a little when he spoke to them. He wanted them to know that he was friends with Guardian Ling Tian who was currently widely acknowledged as the number one prodigy in the Dao Martial Saint Land.

You know Duan Ling Tian as well?” Nangong Yi asked.

Gu Li did not expect this response. He was stunned.

Gu Li had a confused expression on his face as he looked at Nangong Yi and Nangong Chen. He asked, “Both of you know Junior Brother Ling Tian as well?”

How could there be such a coincidence in this world?

“Of course!” Nangong Yi answered immediately. “Both of us knew Duan Ling Tian since our days in the Mortal Continent. In fact, we know his family and friends as well. However, I’ve never heard him speak about you…” Nangong Yi looked at Gu Li skeptically as he asked, “Gu Li, are you lying? I don’t think I’Ve heard Duan Ling Tian mentiion your name before…”

Gu Li was stunned when he heard Nangong Yi’s words. When he recovered from his shock, his face turned red. How could Nangong Yi say he was lying? He was about to say something in return when…

Nangong Chen who rarely spoke suddenly said, “Liar…”

Gu Li was instantly enraged. He asked, “As the successor of the Seven Absolutes Sect’s Third Absolute, the Kratos Progeny, is there a need for me to lie?”

“I’m not sure,” Nangong Yi shook his head and said. He looked at Gu Li skeptically as though he thought Gu Li was lying. Nangong Chen nodded as well.

Gu Li was frustrated. He quickly tried to explain himself to prove he was not lying. He continued talking for a long time…

Suddenly, Nangong Yi said, “Okay, okay, I’ll stop teasing you.” He burst out laughing with tears in his eyes. It was obvious he had been trying to suppress his laughter all this while.

“Huh?” Gu Li was confused when he saw this.

“Gu Li, although we’ve never met prior to this, I’ve heard of you. I know you are from the Lower Province’s Mystical Sky Mansion. Moreover, you even stayed in the Azure Cloud Platform in the Azure Cloud Mansion,” Nangong Yi said with a smile, “However, when we arrived at the Azure Cloud Mansion, you left the Lower Province along with Duan Ling Tian. That’s why we didn’t meet until now.”

Back then, after Duan Ling Tian brought the Nangong twins and the others away from the Windfall Nation to the Azure Cloud Mansion, he had left the Azure Cloud Mansion for the Upper Province of the Dao Martial Saint Land.

“So you are the ones that Junior Brother Ling Tian brought back to the Azure Cloud Mansion before leaving to the Upper Province. I heard that Junior Brother Ling Tian brought some of his friends back to the Azure Cloud Mansion. I didn’t know that includes both of you.” Gu Li finally figured things out. After that, he glared at Nangong Yi. “Then why did you say you’ve never heard of me before?”

“I was just teasing you,” Nangong Yi said as he laughed.

Gu Li turned to look at Nangong Chen. “Nangong Chen, I didn’t think someone as serious you would also tease me!” ‘You’re too stupid,” Nangong Chen said. As usual, he was stingy with his words.

However, these few words managed to cause all the blood to rush up to Gu Li’s head. “Nangong Chen, are you trying to pick a fight with me?”

“If you want to fight, let’s fight!” Nangong Chen did not back down. “In fact, we, the successors of the Didymus Progeny, were thinking about replacing the Kratos Progeny as the Seven Absolutes Sect’s Third Absolute.”

It was rare for Nangong Chen to speak so much. His words rendered Gu Li speechless. “Nangong Chen, how can you be so shameless? I want to fight you… What does it have to do with the Didymus Progeny?”

Gu Li, naturally, knew the underlying meaning of Nangong Chen’s words. Nangong Chen wanted Nangong Yi to fight with him. Two versus one. Any one of the Nangong twins was not a match for him in a one on one fight. However, if they joined forces, he was not a match for them.

“I think that’s a good idea. The Third Absolute sounds better than the Sixth Absolute.” Nangong Yi nodded solemnly.

“Despicable!” Gu Li said angrily. Perhaps, in the future, he might be able to fight against the Nangong twins at the same time. However, at this moment, he was too weak to do so. He was aware of his own strength. If he really lost the title of the Third Absolute, the predecessors of the Kratos Progeny would definitely roll in their graves.

After Gu Li’s departure, the Nangong Brother looked at each other and burst out laughing.

When they finally managed to stop laughing, Nangong Yi’s eyes were filled with longing. “After hearing all these stories about Duan Ling Tian, I can’t wait to leave the northern region and make a name for myself out there. Previously, I didn’t think half a year is long. However, it feels like a lifetime now. I wonder why Senior Uncle Prophet only allows us to leave after half a year. He said it’s to strengthen our cultivation base, but why do I feel there’s more to it? He’s an old quack! Eh… Why do I feel so cold suddenly?”

Nangong Yi was surprised. It felt as though the temperature in his surroundings had dropped suddenly. Although he had been staying in the snow-capped mountain, he had not felt this kind of cold before. He looked at Nangong Chen to see if he also felt the cold when he saw Nangong Chen looking at him meaningfully before he looked behind him. In fact, Nangong Chen looked a little nervous. Nangong Yi instinctively turned to look behind him.

Nangong Yi’s eyes widened when he saw a shapely figure in the distance. The figure belonged to a white-clad girl who looked like a goddess who had just descended from Heaven. Her bearing was extraordinary. She had long waist-length hair that cascaded down her back like a waterfall. Although her face was covered by a white veil, her beauty still shone through. As she stood in the distance, she emitted an icy aura that caused the temperature to drop.

“I hope this won’t happen again,” the white-clad girl said. As soon as she finished speaking, she vanished without a trace. After she left, the temperature returned to normal.

The Nangong twins sighed in relief.

They say that the Seven Absolutes Sect’s Second Absolute, the Prophet Progeny, isn’t good at combat, but why do I feel like the tradition is about to be broken?” Nangong Yi looked at Nangong Chen and said through Voice Transmission. He had a wry smile on his face.

“She’s very strong. She is no weaker than the successor of the Blazing Phoenix Progeny.” Nangong Chen replied solemnly through Voice Transmission.

Once again, Nangong Yi said through Voice Transmission, “She feels more dangerous than the successor of the Blazing Phoenix Progeny. However, that’s probably because we know the successor of the Blazing Phoenix Progeny.”
