Rebirth: Starting with 10 Billion Us Dollars

61: Chapter 61 Pointing the Sword at a Black HeartChen Mo scrolled through the online comments, a smile involuntarily appearing at the corner of his mouth.

These netizens hadn’t guessed wrong; they understood him too well.

His launch of the Tianxing Desktop Computer this time was aimed directly at Black Heart Think and that General Manager Liu.

The internet capital giants like Ali, Penguin, and Baidu had long since been whipped into submission by him.

There were two other old-school domestic capital tycoons who had to be mentioned.

One was General Manager Liu of Black Heart Think.

The other was President Duan of BBK from the early years.

Among them, General Manager Liu held the highest status, earning the title of the ”Big Brother” of Dragon Country’s capital circles; back then, even Jack Ma was considered a junior in front of him.

As for President Duan, he had retired long ago, but the industry was still full of his people.

The Blue and Green Giants, and the future Huang Zheng of Pinduoduo, were all from his lineage.

At least the Blue and Green Giants were serious about making phones and conducting R&D, which was much better than those who only knew how to assemble parts, so he didn’t plan to move against them.

But Black Heart Think was different.

Back then, Black Heart Think was a state-owned enterprise funded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and supported by the state—a true-blue Dragon Country enterprise.

However, after rounds of maneuvering, it eventually became General Manager Liu’s personal fiefdom.

What was even more disgusting:

High-quality machines were sold to America at low prices;

While inferior machines were sold to fellow countrymen at high prices.

It was dubbed ”America’s Conscience, Dragon Country’s Higher Prices.”

Finally, they simply moved their headquarters abroad and refused to acknowledge being a Dragon Country enterprise in public.

Chen Mo sneered in his heart:

Since you love being an American company so much, I’ll grant your wish.

Soon, the Black Heart Think headquarters was in a complete uproar.

A group of capital tycoons who had been ruthlessly dealt with by Chen Mo before were all crowding General Manager Liu’s office, and Jack Ma was among them.

”General Manager Liu, you can’t just ignore this anymore!”

”Chen Mo has made it clear this time that he wants to drive us to our deaths!”

”A 2,599-yuan desktop with better performance than our five or six-thousand-yuan ones—how are we supposed to compete?”

”You need to step in and have the authorities handle this kind of predatory competition!”

General Manager Liu sat in his chair, his face so somber it looked like it could drip water.

Did he not want to take down Chen Mo?

He wanted to, even in his dreams.

Black Heart Think’s revenue last year was over 180 billion, more than half of which came from the domestic market. Their profits were almost entirely sustained by the domestic market, which was then used to subsidize foreign markets.

With Chen Mo’s move, if they lost the domestic market, Black Heart Think would be crippled, and their net profit would likely turn negative.

But he was also afraid.

Black Heart Think’s annual profit was less than 3 billion, while Tianxing Technology could earn that back in less than a month.

They couldn’t compete in terms of money, and they certainly couldn’t compete in technology.

General Manager Liu rubbed his temples, knowing full well:

”These people just want to push me out to find certain officials to pressure Chen Mo. Black Heart Think is an industrial enterprise with hundreds of thousands of employees; the authorities will have to give us some face.”

After hesitating for a long time, he finally gritted his teeth and spoke:

”...I’ll go give it a try.”

Not two days later, someone indeed approached Chen Mo, speaking in the name of the authorities.

”Mr. Chen, there’s a huge reaction from Black Heart Think’s side. How about sitting down for a talk and adjusting the prices slightly?”

After hearing this, Chen Mo let out a direct sneer, his face filled with disdain.

Talk?

What was there to talk about?

From the day he stepped into the computer industry, he never intended to leave a way out for Black Heart Think.

Didn’t they realize how predatory those foreign CPU and graphics card manufacturers were, and how many years fellow countrymen had been swindled?

Even if he doubled the price, others still wouldn’t be able to compete.

Why should he let his countrymen continue buying high-priced, low-spec products for the sake of these blood-sucking capitalists?

”There’s nothing to talk about.”

Chen Mo replied indifferently.

”I want to make all these capitalists who swindle our people go bankrupt. Not even Jesus can save them; I said so.”

A week later.

The tianxing generation desktop computer officially went on sale.

Starting at 2,599 yuan, with customizable specs and clearly marked prices, it was fair to all.

Seeing the spec sheet, the entire internet went into a frenzy; many people wanted to get one.

”Holy crap! These specs for 2,599 are even more powerful than Black Heart Think’s 6,999-yuan model!”

”A true conscience of domestic products; by comparison, Black Heart Think is just a joke.”

”Did you know that Black Heart Think sells their products abroad for half the price they do domestically?”

”Really?”

”Could it be fake? It was in the news back then—double standards for domestic and foreign markets!”

”It’s bad enough they turned a state-owned enterprise private, but then they even favored outsiders over their own.”

”They moved their headquarters to America, and they still have the nerve to call themselves a national enterprise?”

”Earning money from Dragon Country people to subsidize the American market—unbelievable.”

”We didn’t have a choice before, but now that there’s Tianxing, who would still buy Black Heart Think?”

”Tianxing is venting our frustrations for us!”

On the first day of release.

The Tianxing computer sold a staggering 2 million units.

Sales for all other computer brands plummeted by over 90%.

The stock market was a sea of red.

Black Heart Think’s stock price crashed by more than 40% in a single day.

The entire computer industry and component manufacturers were in a state of wailing and despair.

Chen Mo placed the data on the table, his face showing no emotion.

This was the effect he wanted.

Not just taking down Black Heart Think, but also dealing with those graphics card and chip manufacturers who took the opportunity to hike prices and exploit Dragon Country’s consumers.

However, with sales being so explosive, a new problem arose:

Production capacity couldn’t keep up.

In the Tianxing Industrial Base, chips, phones, computers, cars, rockets, and bicycles were all being manufactured; with over a hundred thousand workers, it had long been operating at overcapacity.

Seeing this, Chen Mo directly announced:

”Tianxing will build branch factories elsewhere; the old base will only keep high-end R&D and some production lines.”

As soon as the news broke.

Within just a few days, officials from hundreds of cities across the country came knocking on his door.

Each one scrambled to offer land, policies, and incentives, all wanting Tianxing Technology to build a factory in their jurisdiction.

Certain people who had previously wanted to pressure Chen Mo were now completely silenced.

Tianxing was competing fairly, solving massive employment issues, and driving local development.

On what grounds could they stop him?

Besides, did everyone at the top really like ”America’s Conscience” like Black Heart Think?

Before, there was no choice.

Now that there was Tianxing—a truly capable one of their own—who would still be willing to indulge those ungrateful traitors?
