Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2864: Legacy

Lightning split the sky of the training arena.

Two female grand magus stood opposite one another, cosmic energy swirling violently around them. One wielded a staff wreathed in crackling arcs of electricity; the other held a radiant bow, its string drawn back as lightning gathered along the arrow shaft.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Bolts collided midair, detonating in bursts of thunder that rolled across the golden mountain. Shockwaves of wind mixed with residual lightning whipped outward, ruffling robes and sending fine gravel skittering across the arena floor.

Emery stood at the edge of the formation barrier, arms folded behind his back as gusts lashed against him. Even through the protective arrays, the clash between two grand magus carried weight.

The combatants were Klea and Rosia.

Since her ascension, Klea had not left the golden mountain. The Divine Instrument—still resonating faintly with the power of her tribulation—was a rare opportunity. For a newly advanced grand magus, there was no better place to stabilize a realm, refine comprehension, and push limits safely.

For three days, she had trained relentlessly.

Rosia thrust her staff forward, releasing a chain of forked lightning that zigzagged unpredictably across the arena.

Klea responded instantly, she raised her palm and condensed lightning into a circular barrier that shattered the incoming arcs into harmless sparks.

Rosia laughed lightly.

”Sister Klea, your lightning spell is spectacular! I’ve cultivated this law for three hundred years, yet you make me feel embarrassed.”

Klea smiled despite the strain. ”Senior Sister, don’t tease me. I still unable to land any hit on you.”

Their words were friendly—but their attacks were not.

Emery let out a slow breath as he watched the exchange.

Rosia’s experience was undeniable. As Izta’s vice commander, she had been through countless battle. Her tactics were layered, deceptive. She forced Klea to expend energy reacting, constantly adjusting angles and rhythm.

Her experience allowed her to keep Klea contained.

But that was all.

Emery could see it clearly—Rosia was controlling tempo but could not pressed.

Klea’s aura still burned bright, her deeper reserves untouched.

She wasn’t being forced to give her all.

Emery turned slightly and glanced at the woman standing quietly next to him.

”Your turn.”

Morgana did not respond with words.

She simply stepped forward.

In the next heartbeat, her body erupted in cosmic flame.

Crimson-gold fire engulfed her form, the air around her distorting from intense heat and with a single explosive step, she shot into the arena like a blazing comet.

Klea blinked.

”Wow, two cosmos is too much!” she called out lightly, feigning protest. ”Is this fair treatment for a newly advanced grand magus?”

But when Morgana’s flaming claw carved downward in a ruthless arc, humor vanished from Klea’s face.

She knew better.

Morgana did not play around.

Their first collision shook the arena.

Lightning met flame in a blinding explosion that sent spirals of incandescent sparks outward. Morgana pressed forward relentlessly, each strike heavy with destructive intent. Her dawn transformation body radiated oppressive heat; even residual flame in the air felt sharp and suffocating.

Klea was forced backward immediately.

To match Morgana’s speed alone required more than footwork. Silver light flared behind her as she activated the Icarus Wings. The artifact unfolded with grace, lightning veins pulsing along its feathers while wind runes shimmered faintly across its surface.

Despite feeling slightly heavy on her, the wings synchronized perfectly with her cultivation.

They did not merely grant flight—they amplified her lightning and wind laws, stabilizing her acceleration and sharpening her reactions.

With a powerful beat, Klea surged upward.

Morgana followed without hesitation.

The two figures became streaks of light and flame, weaving through the arena in violent arcs.

Morgana’s unleashed a sweeping torrent of fire that engulfed the airspace around Klea.

Klea countered instantly.

She condensed ice into a frontal crystalline barrier, a curved shield of translucent frost layered with wind currents. Flames crashed against it in a roaring surge, steam hissing violently as the two forces struggled.

The barrier cracked—but held.

They clashed again.

And again.

Every exchange was faster. Harder.

The arena’s formation barrier trembled under residual shockwaves as wind shredded flame and fire melted frost in endless cycles.

Watching the intense sparring unfold beneath the crackling sky, Grand Magus Rosia let out a slow, contemplative sigh.

”You new generations have already surpassed us,” she said quietly, though there was no bitterness in her voice. ”It’s thrilling to witness... but also unsettling for old folk like me.”

Emery smiled at her.

”You are far from being surpassed, Sister.”

And he meant it.

Rosia’s lightning might not overwhelm Klea now, but her instincts, her battlefield awareness, and her composure under pressure were things no sudden breakthrough could replicate.

Emery couldn’t help reminiscing about his early days at the academy, when Izta and his five wives would earnestly thought them their respective skills. Emery himself had not learned much directly from Rosia, but both Klea and Chumo had—Klea studying advanced lightning spells under her guidance, and Chumo refining his archery techniques.

Thinking about Chumo stirred a quiet memory in Emery’s mind. Without further hesitation, he reached into his domain and retrieved two items, handing them to Rosia.

The first was a finely crafted quiver containing five uniquely forged arrows—[Wyrmheart Teeth]. Each arrowhead was carved from the refined soul essence of godly beasts and carried destructive might comparable to a tier-eight strike. Emery had purchased them at Alfa Station, originally intending them for Chumo. But given Chumo’s circumstances, he had long considered entrusting them to Rosia instead.

The quiver alone was extraordinary.

Yet the second item he revealed was even more precious.

It was a small wooden box one given by Chumo. When opened, it revealed a talisman engraved with the mark of a dark raven. The moment Rosia extended a strand of divine sense toward it, she understood its significance.

The talisman housed a powerful spirit creature—Chumo’s spirit raven. His legacy.

It designed to be fused into one eye, allowed the user to form a pact and awaken the skill known as the Eye of the Raven, dramatically enhancing perception, long-range tracking, and divine sense precision.

Emery simply stated that it would be far more useful in her hands.

Rosia initially refused. The items were rare, priceless—and deeply personal. But Emery insisted. Strengthening her meant strengthening the Earth faction. She was not merely a veteran warrior; she was one of its pillars.

In the end, Rosia accepted both gifts with visible gratitude.

By then, Klea and Morgana had concluded their sparring. Klea had been decisively defeated, her aura still flickering from the strain. Yet there was no frustration in her expression. Instead, she immediately sat down in lotus position, closing her eyes to meditate. The duel had granted her fresh insight, and she seized it without delay.

As she entered deep cultivation, Veyarel approached and offered the others access to the Divine Instrument.

Emery did not decline.

They remained at the facility for several more days. Though the Karat faction allowed them to use it freely, Emery insisted on supplying the necessary materials. Only then did he learn the true cost.

Each activation consumed resources worth dozens million spirit stones—and lasted only a few hours.

Emery could only shake his head.

”Damn... being in the grand magus realm is expensive.”
