I’m really just an NPC

Chapter 7

Chapter 7
Lin Fan fell asleep and had a dream.

He dreamed that he had traveled to the game ”Rise of the Wasteland” and became the younger brother of Murphy, Queen of Doom.

He tried every means to avoid Murphy, but was finally caught by her, and even Murphy discovered the secret of his time traveler.

At the end of the dream, he was tied to the bed by Murphy and tortured severely, asking for all kinds of news. His whole body was sore and sore that he couldn’t escape even if he wanted to.

ah~
It was just dawn outside, and Lin Fan woke up suddenly from the bed: ”This dream is really terrifying, how can I be suppressed all the time, it’s too bullying!”

The picture in front of me gradually became clearer. As far as I could see, I could see a broken wall. The part where the paint had peeled off was like an ugly scar. The white paint that had not fallen off had already become colorful, and the mottled parts revealed the vicissitudes of life.

Slightly to the left is a window, the glass on it has been shattered long ago, and several boards of different thicknesses are nailed to it, barely sheltering it from the wind and rain.

Bright light leaked from the gaps in the planks, causing Lin Fan to squint his eyes.

where is this?
My house is a high-rise building with an excellent view, and when the curtains are drawn, the flowers bloom in spring.

Oh, I remembered, I crossed over.

”They say dreams and reality are opposite, I hope so. Then I should tie Murphy to the bed, hold her down and beat her. It’s quite exciting to think about it.”

It takes a lot of strength to rub Murphy on the bed. Lin Fan, who was frightened by the scene in his dream, quickly checked the biggest support that could make him stronger.

”System Panel.”

With a whisper in his heart, a string of data streams exploded in front of him instantly.

”upgrade.”

[Congratulations, level +1. 】

[All attributes +1, free attribute points +1]

”Ah~”

A warm current appeared out of thin air, causing Lin Fan to close his eyes comfortably.

The warm current came and went quickly, like a hallucination, Lin Fan lifted his clothes and hammered the muscles on his chest, feeling much firmer, which proved that the strength of the system improvement was real.

On Planet Aquamarine, there is only one main profession of ”Warrior”, and one can take up the job through advanced tasks when reaching the tenth level. Before the tenth level, the player’s main occupation is a warrior, and the attribute bonuses obtained by each level are the same.

In addition, ”Rise of the Wasteland” has a very rich sub-professional system, the number of positions is not limited, and the ranks from low to high are apprentice, qualified, good, excellent, professional, and top.

After the sub-professional level is higher, depending on the type of occupation, there are different attributes, health and stamina bonuses.

But it is different from the general game where you can level up by investing experience. In ”Rise of the Wasteland”, if you want to upgrade your sub-profession, you not only need to find an NPC who is willing to train you, or find the corresponding professional books, but also pay for it. experience and training fees.

What’s worse is that the training fee is paid to the system. If the NPC who trains you also asks you to charge the tuition fee, you will have to pay twice the money, which is evil!

The upgrading of skills is similar to that of sub-professions, but it is still a bit of a conscience for game developers. In addition to finding someone to train or reading professional books to learn, skills can also be upgraded through the improvement of proficiency.

Upgrading skills after reaching full proficiency does not require experience or training fees, but it does take time.

Closer to home.

After upgrading, Lin Fan still had some free attribute points in his hand.

After thinking about it, Lin Fan didn’t rush to add some, he saved it first, good steel should be used on the blade.

Goooooooo~
His stomach suddenly growled, and the ”mild hunger” prompt was displayed on the system panel. Lin Fan knew it was time to eat.

Pour some water into the pot and bring it to a boil. Lin Fan took out the leftover half of the brown bread from the cupboard last night, soaked it until soft, and ate it in his stomach.

I didn’t feel the taste after eating it for the first time last night, but this morning Lin Fan felt it was tasteless: ”Bah, it tastes really bad. I’ll go buy white bread soon.”

wow~
After he was full, Lin Fan picked up the kettle and shook it, only to find that the potable water had bottomed out.

So Lin Fan carried the kettle out of the door and walked toward the inner city.

……

People will die if they don’t drink water for three days. The importance of drinking water is self-evident.

Under the high walls of the inner city, there was already a long line of people queuing up from the outer city to buy water.

Yes, water has to be bought, and it is only sold in the early morning.

There are dozens of water selling stations in a circle outside the inner city wall. People from the outer city can buy water nearby. If they arrive late, the water may even be sold out.

At present, only the consortium in the inner city has mastered the method of purifying water, which is equivalent to having a monopoly position, and it is natural to charge for drinking water.

The price is not expensive, the cheapest is one yuan for five liters, but you have to bring your own container.

But just this one dollar, some people can’t afford it.

”Master Inner City, give me some water. My man was injured while hunting a few days ago. He spent all his money on doctor visits. He died today. The two children haven’t had a sip of water all day.”

A gray-faced woman held a child in each hand and knelt at the water sales counter, kowtowing.

A chubby man with a clean face waved his hands impatiently: ”Go away, go, I don’t have money for water, I’ve already overtaken you once, don’t force me to do it.”

Two inner city soldiers in uniforms were staring at the side. It seemed that as long as the fat man gave an order, they would take the three orphans and widows out, and even reward them with two kicks.

The two children were a little frightened by the soldiers, and they shrank away from the disheveled woman. The woman cried and her eyes dried up, so she shook her body and pulled the two children out of the water store.

Then he knelt on the side of the masonry road outside the door and kowtowed when he saw a person coming out carrying water.

Just ask for a sip of water.

But no one is willing to give a drop of water, no one.

……

Lin Fan came to the inner city wall, and took a long look at the place where the reward announcement was announced, and found that no one was there to join in the fun, so he was a little confused.

Will Wang Dalong’s death not be investigated in the inner city? ?
It’s a good thing not to check, Lin Fan didn’t think about it any more, he carried the kettle into the water station, put his hand in his pocket, and handed five yuan to the water seller.

”Your kettle is too small, it can’t hold five yuan, but can only hold two yuan.” The water salesman is also a real person.

Lin Fan nodded, ”Then pretend it’s two yuan.”

The water salesman nodded, took the kettle and started filling it.

While waiting, a tall soldier came over and said condescendingly, ”Investigate, did you encounter any mutant mice that actively attacked people last night?”

Lin Fan’s thoughts changed sharply, and he instantly understood the reason for the soldier’s question. He thought, ”There are smart people in this consortium, and their reaction speed is not slow. They have already guessed that the rat wave may erupt, and they are collecting evidence.”

”Perhaps they attributed Wang Dalong’s death to the mutated mouse, so there was no reward for solving the case!” Lin Fan suddenly realized.

After careful consideration, Lin Fan was ready to tell the soldier the truth.

After all, the more prepared the consortium is, the more secure he will be when he gains experience here.

But as long as Lin Fan was thinking about it, the tall soldier who asked the question was already impatient: ”Are you stunned? Are you a fool? Tell me what I want to ask you quickly.”

People from the inner city are so impatient and polite to people from the outer city.

”I saw it last night.” Lin Fan didn’t have the strength to cause trouble now, and he didn’t want to fight with dogs, so he decided to endure it. ”A mouse rushed towards me with red eyes, but it was caught by the hunting trap I put. It was so pinched that it was squeaking and squeaking. That mouse was so big, it was big enough...”

Lin Fan suddenly stretched out his hand and gestured to the tall soldier, ”It’s as big as your head.”

The tall soldier had black lines all over his head, and he felt that the mud boy in front of him was really hateful. Didn’t this imply that his head was caught?

I don’t know if this guy did it on purpose or if he lacked adjectives in his head.

Just at this time, the water salesman packed the water: ”Your water, and three dollars for you, take it and go quickly, don’t get in the way.”

Lin Fan quickly slipped away with the kettle in his arms.

The tall soldier did not dare to leave his post without authorization and could only watch Lin Fan leave angrily.
