Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 118: Diverting Mantle Water into the Ocean to Submerge the Entire Blue PlanetJiang Feng felt a flash of light before his eyes; suddenly, the entire seabed became bright.

What is this!

Jiang Feng’s snake eyes widened as he looked beneath the seabed.

A boundless behemoth, so vast that he couldn’t see its end, was lying there.

If it hadn’t moved just a moment ago, one would have mistaken it for a mountain range on the ocean floor.

It was too big!

The behemoth’s body length was at least over a hundred kilometers.

Its physique was a retro biological form that blended the armor of an arthropod, the streamlined shape of a whale, and the majesty of a dragon.

With every slow beat of its heart, the entire ocean seemed to pulsate along with it.

Each of its breaths could form a deep-sea current, and a single shift of its body could trigger an undersea earthquake.

It was the Lord of the Ocean, the Abyssal Behemoth, Lord of the Ocean.

All the surrounding behemoths looked at Him with awe, Lord of the Ocean.

”I am Lord of the Ocean; you may call me Lord of the Ocean.” The voice of Lord of the Ocean came from an unknown source, yet it was clearly transmitted to the ears of every behemoth.

”I was born at the end of the Triassic period and witnessed the tectonic upheavals of the Great Extinction. I have survived for hundreds of millions of years. I have awakened again because the universe is about to face a Great Cataclysm, a catastrophe that only Civilization Level behemoths can withstand.

I am a peak Quasi-Civilization Level behemoth, just one step away from entering the Civilization Level. As long as I ascend to the Civilization Level, I can lead you all to survive this cosmic cataclysm. You only need to obey my commands.”

The incomparably majestic voice of Lord of the Ocean resonated in the minds of every behemoth like the sound of the Great Dao.

In front, closest to Lord of the Ocean, were eight Continent Level behemoths over a thousand meters long.

Each of them was a colossus in the ocean, a being that even nuclear bombs could not destroy.

At this moment, they were bowing to Lord of the Ocean with immense respect and piety.

”We will strictly obey the order of the Lord of the Ocean,” the eight Continent Level behemoths shouted in unison.

Led by the eight Continent Level behemoths, all the other behemoths followed suit, shouting in unison: ”We will strictly obey the order of the Lord of the Ocean.”

Jiang Feng was no exception; he followed Snake Mother and the group of snakes and shouted along. He looked just like a devout little lackey snake.

Lord of the Ocean was very satisfied with the performance of the behemoths, and he continued:

”The ocean is currently incomplete. Only when the entire surface of the planet is covered by the ocean will it be a complete ocean. At that time, I will ascend to the Civilization Level.

Now, I order you to eliminate all land creatures and spread the power of the ocean to every corner of the planet. I need you to level all land mountains and shatter the land plates to sink them into the sea.

I will personally open the Eye of the Sea Spring here, draw the water from the Blue Planet’s mantle, and assist you in submerging all the continents. By then, the entire planet will belong to us, the sea beasts.”

The voice of Lord of the Ocean suddenly became high-pitched, and all the behemoths were encouraged by his words.

”Eliminate land creatures, level the mountains, shatter the land, and let the ocean cover the globe.”

”Eliminate land creatures, level the mountains, shatter the land, and let the ocean cover the globe.”

”Eliminate land creatures, level the mountains, shatter the land, and let the ocean cover the globe.”

The sea beasts shouted in unison, all excited, wishing they could go and destroy the land right now.

Even Jiang Feng, a snake who was a human in his past life, felt a long-lost sense of hot-blooded passion.

Using mantle water to submerge the entire surface of the Blue Planet—this kind of great power was truly immense. It was also a target that could genuinely be achieved.

One must know that the thickest part of the Earth’s crust, where humans and behemoths live, is only a few dozen kilometers thick. Compared to the Blue Planet with a radius of over six thousand kilometers, it was thinner than human skin.

The mantle is several thousand kilometers thick; the amount of water inside might even exceed several oceans. As long as Lord of the Ocean had the ability to bring out the water from the mantle, submerging the entire land of the Blue Planet would be easy.

The voice of Lord of the Ocean continued to ring out.

”Perhaps some of you are behemoths that came from the land, but that does not matter. As long as you join the sea beast faction now, you will receive my protection.

Next, I will carve my mark onto all of you behemoths. After being marked, you will be my sea beasts. You must not kill each other; your marks will absorb the marks of the behemoths you kill. After absorbing other marks, the color of the mark will turn red.

Therefore, do not think about secretly killing beasts and destroying the evidence. Any behemoth found with a red mark will be hunted down by all other beasts.”

The tone of Lord of the Ocean suddenly became severe. After he finished speaking, countless rays of light immediately radiated from his body, each ray shooting toward the forehead of one of the behemoths.

Jiang Feng’s forehead was also struck by a ray of light. He did not dare to resist and let the light carve something onto his forehead.

After a long while, a starfish-like mark appeared on the foreheads of all the behemoths.

The starfish marks were not exactly the same; some were hexagrams, some were pentagrams, and others were quadragrams. Jiang Feng’s was a quadragram, Snake Mother’s was a pentagram, and the eight Continent Level behemoths had hexagrams. The higher the strength, the more points on the star. Most were quadragrams; in the snake group where Jiang Feng was, only Snake Mother had a pentagram, and all the other snakes had quadragrams.

Damn, I’ve become a sea beast?

Jiang Feng felt the mark on his forehead, feeling both shocked and bewildered. What shocked him was the words of Lord of the Ocean, which left him unable to recover for a long time; an ancient creature that had lived for hundreds of millions of years. A creature about to enter the Civilization Level was planning to destroy the Blue Planet. No, it was to submerge the Blue Planet. That meant all humans would be eliminated, unless humans could survive in the ocean.

If any other behemoth had made such a boast, Jiang Feng would certainly have scoffed at it. Submerging all the land on the Blue Planet—even a god couldn’t do that! Where did a mere behemoth get the confidence?

But Jiang Feng had to believe the words of Lord of the Ocean; a creature that had lived for hundreds of millions of years, with a body larger than a mountain range. Such an existence could not be described by simple deities.

Turning the entire Blue Planet into an ocean—Jiang Feng did not know whether to be happy or worried. If it were his human mindset from his past life, he certainly wouldn’t want such a thing to happen. But he was a snake now, and he could survive perfectly well in the ocean. More importantly, humans rejected him, and he also wanted revenge against humans. Without his Owner, he felt that the destruction of humanity didn’t seem unacceptable. He might still have some feelings for the Dragon Kingdom, but he was a snake and could not change such a massive trend. Nor did he have the power to stop Lord of the Ocean. Moreover, becoming a sea beast made it convenient for him to find the murderer of his Owner. Since that was the case, I might as well be a good sea beast!

Perhaps the land was not as simple as imagined. If there was an existence like Lord of the Ocean in the sea, there might be such existences on land as well. It seemed to confirm Jiang Feng’s conjecture. The voice of Lord of the Ocean continued to ring out,

”Of course, wanting to destroy the land is not a simple matter, because there are also many powerful existences on land.”

”I appoint Mosasaurus, Megalodon, Melville (Whale), Toste (Squid), Deinosuchus, Dunkleosteus (Fish), Dragon King (Whale), and Anomalocaris—you eight Continent Level behemoths—as commanders to lead all sea beasts. Each of you eight will select the behemoth groups present. I have sensed that there are behemoths in some sea areas that have not come; you can also go and conquer them. Sea beasts without the mark will not receive my protection. You eight commanders must send behemoths to report the battle situation to me every month; do not be lazy or slack off.”

”Yes, Lord of the Ocean.” The eight Continent Level behemoths replied respectfully.

”Go. On the Antarctic Continent, there is a sleeping Continent Level behemoth, the Ice Dragon. It might prevent you from invading the land. While it is still in its slumber, you eight should join forces to kill it. Start the first step of your conquest of the land by destroying the Antarctic Continent! My subjects! I hope you can destroy all land within a hundred years.”

After Lord of the Ocean finished giving his final instructions, the seabed instantly returned to its original deep darkness. The figure of Lord of the Ocean also disappeared.

If it weren’t for the obvious star-shaped marks on the foreheads of the numerous behemoths, everyone might have felt that what just happened was an illusion.

The eight Continent Level behemoths began to select from the peripheral behemoth groups. The sea snake group where Jiang Feng and his kin were located was immediately favored by several Continent Level behemoths. Because sea snakes could go ashore, they had more advantages for attacking the land; those Continent Level behemoths were not stupid at all.
