Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 105 Searching for FoodAfter putting Su Ling down, Jiang Feng discovered a serious problem.

The fishing boat was lost, and Su Ling had nowhere to stay, so she could only splash around in the sea.

Jiang Feng had no choice but to lower his snake head and lift Su Ling up.

”Su Ling, the situation was urgent just now, and there wasn’t enough time to take the fishing boat with us,” Jiang Feng explained.

”It’s okay, Xiaobai,” Su Ling said, sitting on Jiang Feng’s snake head, rolling up her skirt, and dangling her legs in front of Jiang Feng’s eyes.

Jiang Feng was in no mood to admire the scenery right now; the kilometer-long giant beast kept him constantly vigilant of his surroundings.

”Su Ling, do you know where we are right now?” Jiang Feng realized he seemed to be lost.

”Xiaobai, I don’t know where we are either,” Su Ling said with a melancholy look. She was feeling a bit hungry now, and with the fishing boat gone...

Could she still survive? She didn’t want to be too much of a burden on Xiaobai.

Seeing that Su Ling didn’t know either, Jiang Feng had no choice but to swim in a direction based on his intuition.

This time, Jiang Feng wasn’t swimming very fast because Su Ling was on his head; if he swam too fast, he would throw her off.

While swimming, Jiang Feng suddenly heard a rumbling sound.

Jiang Feng was very familiar with this sound, and the source of the noise was right above his head.

It was the sound of Su Ling’s stomach; she was hungry!

”Su Ling, are you hungry? How long has it been since you’ve eaten? Didn’t you eat the shark meat from before?”

Jiang Feng blurted out a series of questions; he had thought Su Ling would take good care of herself and be easy to look after.

”Xiaobai, the fishing boat’s gas stove broke. I didn’t eat the shark meat, and since it went bad later, I threw it away.”

The gas stove broke?

Jiang Feng suddenly remembered that he seemed to have capsized the boat earlier. Could it be that the water that got in broke the gas stove?

”Su Ling, I’m sorry,” Jiang Feng apologized.

”It’s okay, Xiaobai. Even if the gas stove hadn’t broken, it wouldn’t have lasted long anyway; there wasn’t much gas left, and besides, I didn’t want to eat the shark meat.”

”Then doesn’t that mean you haven’t eaten in almost twenty hours?”

”Something like that! Xiaobai, I can still endure it for a while.”

”Su Ling, you’ll starve to death if you keep this up,” Jiang Feng said, feeling very guilty.

He had almost starved Su Ling to death. He had thought Su Ling would be easy to take care of; having been a snake for so long, he had almost forgotten how fragile humans were.

”Su Ling, how about you eat some raw fish? I’ll catch some for you,” Jiang Feng suggested.

”Xiaobai, it’s fine, I can go hungry for a few days,” Su Ling said, not caring at all.

She didn’t want to eat raw fish right now.

Jiang Feng fell silent for a moment; since Su Ling didn’t want to eat it, he couldn’t force her.

In the vast ocean, besides fish, what other food was there for Su Ling to eat?

Perhaps he needed to find land or an island as soon as possible.

”Su Ling, hold on tight to me. I’m going to pick up speed, and we’ll go find an island.”

”Okay.” Su Ling untied her belt and tied herself tightly to Jiang Feng’s snake body.

Seeing this, Jiang Feng immediately increased his speed. Along the way, he encountered some giant beasts.

Jiang Feng didn’t even pay them any mind, quickly brushing past them; even if the giant beasts wanted to chase him, they couldn’t catch up.

There was no rush to kill the giant beasts; he had plenty of time for that later.

Finding an island first was the top priority.

Three hours later,

Jiang Feng looked at the vast sea surface in frustration; there was absolutely no sign of an island.

”Su Ling, are you okay?”

”I’m fine, Xiaobai, don’t worry,” Su Ling said, comforting Jiang Feng instead.

Jiang Feng looked around, wanting to choose a new direction.

Just then, Jiang Feng suddenly spotted a black object on the sea surface a kilometer away.

It looked like a package.

How could there be a package on the sea surface?

Jiang Feng was puzzled and decided to go take a look.

Perhaps it was something a human had accidentally dropped, or perhaps it contained supplies.

A glimmer of hope suddenly rose in Jiang Feng’s heart.

Soon, Jiang Feng swam to the vicinity of the package.

It was a waterproof, airtight backpack.

”Su Ling, look, what is this?” Jiang Feng called out to Su Ling.

Su Ling poked her head out and saw the object on the sea surface; a flash of excitement immediately crossed her eyes.

”It’s a backpack. How could there be a backpack here?”

”I don’t know, open it and see.” Jiang Feng picked up the backpack in his mouth and placed it in front of Su Ling.

Su Ling stood on Jiang Feng’s snake body, picked up the backpack, and opened it.

Upon seeing the items inside, Su Ling immediately looked pleasantly surprised.

”Food, there’s food inside, and water too.”

Su Ling happily took out some crackers and bread.

”That’s great, Su Ling, you finally don’t have to go hungry anymore,” Jiang Feng said, feeling happy for her.

”Yeah, Xiaobai, we are really lucky to be able to find food even out at sea,” Su Ling said while eating the crackers.

Su Ling’s seemingly careless remark immediately made Jiang Feng ponder.

That’s right! How could they be so lucky to have food fall from the sky?

”Su Ling, where do you think this backpack came from?” Jiang Feng couldn’t help but ask.

Su Ling’s swallowing motion paused; she had been lightheaded from hunger just a moment ago.

She hadn’t been in the mood to think about much, only wanting to quickly satisfy her hungry stomach.

Now, she realized it seemed too coincidental.

The ocean was so big; even if someone had dropped food into the sea, how could it be such a coincidence that they just happened to find it?

Su Ling suddenly thought of what Director Xia Weiguo had said earlier about ships from various countries being attacked on the sea.

Perhaps they had arrived near the scene of the attacked ships, and this was a package left behind by a victim.

Thinking of this, Su Ling felt a sting in her heart.

The victim had been devoured by a giant beast, but the food they left behind had saved her life.

”Xiaobai, we might have come to the vicinity of the attacked ships. This should be a package from a victim on board, and the one who was carrying a package and met with disaster in the depths of the ocean must have been a cruise ship,” Su Ling slowly explained her deduction.

Most importantly, she knew about that large cruise ship from what Director Xia Weiguo had told her.

It was a cruise ship carrying over four thousand passengers.

So that was it?

Jiang Feng realized.

”Su Ling, since it’s a cruise ship, there must be a lot of food inside. I want to go down to the seabed and look for it.”

Jiang Feng planned to collect more food, lest he fail to find an island and Su Ling starve to death.

”Xiaobai, this place must have been besieged by giant beasts. Will we be in danger if we stay here?” Su Ling asked with some worry.

Upon learning it was that cruise ship, Su Ling’s heart immediately tightened.

”The giant beasts should have already left; I haven’t sensed them in the vicinity,” Jiang Feng said, having just confirmed the situation around them.

”Then be careful.” Seeing that Xiaobai had already made up his mind, Su Ling stopped trying to dissuade him.

There was no safe place for them in the vast ocean anyway; perhaps this place, having been visited by giant beasts before, was actually safer.

Jiang Feng told Su Ling to stay on the sea surface and be careful; he couldn’t take her diving with him.

Fortunately, there was a backpack that allowed Su Ling to stay on the sea surface relatively easily; otherwise, if Jiang Feng went down for several hours, Su Ling might not have been able to hold on for that long.
