Entertainment: Who Said That the Golden Supporting Role Cannot Become the Top Stream

48: The storm subsided and the momentum returnedThe follow-up handling of the “Ancient Sword Fall” incident was even swifter and more decisive than Lin Da had imagined.

Under Director Zheng Guofeng’s firm stance and Producer Qin Ya’s active mediation, the police quickly uncovered the truth. The young set worker involved, under irrefutable evidence and psychological pressure, confessed to Sun Hao and Zhang Yang instructing him to commit the intentional harm.

Sun Hao and Zhang Yang, these two young actors who had once been so arrogant and overbearing on set, ultimately paid a heavy price for their foolishness and malice. They were not only officially expelled from the crew of the chronicles of the great ming dynasty, but Xinghui Entertainment also swiftly terminated their contracts, distancing themselves. What awaited them was the severe punishment of the law and the complete end of their acting careers.

This news, as if it had grown wings, quickly spread throughout the entire crew, and also caused no small stir in the Beijing Circle film and television industry through some “internal channels.”

For a time, Lin Da’s name once again became the focus of discussion.

However, this time, in addition to admiration for his superb acting skills, there was more respect for his character and wisdom, and… a hint of imperceptible awe.

Everyone realized that this seemingly gentle and humble newcomer was by no means a soft persimmon to be easily manipulated. He not only had strength and brains, but also the courage and means to remain calm in the face of crisis and launch a thunderous counterattack.

The atmosphere in the studio also became more harmonious and pure as a result.

Without Sun Hao and Zhang Yang, those who had once harbored grudges against Lin Da due to jealousy or personal gain also put away their petty thoughts. Everyone’s focus returned to the creative process itself.

After the incident subsided, Director Zheng Guofeng specifically sought out Lin Da for a long talk.

“Lin Da,” Director Zheng’s tone held a hint of relief and a bit of lingering fear, “This incident truly wronged you. It’s also my fault for being a poor judge of character, allowing such a black sheep into the crew.”

“Director Zheng, please don’t say that,” Lin Da quickly replied, “You and the crew are also victims in this matter. I believe this is just an isolated incident and doesn’t represent the general atmosphere of the entire industry.”

“It’s good that you think that way,” Zheng Guofeng nodded approvingly, “However, you must also remember, while you shouldn’t harbor malicious intent towards others, you must always be on guard. Now that you’re gaining fame, it’s inevitable that you’ll attract jealousy and schemes from some people. In the future, always be extra cautious when you’re out.”

“I understand, Director Zheng. Thank you for your guidance,” Lin Da said gratefully.

“Mhm.” Zheng Guofeng patted his shoulder, “You don’t need to worry about anything else. Just focus on acting your part well. With me here, no one will dare to touch a hair on your head!”

Director Zheng’s words undoubtedly gave Lin Da peace of mind.

For the subsequent filming, Lin Da was even more focused, wholeheartedly immersing himself in the portrayal of the character Wei Zhongxian.

His newly acquired Aura Control (Intermediate) skill also played a huge role during filming.

While filming a scene where Wei Zhongxian comforted a frightened young prince, Lin Da silently thought: “Aura Control – Soothe.”

Instantly, a gentle and reassuring aura emanated from him, gently enveloping the young actor who had been crying incessantly due to a nightmare.

The young actor, who had been somewhat nervous and crying, after feeling the peculiar soothing power emanating from Lin Da, actually gradually calmed down, and the fear in his eyes dissipated considerably. He snuggled into Lin Da’s arms and quickly entered the state of dependence and trust set by the character.

This scene was filmed exceptionally smoothly, and the young actor’s performance exceeded expectations, even astonishing Director Zheng Guofeng.

“Lin Da, you kid… do you have some kind of magic on you?” Director Zheng joked, “That little fellow is usually a mischievous devil, but today, in front of you, he’s so well-behaved and obedient!”

Lin Da merely smiled faintly, without offering much explanation.

In another scene, where Wei Zhongxian had a secret late-night talk with a loyal old subordinate, discussing how to deal with the treacherous situation in the court, Lin Da attempted to use the “Aura Control – Empathy” mode.

He completely immersed himself in Wei Zhongxian’s complex state of mind—being in a high position yet treading on thin ice, longing for understanding and support. His gaze, his tone, and even his every subtle breath were filled with genuine emotion.

The veteran actor playing the old subordinate, while acting opposite Lin Da, was involuntarily drawn into that tragic and helpless atmosphere, his eyes even becoming a little moist.

“Good! Excellent!” Director Zheng Guofeng watched from behind the monitor, excitedly, “Lin Da, the emotion in this scene of yours is spot on! That kind of understanding between a ruler and his subject, yet transcending it, was portrayed by you to the fullest!”

As the filming progressed smoothly, Lin Da’s prestige within the crew reached a new height.

He not only conquered everyone with his superb acting skills but also won everyone’s respect and affection with his personal charm.

And on the system interface, the evaluation of “Excellent portrayal of the character” in the second phase of the “Path of the Golden Supporting Actor” mission was steadily improving.

Lin Da knew that he was getting closer and closer to completing this stage mission.

One day, after filming ended, as soon as Lin Da returned to the hotel, he received an unexpected call.

The call was personally from Chairman Li Shengshi.

“Brother Lin, how’s everything going with the crew lately?” Li Shengshi’s hearty laughter came from the other end of the line.

“Thanks to Chairman Li, everything is well,” Lin Da replied politely.

“Haha, that’s good then!” Li Shengshi paused, his tone becoming a bit more serious, “Brother Lin, how have you considered the collaboration I mentioned to you at the banquet last time? I really have a few excellent scripts tailored just for you!”

Li Shengshi extended an olive branch once more.

Lin Da pondered for a moment, already having made up his mind.
