Naruto: The Medical Ninja

Chapter 160: Chapter 159: Curse Danzo Shimura

The veterinarian and the medical ninja, sent by the Hokage’s ANBU, both tested the seal on the injured animals and were amazed by its effectiveness. The big dog’s wounds from infighting healed in a matter of minutes because the seal had halted the bleeding and sped up the healing process.

Both medical professionals exchanged a knowing glance, realising they were witnessing something truly extraordinary.

”Congratulations. You have done it again.” Hokage said. ”Would you be joining me to address the Fuinjutsu Council?”

”Yes, I will be,” Dan replied.

”Then, meet me in a few hours.” Hiruzen replied.

Dan reached out to Tsume Inuzuka with an encrypted version of Healing Seal as promised, ”Thank you, Lady Inuzuka, for your help.”

”The pleasure is all mine. I got to see something I have never seen before,” Tsume Inuzuka replied.

Dan turned to Yuki and said, ”Would you like to have lunch with us while we wait?”

Yuki answered, ”Yeah, I would also like to meet the Fuinjutsu Council and see his ugly mug.”

”Then, let’s leave,” Dan said, and all of them left for their respective residences.

Hokage deliberately waited a few hours for the news to spread regarding this seal. And as he has guessed from the Inuzuka Residence, Animal Hospital, and the medical ninja that was present there, the news spread like wildfire. The news soon reached the other grandmasters within an hour.

And as Hiruzen had expected, all were surprised by this development. Many ninjas, including top-level ones like the second Hokage and S-rank ninjas such as Dan Kato and Kagami Uchiha, have died due to the medical ninja not arriving on time. But this seal will change the situation for the better.

The medical community’s emotions were especially high due to the potential impact of the new seal on their profession.

They were initially concerned about the news because they believed the seal would take their jobs. But when explained, that seal will not work without the storing of healing hand jutsu into the seal by a medical ninja; they were happy and saw this as a business opportunity. Everyone would want to keep a backup [Healing Seal] in case of emergency.

In a few hours, the Fuinjutsu Council was called, and as expected, they were discussing how Dan was able to create such a seal.

Shinnosuke Uchiha said, ”This is not the work of a single person. There must be another grandmaster behind him.”

Natsurama Senju replied, ”I think you do not know, so let me tell you. Dan Hamura is one of the best grandmasters in the village. He is an apprentice of Lady Mito Uzumaki, who is essentially the progenitor of Fuinjutsu in our village. ”

Homura Mitokado also joined the conversation and agreed, ”Natsurama San is right; I believe he is the most talented Fuinjutsu grandmaster in the village.”

”Then why didn’t he create a seal like this in the past years?” Shinnosuke Uchiha asked.

Natsurama Senju replied, ”He did create a few seals. He and Lady Mito together helped the second Hokage create many fuinjutsu, which are still widely used today.”

”He possesses the necessary skills and resources. I am confident that he has been diligently working on various seals for the past 70 years, and now we are witnessing the fruits of his efforts.”

All the other elders were listening quietly. Danzo was sitting like a statue.

Suddenly, the Hokage strode into the room with an air of authority and said, ”Ladies and gentlemen, I have gathered you are here to share good news about a new seal that has been created.”

Natsurama Senju, ”Drop the act, my friend. We already know. It has been the talk of the town already.”

Everyone already knew and had already guessed why the news was leaked before the seal was presented to the council; Dan Hamura was now famous in the town.

”News travels fast,” Hiruzen tried to joke it off.

But ignoring him, Natsurama Senju continued, ”You must already have tested the seal, am I right?”

”Yes, it works. It hadn’t been tested on humans, but it worked really well on animals. I have tasked a team of professional medical ninjas to test the seal thoroughly,” replied Hiruzen.

”So what terms did Dan offer?” Natsurama Senju asked.

Just then, the knock was heard on the door. Door opened Dan, Yuki, and Dr. Sato came in.

”You can ask him yourself,” Hiruzen said.

”Dan-dono, long time no see. You too, Yuki-san,” Natsurama Senju said, greeted by Dan and Yuki with smiles.

”It is good to see you too, Natsurama-san,” Dan replied.

Natsurama said, ”You have been busy for the last year, creating seal after seal. Tell me, why have you been hiding all this talent for all these years?”

Dan replied, ”It was due to personal reasons. I was not motivated enough.”

Natsurama Senju asked, ”What changed?”

”I adopted a grandson.” Dan replied.

Natsurama Senju replied, ”Congratulations. What is his name?”

Dan replied, ”His name is Ryu.”

Natsurama Senju was shocked by the name. He had known Ryu Senju, Ryu’s real grandfather of the same name, firsthand.

”Dan, don’t tell me.” Natsurama Senju started to ask something, but Dan interrupted him.

”We can talk later, Natsurama-san. Let’s talk business first,” Dan said.

Dan continued, ”I am here to offer the fuinjutsu council the deal regarding the [Healing Seal].”

He continued, ”Selling the rights for this seal was a tough decision due to my urgent need for money. Selling it through profit sharing wouldn’t bring immediate financial relief, so I opted to sell the full rights instead. So I thought about it and came to a number Like the previous encoder seal, I am willing to sell this seal to the entire Council.”

Hiruzen interrupted and said, ”Like before, the seal is for the betterment of the village. And this time, it will help the village’s medical capabilities. So the village will also participate in this deal as an individual. In fact, I have invited the medical council as well. We all will be needing the help of the medical ninjas. To complete this Seal Let me introduce you to Dr. Sato, the newest member of the Medical Council of the Leaf Village. He will not be a part of the deal, but he will shed light on the overall importance of this seal.

Natsurama Senju replied, ”That won’t be necessary, friend; we have been to too many wars. My entire clan died in the last three wars. There is no one in the room who can tell the importance of this seal.”

Homura Mitokado said, ”Right. Everyone in the room has lost someone on the battlefield that could have been avoided if a medical ninja was near.”

”Let us hear what Dan-dono’s offer is,” Natsurama Senju said.

”How about 100,000 Ryo each for the complete selling rights, lifetime selling rights?”

Danzo opened his eyes and said, ”That’s too much. For the good of this village, you should just hand over the seal.”

Hiruzen raised his voice sharply and addressed him, ”Danzo.”

Dan finally looked at him. He was avoiding him so far.

Dan smiled and replied, ”For the good of this village, you should just die.”

Everyone was surprised by what they just heard. No one had the balls to openly curse Danzo Shimura.

Dan continued, ”If you don’t like the deal, we can exclude you. I don’t mind.”

Danzo’s eyes narrowed as he considered his next move. Hiruzen watched the tense exchange, ready to intervene if necessary.

Dan then turned to face the council members and said, ”Gentlemen, I just got a new idea. I will lower my price to 75,000, but I will add a new clause. You are to sell only the encrypted version of the seal, and you are not to sell this seal to Danzo or anyone related to him and his organisation. If this clause is broken, knowingly or unknowingly, all the selling rights of the seal will return to me, and you will not be compensated.”

Dan smiled and asked, ”How about this? You should thank him. Due to his ugly mug, you all got a big discount.”

Danzo was still present in the room. Danzo silently looked at Dan, then at Hiruzen, who purposefully avoided his gaze.

Hiruzen thought, ’Do not involve me in this.’

Danzo realised that arguing is useless, so he quietly stood up and left the room.

Dan said, ”Now that the backstabbing, untrustworthy prick is gone, is there anybody who would like to add something? My offer and discount still stand.”

The council members exchanged glances, unsure of how to proceed in Danzo’s absence. Dan’s bold statement hung in the air, creating a tense atmosphere in the room.

”I have no objections. I like this deal already,” Natsurama Senju said.

Everyone in the room agreed with this deal. They were all terrified of Danzo, but they also did not want to miss this opportunity and the future opportunities as well. After everyone nodded, the obvious conclusion was reached.

Message to all my readers:

I have been reminded again and again of my earlier mistakes, where I was too reliant on AI to complete dialogues and for the unnecessary volume I added in the texts using AI. I had long since stopped using those underhanded methods to bulk the Chapters, but there are still some of those still left, especially in the starting Chapters.

I am editing them now, again. Readers who have already read the most recent Chapter may choose to ignore them because they do not change the plot.

There is one change, however. A lot of people complained about the story’s lack of interest, saying that the plotline about the sick Ryu was so boring that they stopped reading it before they even got to the fun parts that appeared later in the Academy arc.

I agree with most of the negative comments. Since I was a beginner writer, I had not considered the story’s opening to be its most crucial part, and the beginning is where the story is dropped most often by the new readers.

I have added a spoilery moment in the story, much like how the Boruto anime started by spoiling where the story would lead to.

The readers who want to get a glimpse of the future of this story can choose to go back and read Chapter one, and others not interested in spoilers may choose to ignore it.

To the readers who are caught up to the latest Chapters, I thank you for your continued support. I genuinely hope you will stay with me until I actually reach this spoiler point.

Thank you to all my patrons.
