The Legendary Knight: Rise of the Primordial Dragon

It was already close to midnight by the time Vlad sent Chloe back to her dormitory. While Vlad was looking at the building, a few blocks away, the one where Seraphina lived on the fourth floor, a voice came from the front.

”Ahem-ahem.”

Vlad’s eyes shifted forward, finding a middle-aged woman wearing cat-eyed glasses. She wore a short, skin-tight shirt that revealed her waist and belly button. Her legs were covered in low-waisted formal trousers.

In her hand, she carried an arm-sized black rod that had beaten countless boyfriends who had tried to sneak into the dormitories of their girlfriends.

”Since your girlfriend already went inside, why are you still loitering here?” she demanded, her brown eyes narrowing at Vlad.

’D-damn! Why is she here?’ Vlad gulped inwardly. ”Chill, lady. I was just about to leave as well.”

He scoffed, pivoting on his feet. He walked away in confident strides, his demeanor in complete contrast to his nervous thoughts.

’Just my darn luck to get into the radar of this crazy bitch,’ Vlad cursed inwardly, still feeling her sharp gaze at the back of his neck.

As someone who had already infiltrated the girls’ dormitory, twice at that, he had already heard of this crazy woman’s deeds from Seraphina.

She had specifically told him to be extra careful of her. Her name was Ravenna, the head warden of the female dormitories. As the one in a higher position, she wasn’t required to patrol like a security guard. But still, she sometimes took on this duty on a whim.

And it had to be one such night.

No boy had ever managed to sneak in while she was the one on guard. Getting caught by her was just the beginning of the worst.

First, she would beat the infiltrators half to death and then punish them in her own twisted, sadistic ways.

Once, she had tied a boy upside down to a pole in nothing but his boxers for the whole night. On a different occasion, she had forced a boy to kneel at the main entrance all night wearing nothing but a pair of frilly pink panties and a cardboard sign around his neck that read, ”I tried to sneak in. Please step on me,” turning him into a human doorstop for every girl who passed.

She had also made one infiltrator dress as a fairy, complete with a pink tutu, glittering wings, and a wand, and ordered him to clean the toilets of every building.

Every incident ended with the infiltrator dropping out of the academy because of sheer humiliation.

Vlad would rather fight to the death than go through any of that.

He reached the market, which wasn’t too far from the girls’ dormitories. Since the market was mainly for students, most of the shops remained open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

He reached the roof of a shop with a single jump and narrowed his gaze toward the girls’ dormitories in the distance. Thanks to his superhuman senses, he could clearly see for a few hundred metres.

His jaw only tightened in frustration. Ravenna was sitting cross-legged on a chair outside the dormitory where Chloe lived.

She was most likely thinking that Vlad would try to sneak into Chloe’s room, but since Seraphina’s dormitory was also only a few blocks away, he would still get caught.

’Should I try some other day?’ The thought only crossed his mind, but he immediately shook his head.

Seraphina had clearly pushed herself beyond her limits using Sanguine Flame Art, which burned her blood essence. She must have been having a hard time suppressing her vampire instincts, and that was reason enough for Vlad to risk it all.

He would never let her suffer just because of a sadistic hag.

”I need to come up with a plan,” Vlad decided, flickers of crimson lightning dancing in his eyes from sheer determination.

---

”Hah! Trying to be oversmart with me,” Ravenna scoffed to herself. ”I have been working as a warden for ten years. Does he think I won’t read his filthy eyes, which were basically screaming that he would sneak in?”

She closed her eyes, leaning against the backrest of the chair, staying still for over a minute. Slowly, her head began bobbing as if she were truly asleep.

’Now take the bait and make your move,’ she snickered inwardly. ’I know you are watching from the distance.’

Five minutes later...

’Damn it, why isn’t he making any move?’ she muttered inwardly, feeling impatient now. ’No, I need to stay calm.’

Ten minutes later...

’Damn it, I can’t take it anymore,’ she muttered, her fists tightening around the armrest.

Her brown eyes slowly opened, and she stretched her arms as if she had just woken up from a nap.

”I should also go and hit the bed as well,” she yawned, stretching her arms.

She dragged her half-asleep body, skidding every couple of steps as she moved into the five-metre gap between the two buildings.

She had only gone a few metres deeper when her eyes suddenly widened, her lips coiling into a smile.

She sensed something approaching at an extremely fast speed.

”Hahaha, so you finally made a move,” she laughed, pivoting on her feet.

From the direction of the market, a trail of crimson lightning rapidly approached, already reaching the dormitory where Chloe lived.

Ravenna moved like a blur, catching up to the figure in the blink of an eye.

”Caught you, little rat,” she laughed, grabbing the figure with a sweep of her hand.

”H-huh?” She blinked. What she had caught was not a boy, but a mannequin. There was a piece of paper posted on it with a message.

’Got you, crazy bitch.’

At the end of the message, a middle finger was drawn.

Ravenna’s fingers dug into the mannequin, crushing its arms into pieces. Her expression had darkened, her eyebrows twitching in barely contained fury.

She was still distracted by the offensive message when a similar trail of lightning rapidly moved through the air, approaching the roof of the dormitory at the farthest back.

There were more than twenty buildings, making up a large complex with the buildings lined up in several rows.

The lightning trail was about to reach the roof of the building.

”I hope the mannequins had distracted her—” Vlad’s words stopped mid-sentence.

A hand suddenly appeared behind the lightning trail.

”Caught you, little brat,” Ravenna muttered, her lips coiling into a smile of excitement and fury.
