Chapter 110: 110 The Light in Zhao Jiangning’s Eyes

Hearing Chen Mo’s words.

Zhao Fujin then noticed the gourd in Chen Mo’s hand.

”Is this the medicine you prepared?” Zhao Fujin asked.

Chen Mo nodded.

”Are you sure it won’t cause any problems?” Zhao Fujin was still a bit worried. After all, so many Imperial Physicians and folk miracle doctors couldn’t cure the illness. Could Chen Hong really cure it with just some massage techniques and potion?

Indeed, the treatment method Chen Mo mentioned to Zhao Fujin yesterday was precisely massage and a concocted potion.

”Does Your Highness not believe me?” Chen Mo looked into Zhao Fujin’s eyes.

Zhao Fujin’s face blushed slightly, quickly explaining, ”It’s not that I don’t believe you, but the elder sister is already so pitiful now, and if... if...”

Chen Mo understood, then smiled and said, ”Your Highness, I understand. I assure you, although I may not be able to cure Princess De Ning, there is absolutely no problem with this potion.”

Indeed, there was no problem.

The so-called potion was actually concocted by Chen Mo using sugar and some nourishing herbs.

After preparing it, Chen Mo tasted some, and it was like a strange-tasting beverage.

With Chen Mo’s reassurance, Zhao Fujin felt more at ease and stepped aside, saying, ”Then, please go ahead.”

Chen Mo knelt by the bed and then handed the gourd to Zhao Jiangning, saying, ”Princess De Ning, please take a few sips of the potion first.”

Zhao Jiangning, just tormented by the illness, had no strength left in her body. She couldn’t even lift her hands to take it.

Chen Mo could only open the gourd lid and feed her himself.

Watching Chen Mo feed her, Zhao Jiangning’s face instinctively blushed.

Seeing Zhao Jiangning drink a few sips of the potion, Zhao Fujin hurriedly asked, ”Elder sister, how do you feel?”

”A little sweet,” Zhao Jiangning said weakly.

”A little sweet?” Zhao Fujin glanced at Chen Mo.

”Uh... I was afraid Princess De Ning would find the medicine bitter and wouldn’t drink it, so I added a lot of sugar to neutralize it,” Chen Mo explained.

Zhao Fujin nodded and then said, ”No wonder Mother always praises you as a thoughtful person, you even considered this.”

Chen Mo didn’t respond to her but instead said to Zhao Jiangning, ”Princess De Ning, please stretch out your hand.”

”Ah?” Zhao Jiangning was startled.

”Princess De Ning, you’ve already drunk the potion. I’m going to use a unique massage technique to massage you, so the potion will integrate into your flesh and blood faster... thus alleviating your pain. By asking you to stretch out your hand, I want to try if this method is effective. If it is, then we can start with other parts to avoid offending Your Highness...”

Chen Mo rambled on, speaking in a convoluted manner to confuse the two women.

Of course, the two women were smart.

Such words were apparently unable to fool them.

But they had no other choice but to let Chen Mo give it a try as a last resort.

Zhao Jiangning understood what Chen Mo meant by asking her to stretch out her hand.

First, massage the hand. If the pain and numbness in the hand can be relieved, it means this method is effective; then other parts can follow.

If it’s ineffective, the subsequent steps won’t need to be conducted.

This way, the physical contact between the two can be minimized.

”Trouble you...” Zhao Jiangning stretched out her left hand to Chen Mo, her empathy for his thoughtfulness causing her to feel a slight fondness.

”Forgive me...”

Chen Mo took hold of Zhao Jiangning’s delicate hand.

Zhao Jiangning’s hand was beautiful.

Her fingers were slender, with long nails, her skin very white, like pristine cold jade.

The slight imperfection was the numerous green veins and thin blood vessels on her hand.

Activating the Ancient Heavy Pupils, Chen Mo discovered an accumulation of Yin Yang Qi at her wrist.

Zhao Jiangning’s body suddenly stiffened. Although she was an Empress, she was a very traditional woman, who placed great importance on feminine virtues. But the torment of her body left her with no choice, willing to try any method. Otherwise, she wouldn’t allow any man other than her husband to touch her.

Well, except for her father and the Imperial Physicians.

As they say, a doctor is not avoided when one is ill.

But Chen Mo wasn’t considered a real physician.

Therefore, Zhao Jiangning felt a strong sense of shame from Chen Mo holding her hand.

Nevertheless, Chen Mo didn’t know her thoughts. He pretended to massage her left wrist, thinking to himself, ”Absorb, hurry and absorb...”

Chen Mo stared at the Yin Yang Qi in Zhao Jiangning’s wrist, muttering in his heart.

The next moment, Chen Mo felt a heat in his eyes. Immediately, he noticed the Yin Yang Qi at Zhao Jiangning’s wrist was being absorbed through the arm into his body; part of it was absorbed by his eyes, and part of it surged into his Dantian, transforming into pure True Qi.

Chen Mo’s massage was peculiar, making Zhao Jiangning feel like he was toying with her, her face nearly bleeding from embarrassment.

To prevent Zhao Fujin and Chen Mo from noticing, Zhao Jiangning forced her body to the side, turning her back to them. Her voluptuous, beautiful curves were outlined through her dress, long legs smooth, exuding the allure of a mature woman.

Of course, compared to Xiao Yunxi, she fell short.

Being more than ten years younger than Xiao Yunxi, she was not as... ripe...

However, she quickly found the pain in her left hand gradually disappearing, even the numbness in her arm that lingered after the episodes slowly fading away.

Zhao Jiangning lay back down again, the shyness on her face vanished, replaced by unparalleled astonishment, and then she said in a trembling, even excited voice, ”Fu... Fujin, it seems... it seems to be working...”

”Ah...”

Zhao Fujin stared at Chen Mo kneading her elder sister’s hand, feeling inexplicably jealous. Upon hearing her elder sister’s words, she was momentarily stunned, then also said excitedly, ”Really? Then... that’s wonderful. In that case, elder sister, you don’t have to suffer from the torment of the illness anymore.”

Zhao Jiangning was also moved to tears.

This had plagued her for over a decade.

It started when she was five years old, beginning to manifest.

Initially, it was just numbness, later escalating to whole-body pain, convulsions, pain that made one wish for death.

From once a year.

To half a year, three months, a month, half a month...

Now it was every other day, or even daily.

Sometimes, living felt like the greatest torment.

Today, finally, she saw hope for ending this suffering.

At this moment, her gaze at Chen Mo was like seeing a ray of light in the darkness.

”We...well, Princess De Ning, you... are you okay?” Being stared at by a woman this way for the first time, Chen Mo felt odd.

”Will my illness... be cured?” As a patient, although Zhao Jiangning was convinced of the effectiveness, she couldn’t help but ask.

”Since it’s effective, it surely can be, just... it might take some time...”

Chen Mo thought to himself. In the simulation, he could absorb her Yin Yang Qi, and on the subsequent ’three choices’ select ten days of Martial Art experience; now, he could absorb it in reality too. If he doesn’t completely absorb all her Yin Yang Qi, wouldn’t he be able to absorb infinitely?
