Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

About ten kilometers north of Qing County is Shihu Town. These people are local survivors from Shihu Town, and also the northernmost Survivor Camp in Qin City. Further north, you’d reach Cheng City.

”Who the hell are you calling a cripple? Say it again if you dare!”

The middle-aged man called Old Lame turned his head and glared at Big Bull, appearing somewhat intimidating in the dim light.

Old Lame’s real name is Xie Guangfa, a genuine hunter.

Qing County is mountainous. In earlier years, he accidentally broke his leg while chasing prey on the mountains. It wasn’t too serious at the time, just a bone fracture, but the delay in treatment led to his legs being slightly different lengths.

Calling him lame is a bit excessive, as although his movements appear a bit awkward, it doesn’t affect his everyday life at all.

Big Bull got provoked by Xie Guangfa’s retort, and his anger flared up. He threw down the old cotton in his hand, glared at Xie Guangfa sitting on the kang, and said word by word, ”I’m talking about you, cripple, Old Lame!”

The air went silent, with only the smoke in the air gently drifting, though the silence didn’t last long.

A swoosh sounded.

Xie Guangfa, referred to as Old Lame, spun around in place like a top, his whole body springing up instantly. The people sitting around him felt just a gust of wind, followed by a fleeting shadow.

Bam!

Thump thump... thud.

”Ah... you bastard!”

Big Bull stood on the kang, feeling aggrieved. He hadn’t expected Xie Guangfa to make a move without saying much, or rather, to use his feet.

Fortunately, he reacted quickly enough to raise his arm in front of his chest to avoid serious injury. However, he was still kicked with such a force that he staggered several steps back and only managed to disperse the force by leaning on the wall, his arm throbbing in pain.

”Does being crippled feel good?”

Xie Guangfa stood on the kang with a slanted posture, looking coldly at Big Bull like a provoked beast.

The few people originally seated on the edge of the kang had already moved to the center of the room, worried about being caught in the crossfire...

”Hey, Old Xie, Big Bull is like an idiot, used to spouting nonsense. Why bother with him, come on, calm down.”

The head wolf of the Flying Wolf Gang, Qi Dabin, spoke to mediate, standing by the window with a cigarette in his mouth. He could have spoken before Xie Guangfa went berserk, but he waited until Xie Guangfa vented his anger before intervening.

For him, Big Bull was far less important than Xie Guangfa.

”Remember this, kid, keep your mouth clean from now on. If I hear you badmouthing me again, it won’t just end with a kick!”

Xie Guangfa harshly finished his words, then sat back on the edge of the kang to continue massaging his leg as if nothing had happened just now.

”Mmm... mmm...”

Big Bull leaned against the wall, letting out muffled grunts, his face flushed with anger, fortunately not visible in the dim room.

The people around looked evasive; Xie Guangfa’s temper was not without reason. His niece was bitten to death yesterday, and, after fleeing all the way, they only managed to catch their breath after meeting the people from Bridge Town, barely escaping death. It was normal for him to have a short temper.

”Let me say something fair...”

Brother Justice saw the situation calm down and raised his hand to voice an opinion: ”Actually, Big Bull’s words, although rough, get to the point. We escaped without bringing much, and our food and drink will only last us for half a month. What’ll we do after that? Our Flying Wolf Association can’t stand this kind of humiliation. The mountain’s defenses are weak now, and once we conquer it, it’ll be easy to defend and hard to attack. We’ll have nothing to worry about! Don’t you agree?”

”Get, get, get it, my ass. Did you see how timid those people from Bridge Castle are? With the weapons we have, there’s not even a glimmer of hope!”

Skinny, curling up in a corner, shot a glance at the person speaking while puffing a cigarette.

”No, Koreans, where did you see that the mountain only has the old, the weak, and women left, relying on your dog’s nose?”

”The women are the ones who have been showing themselves. Isn’t that proof there’s only the old, the weak, and women left?”

”Enough arguing! Haven’t you thought of a smarter strategy than brute force? You bunch of pigheads!”

Qi Dabin, feeling both brave and wise, snuffed out his cigarette and looked at everyone, with an inscrutable smile on his face, clearly indicating he already had a plan in mind.

”I have something to say!”

After showcasing his skill with a kick, Xie Guangfa spoke before Qi Dabin had a chance to unveil his plan.

As the muscle within the Flying Wolf Gang, Xie Guangfa was usually reserved, but when he spoke, everyone obliged, quietly observing.

”Celestial Horse Island has already done us a great kindness by offering us a place to settle, and I am very satisfied!”

Though few, his words conveyed a clear message; he did not want any conflict with Celestial Horse Island.
