High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices

Zone B1 was located on the west side of the valley, a relatively open slope.

When Xu Wuyi arrived, the scene was already a bloodbath.

Six Martial Artists were desperately fending off the attacks of two Red Armor Commanders. Two bodies lay on the ground, and another person was grievously wounded, a gruesome, bloody hole in his chest. It was the team leader, Martial Artist Chen.

”Hold on! Reinforcements are on their way!”

A shield-wielding Martial Artist roared, taking the full charge of a Red Armor Commander head-on with his heavy alloy shield. The impact sent him stumbling back several steps, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

The other Red Armor Commander seized the opportunity to lunge for the flank, swiping its sharp claws at a young female Martial Artist.

The female Martial Artist’s face was deathly pale; it seemed she couldn’t dodge in time.

Just then—

A streak of dark gold light tore through the night!

”SQUELCH!”

The Meteor Iron Long Spear, like a hot knife through butter, precisely pierced through the Red Armor Commander’s eye socket and straight out the back of its skull!

The [Undying Flame] erupted the instant the spear tip made contact, and dark golden flames incinerated the Commander Level Star Beast’s brain from the inside.

Its enormous body crashed to the ground, twitched twice, and then fell silent.

Xu Wuyi pulled his spear free and landed, positioning himself in front of the female Martial Artist.

”You...” The female Martial Artist stared dazedly at his back.

”Get the wounded and fall back. I’ll take it from here.” Xu Wuyi didn’t turn around, his gaze locked on the remaining Red Armor Commander.

The shield-wielding Martial Artist was both shocked and overjoyed. ”Reinforcements are here! It’s a Martial Artist!”

Xu Wuyi gave a slight nod in acknowledgment, but he was already moving.

The Red Armor Commander seemed to sense its companion’s death. It let out an enraged roar, abandoned its attack on the shield-wielding Martial Artist, and lunged at Xu Wuyi.

Its speed was nearly double that of an ordinary Blade-toothed Beast, yet its massive body was unusually agile. The blade-like bones on its forelimbs tore through the air, bringing with them a foul wind as they slashed down.

Xu Wuyi didn’t dodge or evade, meeting the attack with his long spear!

”CLANG—!”

The spearhead and bone blade collided, erupting in a jarring shriek of metal on metal as sparks flew.

Xu Wuyi’s arm went slightly numb, and his heart tightened.

’Such immense strength. This Red Armor Commander’s Life Energy Level must be close to 37.’

But there was no fear in his eyes. Instead, his fighting spirit ignited.

His *Hundred Refinements Melting Furnace* technique activated at full power, his Qi and Blood surging like molten lava. *Melting Furnace Boiling Blood* quietly engaged, and the aura around him skyrocketed as waves of scorching heat radiated from his position.

The dark golden [Undying Flame] coiled around the shaft of his spear, dyeing the entire weapon a deep gold.

”Shocking God!”

He roared inwardly as his Spear Momentum changed in an instant!

The Red Armor Commander’s crimson pupils constricted violently. It seemed to sense a mortal threat and wanted to retreat, but it was too late.

The spear tip rapidly grew larger in its vision. This wasn’t a simple physical attack; it was a piercing Intention, one that felt as if it could penetrate the very soul!

”PFFT—!”

The spear tip plunged unimpeded into the weakest point of its chest armor, right over its heart. The [Undying Flame] surged madly down the spear shaft, raging and incinerating everything within the beast’s body!

”ROAR—!”

The Red Armor Commander let out a bloodcurdling shriek. Its massive body thrashed wildly, its claws flailing about and gouging deep pits into the ground.

Xu Wuyi tightened his grip on the long spear. With a surge of power from his arms and his Qi and Blood, he actually lifted the nearly three-ton beast clean off the ground and smashed it violently against the nearby cliff face!

”BOOM!”

The cliff face trembled, and loose stones rained down.

The Red Armor Commander was embedded in the cliff. The dark golden flames burning in its chest spread rapidly across its body, and in just a few breaths, it was reduced to a charred corpse.

Xu Wuyi retracted his spear, breathing a little heavily.

Those consecutive bursts of power had taken a toll on him.

”It’s... it’s over?” The shield-wielding Martial Artist stared, dumbfounded, at the scene.

’That was a Red Armor Commander!’

’A monster whose defenses were comparable to a level 37 Martial Artist at full guard!’

’And he took it down... in just two spear strikes?’

Xu Wuyi ignored his shock and quickly scanned the battlefield. ”Are there any other wounded?”

”Martial Artist Chen is critically injured! He needs to be taken to the rear for immediate treatment!” the female Martial Artist said quickly, snapping out of her daze.

”You all escort him back. I’ll hold the line here.” Xu Wuyi took a Life Potion from his tactical belt and walked over to the fallen Martial Artist Chen.

Martial Artist Chen’s chest was a mangled mess of flesh and blood, but he was still conscious. He looked at Xu Wuyi’s young face, his lips moving. ”Th... Thank you...”

”Don’t talk. Conserve your strength.” Xu Wuyi injected the Potion into his carotid artery. ”Get back and get treated properly.”

The shield-wielding Martial Artist and the female Martial Artist quickly helped Martial Artist Chen up and retreated toward the rear.

Xu Wuyi stood alone before the defense line of Zone B1, gazing into the depths of the valley.

The sounds of battle from that direction were even more intense, punctuated by continuous explosions and roars.

On his communicator, requests for help were still flooding the screen:

”Zone C2’s defense line has collapsed! I repeat, Zone C2’s defense line has collapsed! All survivors fall back to Zone B!”

”A fourth Red Armor Commander has appeared in Zone D! Martial Artist Wang has been killed in action!”

”Command, Energy readings are spiking again! Detecting... detecting an off-the-charts life signature! It’s a Great Commander Level! The rift is being forced open!”

’A Great Commander Level!’

Xu Wuyi’s pupils contracted sharply.

’That’s an existence equivalent to an Innate Martial Artist of the Human Race!’

”All Martial Artists, listen up!” Vice Minister Li’s voice crackled through, filled with grim determination. ”The Innate Martial Artists are en route. Stop the Great Commander’s arrival at all costs!”

”I repeat, at all costs!”

Xu Wuyi gripped his long spear and, without hesitation, charged toward the direction of the strongest Energy reading.

...

Zone C2 was in utter chaos.

Three Red Armor Commanders were besieging five Martial Artists. Seven or eight bodies lay strewn across the ground, their blood dyeing the earth a dark red.

Of the five Martial Artists, two were already severely injured, and the remaining three were at the end of their ropes.

”Hold on... reinforcements...” a middle-aged, saber-wielding Martial Artist rasped. His right arm was twisted at an unnatural angle, clearly broken, yet he still held his blade tightly in his left hand.

A Red Armor Commander lunged at him, a foul wind washing over his face.

Just then, the dark golden shadow of a spear descended from the sky!

”THWACK!”

The spear tip pierced through the Red Armor Commander’s neck, pinning it to the ground!

Xu Wuyi landed, yanked his spear free, and turned—all in one fluid motion.

”Fall back and tend to your wounds,” he said to the five Martial Artists.

”You...” The saber-wielding Martial Artist was stunned.

But Xu Wuyi was already charging toward the other two Red Armor Commanders.

He wasted no time on words and immediately unleashed his power.

*Melting Furnace Boiling Blood* activated fully. A faint, dark golden flame flickered across the surface of his body as his long spear blurred into a series of afterimages.

”Shocking God! Splitting God!”

A Spirit Shock erupted first, causing one of the Red Armor Commanders to freeze for an instant.

And in that instant, the spear arrived!

”SHHIIIIINNNG—!”

The spear’s blade sliced through the joint between its neck and chest plate—a relatively weak point for the Red Armor Species. Dark golden flames poured into the wound, burning ferociously.

The other Red Armor Commander seized the opening and pounced from his rear flank, its claws aiming straight for Xu Wuyi’s back.

As if he had eyes in the back of his head, Xu Wuyi twisted his body in an uncanny way. He spun his long spear around, using the shaft to block the claws.

”CLANG!”

A tremendous force slammed into him. Xu Wuyi used the momentum to spin, his spear tip striking out like a viper’s tongue, aimed at this Red Armor Commander’s eye socket.
