How Could the Villainous Young Master Be a Saintess?

So strong.

Inside the mountain cave, looking at Vanessa who was suppressing these half-kin of the Demon God Pillars, Mirexia couldn’t help but sigh in admiration. If she hadn’t been poisoned, perhaps she could have done the same.

So Vinny had been hiding her strength all along?

But why?

Mirexia suddenly thought of this question.

Why had Vinny been hiding the fact that she had awakened her bloodline? Why had she been concealing her strength?

Recalling Vinny who used to act crazy and clownish in the past, always saying ridiculous things and being publicly humiliated, Mirexia suddenly thought of a terrifying possibility.

Ever since she officially became the successor of the Camella Kingdom and got busy, she had rarely seen Vinny.

This was also because she wanted to prevent Vinny from causing trouble during her meetings with the children of nobles, always saying strange things to her regardless of the occasion.

For a long time after that, she didn’t know what had happened to Vinny, but Mirexia’s intuition told her that the key time when Vinny’s personality changed was during that period.

After that time, Vinny’s personality became even more eccentric than before, always comparing herself to other nobles at banquets, and when she couldn’t win, she would immediately start cursing.

In short, compared to her past outrageous behaviors, pouring red wine on Aesphyra’s skirt was considered restrained.

At that time, Mirexia simply thought that Vinny was becoming more and more extreme, worried that she would go astray in the future, and was troubled by it.

But now, looking back, was that really the case?

Was it really because of her extreme personality that her path became narrower and her temperament became more and more eccentric?

No, Mirexia guessed that during the time when she stopped seeing Vinny, something must have happened to Vinny, forcing her to disguise herself as an extreme clown, putting on a show for everyone in the Camella capital, and possibly also for those hidden in the shadows, creating a persona that made everyone think that Vinny was a useless piece of trash.

This persona, she had maintained for several years, and her acting was so good that even Mirexia, her childhood friend, was fooled.

Everyone thought she was just a piece of trash that couldn’t be helped.

However, in reality, she had been biding her time.

She had already awakened her family’s bloodline, and perhaps she was originally a girl.

Despite being a genius with exceptional talent, she endured the humiliation for so long, giving up the opportunity to make a name for herself, and insisted on disguising herself as a mad dog, a piece of trash, earning everyone’s contempt and disdain. It was obvious that there must have been many helpless reasons behind this.

Just now, she had asked her to keep her secret, which confirmed this.

Enduring the contempt and disdain of others, flawlessly playing the role of a mad dog for so many years, and making everyone believe it without a doubt, the hardships she must have endured in secret, perhaps only she knew.

Mirexia felt a pang of guilt in her heart, looking at the back of the cherry-haired girl, her childhood friend who had suffered so much over the years, and she had been completely unaware of it.

She really wasn’t qualified.

No, it should be said that she was too much.

As for why Vinny didn’t ask for her help during difficult times?

What else could it be?

During the time when she didn’t see her, Vinny probably also understood her choice, felt her rejection, and probably became disheartened.

After that, although she still maintained their friendship, there was a sense of distance. But to avoid arousing suspicion, Vinny had to continue the act, playing the clown in front of everyone, maintaining her pursuit and obsession with her.

Otherwise, a drastic change in her persona would inevitably raise suspicions, ruining all her preparations over the years.

Everything suddenly made sense.

Mirexia felt that she had finally glimpsed the general outline of her childhood friend’s complex experiences.

And this was also the question that puzzled Mirexia the most: what was Vinny doing all this for? Why not announce the awakening of her bloodline, tell everyone that the Varelis family had a successor, and return to the church as a Saintness? Wouldn’t that be better?

Who was she avoiding? Why did she have to create this clown persona in front of the entire Camella capital, the entire Camella Kingdom, for so long?

So, without her knowledge, so many things had happened?

Mirexia didn’t know what would happen if Vinny’s persona was discovered to be fake, but this was a persona that Vinny had painstakingly maintained for many years, so it must have been necessary.

Otherwise, who would do such a thankless task that greatly affected their reputation?

She risked exposure, the risk of her persona being exposed after so many years, and still chose to save her without hesitation.

Save her, this childhood friend who didn’t understand her hardships, was completely unaware of her suffering, and therefore treated her coldly, even somewhat rejected her.

Mirexia pursed her lips, her expression complicated as she gazed at the back of the cherry-haired girl.

At this moment, the guilt and self-reproach in her heart were overwhelming.

“Virtue +400.”

“Current Virtue: 4254.”

On the other side, hearing the command of the purple-robed man, the black horned monsters opened their twisted faces and sprayed a strong-smelling orange-yellow liquid at Vanessa.

What was the smell of this liquid?

Vanessa felt that the smell of the liquid sprayed by these half-kin was familiar, as if she had smelled it somewhere before.

Erunes used his [Alchemy Authority] to support the secret potion that transformed humans into his half-kin, and these half-kin also inherited part of their master’s authority, although this part was pitifully small.

The bodies of these half-kin were like alchemy crucibles that were constantly burning, producing various alchemical drugs inside.

And because Erunes’s [Alchemy Authority] was originally used to create poisons, the later recovery and disease-curing potions were created by Saintess Elusa, so the alchemical drugs produced inside these half-kin were all harmful poisons.

No matter what the effects of these drugs were, they were definitely not good things, and touching them would definitely be troublesome.

Vanessa jumped away from her original position, constantly dodging. The long-range attacks of the liquid were fast and had a splash effect, making it much more difficult to dodge than the simple brute force of the claws.

There were too many monsters, and the liquid could be sprayed from a distance, from different directions, in a saturation attack.

Although Vanessa managed to dodge almost all of them with her agile movements, she couldn’t avoid the liquid splashing on the ground around her, getting on her boots.

The high-heeled boots were not corroded, indicating that the liquid had no corrosive effect, although [Armour Fortress] also had anti-corrosion and anti-toxic properties.

So what was the effect of this liquid?

At this thought, Vanessa suddenly felt her left leg go numb and lose sensation, as if her leg no longer existed. Her leg went weak, and she knelt down.

Vanessa half-knelt on the ground, suddenly looking at the orange-yellow liquid on her thigh. The liquid seeped into her body through her pores.

[Armour Fortress] was a pair of over-the-knee boots with a lotus leaf pleated skirt, and her thighs were exposed, not protected by any fabric.

Was it a cartilage poison?

Vanessa had seen this alchemical poison in her alchemy textbook. It could seep into the skin and soften parts of the human body in a short time.

Among alchemical poisons, most needed to be ingested or enter the bloodstream to take effect, so this kind of poison, although short-lived, was very popular in the black market because it only needed to be sprayed on the human body to take effect.

However, this poison also had many limitations, such as its high cost, very short effect, and easy treatment, only able to cause temporary hindrance.

“Hahaha, yes, that’s it, don’t get close to her, make her unable to stand!” The purple-robed man also saw that Vanessa’s strength and close combat skills were outstanding, and engaging in close combat with her would be a big loss.

With one leg unable to move, Vanessa’s mobility was greatly hindered. The half-kin of Erunes, following the purple-robed man’s command, sprayed the liquid at Vanessa’s other leg that was still supporting her.

“Thud.” Vanessa’s legs went weak, she lost her balance, and fell to the ground.

Vanessa used the mace to support her upper body, preventing herself from completely lying on the ground.

“Saintess, how does the cartilage magic potion personally taught by my master Erunes taste?” The purple-robed man sneered. “You, use ropes to tie her up, bind her hands and feet tightly, this girl is very strong, ordinary ropes probably can’t hold her.”

Damn it.

Mirexia, watching this scene inside the mountain cave, clenched the coat in her hand.

Her trembling, weak legs tried to stand up to help Vanessa, but the effect of the [Dragonfall Potion] was still ongoing.

She thought the poison would metabolize over time, but she didn’t expect the [Dragonfall Potion] to become stronger over time.

Without an antidote, her bones and muscles were so soft that she couldn’t even straighten her waist.

What should she do?

Mirexia trembled as she stood up from the ground, her face pale and bloodless, covered in cold sweat, making her fair skin appear translucent.

This was her limit. If she hadn’t been leaning against the mountain wall, she wouldn’t have been able to maintain her balance.

Seeing the half-kin with ropes approaching, Vanessa frowned slightly.

In the end, her magical attack methods were still too few, and most of her output relied on close combat. Once the enemy had a large number and kept their distance, if she didn’t quickly break the situation, she would slowly fall into a disadvantage.

Magic, if only she knew powerful magic.

Vanessa opened the virtue panel, knowing she didn’t have much time, and without hesitation spent 1000 virtue to learn [Holy Radiance].

This was one of the few large-scale attack spells she could currently learn.

She remembered that the most basic requirement for this spell was [Light Element Affinity] above excellent.

She didn’t know if her [Light Element Affinity] had reached the excellent level, as there was no one to compare with.

But just now, she observed the light magic she released, and her intuition told her that she might be able to do it.

“Virtue deducted 1000.”

“Current Virtue: 3254.”

“Learned [Saint Envoy] magic, [Holy Radiance].”

“Hehehe, beautiful little saintess, if you are willing to beg for mercy now, I might give you a chance.” Looking at the pure cherry-haired girl lying on the ground, unable to move but still stubbornly supporting her body with her hands, the purple-robed man was extremely excited.

If only he could see a look of submission on that flawless, beautiful face, just thinking about it made him uncontrollably excited!

Mirexia gasped for breath, also nervously watching Vanessa, whose legs were unable to move. Seeing the monsters suddenly walking towards her, her heart was in her throat.

Facing imminent disaster, Vanessa showed no panic or despair. She remained calm, closed her eyes, and clasped her hands together.

Even though she was lying down due to her legs losing sensation, she still looked like a solemn and devout pure nun and martyr.

Suddenly, Mirexia felt that the mountain cave was no longer so dark.

Was it dawn?

No, this was an extension area of the Demon God’s plans. Except for the absence of the Demon God, it was no different from the real Demon God’s plane. The sky was a sea of blood, with no concept of day and night. How could it be dawn?

The rising dawn light shattered the bloody haze above.

The monsters suddenly stopped in their tracks, and the purple-robed man stood dumbfounded, speechless.

The dazzling light filled the dark cave, and at this moment, Mirexia felt that the haze that had been hanging over her head was completely dispelled.

She looked up, her gaze fixed on the six-winged angel that appeared behind Vanessa, formed by pure light elements, as tall as the sky. Her eyes were slightly closed, her hands clasped together, in the same posture as Vanessa, in a prayer position.

Like a goddess descending to the world.

The pure and flawless six-winged angel waved her pure wings that could easily blow away mountains, her long hair swaying and emitting sacred light particles.

Her figure was grand and magnificent, yet so sacred and inviolable. She stood there, as if she was the embodiment of the word [Sacred].

What kind of shocking visual impact was this? The most devout believers of the Goddess of Radiance would sincerely offer the highest respect, willingly kneel and worship.

The most evil spirits would be terrified, trembling and kneeling on the ground, unable to resist, reflecting on their sins and admitting their guilt.

Just like these half-kin of Erunes in front of them, whether they were willing or not, their compromise to instinctive fear and submission to absolute power made them prostrate on the ground, not even daring to raise their eyes.

“Is that... the goddess?” Mirexia murmured, looking at the six-winged angel that appeared in the sky. She was not unfamiliar with this towering figure, as she had seen her statue every time she went to church.

That was the Goddess of Radiance, Varelis, very similar to the statue in the church, the only difference was the divine aura and sacred charm that the statue couldn’t show.

“Goddess of Radiance!?” The purple-robed man had completely forgotten to scold his incompetent subordinates for sincerely bowing to their greatest enemy. His instinct told him that if he didn’t escape now, his life would be over here!

“Master Erunes, help me!” With that, the purple-robed man took out all the alchemical potions hidden under his robe and drank them one by one, forming layers of alchemical protective keratin on his skin, blue, green, yellow, black, all colors.

At this point, he no longer cared about wasting precious resources. His life was at stake, who cared about these things!? Use everything that could be used!

Completely unaware of what was happening, he thought the Goddess of Radiance had descended, and was scared out of his wits.

On the ground, Vanessa, with her hands clasped together, slowly opened her eyes.

The six-winged goddess in the sky synchronized with her, opening her eyes that were untainted by the mortal world.

Her eyes were filled with love and compassion for all living beings, favor for believers, blessings and praise for the good, and determination and punishment for evil.

The air seemed to freeze at this moment.

The goddess lowered her gaze, delivering her decree to the beings prostrating before her on the earth.

Heaven and earth have their laws, all things have their rules. Those whose crimes are too numerous to record and whose sins are unforgivable will be deprived of their right to live, punished by the fires of purgatory, to cleanse the filth of their souls before reincarnation.

These monsters, who had long lost any trace of humanity, bathed in the sacred light, were actually reminded of their long-lost humanity by the goddess’s holy image, kneeling on the ground, willingly admitting their guilt and accepting their punishment.

The goddess spread her six wings, and the sacred radiance covered every corner of this land shrouded in blood and fire. All filth had nowhere to hide.

She cast her gaze, and with it, divine punishment.

These half-kin, who were once human but had committed heinous crimes, were covered by a cage of light formed by countless floating golden runes. The runes surrounding them spun faster and faster, like turning gears.

The half-kin clasped their hands together. These familiars, who had been tamed by the Demon God Pillars and were extremely vicious, now looked somewhat like the nuns and priests praying to the goddess in the church.

As the sacred runes spun, the familiars’ appearances gradually blurred, as if they were being ground into dust.

The sacred rune cage gradually shrank, eventually turning into tiny points of light. Under the goddess’s recitation, these points of light, compressed to the extreme, burst out with pure and intense light elements.

A dazzling light storm swept up, but the huge six-winged goddess remained calm, still maintaining her prayer posture, like a god delivering divine punishment to the irredeemable evil of the world, sending all filth to hell to repent for their sins.

In an instant, the earth shook and the mountains trembled. Mirexia understood for the first time that the warm and gentle light element could also be so fierce and aggressive. It could be the goddess’s grace and blessing to all living beings, or it could be the best weapon in the goddess’s hands to punish evil.

Mirexia, hiding in the mountain cave, couldn’t maintain her balance in the shaking and fell back to the ground. The sacred statue outside the cave, like a god descending to the world, was so dazzling that she couldn’t open her eyes.

However, vaguely, she seemed to see that the followers of the Demon God Pillars were purified under the baptism of the holy light storm, turned back into normal humans, and then disappeared between heaven and earth.

They had to atone for their sins.

The goddess seemed to want to tear this sin-filled heaven and earth in half.

After an unknown amount of time, the shaking of the ground stabilized, and Mirexia slowly opened her eyes.

She was surprised to find that the mountains of various sizes that had stood outside were now flattened, and the ground was covered with the incomplete limbs of the monsters.

Under such a powerful light magic bombardment, there were still broken limbs left, showing how exaggerated the physical strength of these Erunes half-kin was. In addition, they must have carried many alchemical potions, the so-called blessings of Erunes.

However, none of this could save them from divine punishment.

However, only this mountain cave was not affected and destroyed. It seemed that this mountain cave had been protected.

The sky was filled with yellow sand, and the visibility outside was extremely low. When the dust settled, Mirexia saw the beautiful figure.

She stood on the corpses of the monsters, unstained by the filth of the mortal world, as if the dirt of the world couldn’t leave a mark on her sacred body.

Looking at everything in front of her, she clenched the mace in her hand, silent.

Those monsters, were they all destroyed?

Mirexia opened her eyes in shock.

Right, the goddess, just now, the goddess descended?

This was truly a miracle.

Mirexia looked at Vanessa’s back, opening her mouth, as if she didn’t know how to speak to her appropriately at this moment.

Just as Mirexia was thinking this, the cherry-haired girl suddenly turned around with a faint smile on her lips and called out to her from inside the cave.

“Your Highness Mirexia, do you have any mana recovery potion with you?”

“Mana recovery potion?” Mirexia pulled out a bottle of blue liquid from her arms.

She always carried one, but since her soul armament was sealed, the potion was useless to her.

“My mana is exhausted. This is bad.” Vanessa blinked playfully.

Understanding what Vanessa meant, Mirexia tossed the potion to her.

“Thank you, Your Highness Mirexia.” Vanessa took the bottle, unscrewed the cap, and sipped the liquid gracefully, like a young lady enjoying red wine at a banquet.

As Mirexia watched the gentle, angelic girl drink the potion, a sudden realization hit her, and her face turned red.
